...I have been to Geneva three times now because I have a friend who lives there. Otherwise I?m not sure it would have crossed my mind to visit. It?s certainly not one of those places on everyone?s must see list. Geneva is in Switzerland but is actually surrounded by France. It is a very unique city - a mix of European and British / American influences with people of all different nationalities...

Geneva - It's Nice But it Ain't Switzerland
Advantages: Free public transport, scenic, great food, lots of museums
Disadvantages: Pretty expensive, museums closed Mondays, doesn't feel very Swiss
...on the back of one of those postage stamps that you know you're meant to use on bigger letters but never have to hand at the time. It's situated in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, it's full of foreigners and its most recognisable landmark is in another country. I can't really say that in three and a bit days in Geneva I added much to my Geneva knowledge files but I did have a rather enjoyable time...

Advantages: Beautiful medieval city, relatively cheap, lots to do, excellent transport links
