Step Back in Time on Southend Pier

Advantages: History, sea air, the train ride, walking by the sea
Disadvantages: Not the most exciting of days out

Southend - Locals Don't Know What They Have

Advantages: Lots to see and do. Good shopping. Great history. Excellent public spaces. Family friendly.
Disadvantages: Can be raucous at chucking out time (but what town is not).
