...was the only time we could be in there without constantly being bashed. The entertainment is...interesting. To be honest, it's somewhat annoying hearing each line in five different languages, but I can understand why they'd have to do that. One of the entertainment nights was excellent, the rest have either been average or awful! But it's free and it's something to do, you might like it. There is also crazy golf which is free and quite good. It's quite shaded by trees so you won't be passing out from the heat while you're doing it, and there's a good variety. It's not very crowded either, there was only one other group playing when we were there. You can play tennis and football etc, though there is only one court so expect to have to fight for your place. Calas de Mallorca is the other side of the island to Palma, but it's well worth...

hotel sol principe is fit for a king.

Advantages: everything about the place is an advantage.
Disadvantages: the non smoking policy (for some)

...With the exception of Tenerife I usually tend to holiday places only once, preferring to try new places rather than return to ones I have already visited. I have been to torremolinos twice now though and a large part of the reasoning behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe). This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach. On approach to this hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the size of the grounds it stood in but it soon became apparent why. This hotel is actually part of a complex which includes as well as the hotel itself the Apartments Sol Principito, a fairly large private car park, a sports area, gardens, a supermarket...

Good value clean hotel

Advantages: Great value, clean, great helpful staff.
Disadvantages: Rear facing rooms are small, food was adequate but not exciting.

...typically an english resort so no issues with language anywhere. The negative side of this were that at times you wondered if you'd arrived in Southend on a sunny day. The resort doesn't have the most character being a purpose built holiday destination so we were glad of a car to get out and about. Overall Overall I would say this hotels biggest asset are it's staff. It's well maintained, though dated, and offers great value for money. The only downsides are the lack of Spanish culture around the resort and the food. Certainly one I'd consider again for a plain sun and sand holiday if another good deal were on offer. Update - 2009 We stayed at this hotel (which has now become the "Calas de Mallorca Sol Resort" in August 2009. We went for a cheap all inclusive sun break and got what we payed for. Advantages: fantastically huge balcony, nice rooms, next to beach, friendly cleaning staff

...she went to the travel agents and finally chose the Sol Lanzarote in Matagorda. As the last three holidays I have been on have covered the other main Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura) and we had made a daytrip over to Lanzarote and liked it last year (the trip left from Fuerteventura, not from Scotland!), this was ideal for me! My mum told me that the Sol Lanzarote hotel was right next to the beach, and my dad and brother, who went to Lanzarote the month before us (and had worse weather, funnily enough) also stayed in Matagorda and confirmed we were indeed right next to the beach. This was great news as far as I'm concerned, as I generally prefer lying by the sea to lying by the pool (which turned out to be a good thing, as I'll explain later). Great holiday at the Sol Trinidad

Advantages: Location, location, location
Disadvantages: Noisy for some guests

...We went on holiday to Majorca for 10 days in July and stayed at the Sol Trinidad hotel in Magaluf. We have been to Magaluf in the past and stayed at a Sol hotel which we really liked and so decided to give this one a go. We booked it off teletext and stayed half-board. The hotel has 375 rooms spread over 9 floors, we had a pool view room on the forth floor which was quite handy as the two (very small!) lifts were out of action a few times and I was grateful for only having to climb four flights of stairs. It is situated a 2 minute walk across the road to the beach, and the road along the front of the hotel has lots of shops (clothes, souvenirs, booze, fags etc) and the road behind mainly bars and BCM the major nightclub where Radio 1 were doing there live weekend while we were there. ...Having viewed this site prior to booking our holiday I decided that there's only one way really to find out, and that's to go!! Everyone's tastes and standards are different so read reviews but ultimately what is fantastic for one family may be a disappointment for another. Hotel; Very clean however VERY basic bedrooms, ours had a prison type metal bunk bed at the foot of two singles put together, reminisant from a scene of Porridge!!!! The whole hotel has either tiled or marble floors which was VERY noisy,even a fairy in slippers would have sounded like a herd of buffalo stampeding across the Sarangeti !! Had the rooms had carpets then this would of deadened some of the noise. Unfortunately our room was next to the stairwell so we heard all and sundry coming and going, and to add insult we overlooked the tarmac carpark rather...

...We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight. Sol Guadalupe, The Place To Be!

Advantages: Great entertainment, great location, great food.

Castillo de Sol, Puerto Rico

Advantages: Clean, Good entertainment for the kids, good pool

...This was our third trip to Puerto Rico and the first time we had stayed on the hillside. We stayed during the middle of October 2006 The Castillo de Sol Apartments are very clean.We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment. The bedroom was a good size with two good sized wardrobes and a dressing table with a nice large mirror. As always, it was a twin bedded room so we just slid the beds together. Our daughter slept on the sofa bed in the lounge area (bedding was left for us). There was a hand towel and a bath towel for each of us which were changed every other day. bedding was changed once during the week we stayed. The maids cleaned 5-6 days per week. The rooms are basic but more than adequate for our needs (somewhere to get changed and to sleep at night!) We did have a TV in the room which took Euro coins and even the smaller 10...
