Advantages: A comfortable well equipped hotel in Warrington
Disadvantages: Mainly suited to the business traveller

...We had to arrange an overnight stay with breakfast, close to Walton Lea crematorium in Cheshire, for 7th August 2006 as we wanted to be present at a family funeral service the next morning. A quick search on the internet showed me that The De Vere Village Hotel and Leisure Centre was only five miles from the village of Walton and the crematorium. The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral.

Advantages: Clean and fresh
Disadvantages: Like a rabbit Warren

...The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70. We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in. Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70. If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel. Advantages: Great Location, Clean, Nice Rooms, Half Board Hotel
Disadvantages: Expect Noise - 18-30 hotel

...buffet supper at the large dining room at ground floor. There, you will also find the night-bar, a huge hall with satellite TV, a TV hall and a meeting hall. The whole ground floor is air-conditioned, just to help you stay cool! Just across the street you will find Hotel Tropical´s entertainment area: a massive swimming pool (22mts) and gardens with plenty of sunbathing space and free sun beds. There is also a gym and games room. The hotel is a around 100m - 5 minutes walk away from hundreds of bars, pubs and clubs and in the day the markey is open everyday offering alsorts of wonderful stores. Relax And Take In The Scenery At The Village

Advantages: Lovely scenery, comfortable beds, nice leisure facilities
Disadvantages: Pool not very family friendly with children only allowed certain times

...'t like was that we asked one of the workers what time we had to get out because of our daughter and he said 2 0 clock. Then at 12 0 clock we were told that we had to get out because children swimming times were over. We were not very happy because it felt like we were being thrown out. I think they had too many adult swim times and could have changed this to once a day. The Health & Fitness Club has all the facilities needed to relax and unwind, including 25m heated indoor pool, Sauna, Steam room, Whirlpool spa, Jacuzzi and Sun showers There is also a fully equipped gym, Toning tables, squash courts and Spinning Studio. Its not a Hotel: Its a Village (+ bangs & wasps)!

Advantages: Kids loved it, Good food, Interesting Water Park.
Disadvantages: Wasps, lack of sunbeads after 9am by the pool, Wasps, Hills & Wasps!

...the Earth (tremors and all that) you can stand on one side of the beach and see gas bubbles coming from under the sea. The sulphar smell is a good clue as to the volcanic activity! They have about 20 sets of shade and loungers on it, only for the hotel use and there was always space here. The beach was about a 10 minute walk from the village complex (going down to it) but about 15 returning (uphill). Water park: Quite simply walk along the side of the KGV up the hill, past the rooms in the 600's, then over the hill and on the other side you'll see it. Medium sized pool, about 100 loungers with shade and 5 water slides. They also have a bar with all the usual drinks and wasps. Watch the shower area though. We saw a good few leeches crawling around. ...We received an email from Macdonald to say they had special offers on certain hotels so we looked into them further. We chose this one as it had a wide range of facilities and was only an hour away from where we live so was a nice weekend break. When we arrived, the place was quaint. It is an old fashioned little village, complete with tea rooms, pub, bakery, and various other little shops. We were told we could check in from 1 so we arrived for 1 and were told that the room wasn't ready so we went into the tea rooms for afternoon tea. We went back to reception at 2 and were told that our room still wasn't ready so to wait in the lounge or have a wander round. There was no apology for the delay. Disadvantages: Top of a VERY steep hill (but taxis cheap)

...The Ino Village Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill on the edge of Samos Town, which makes things a little difficult for anyone with mobility problems, although a taxi from the centre will only cost a couple of Euro and the receptionist is happy to call one for you if you can't even face the walk down the hill. The rooms are featured around an attractive pool, with plenty of sunbeds available in shade or sun. The standard rooms are bright and spacious, but do not have a full sea view or air conditioning. ...Hawaiian tropic complete care after sun after bath I tend to buy a lot of the Hawaiian tropic products when we go abroad because i like the smell and they remind me of holidays spent in the sunshine. I had never tried this one before but decided it was worth a go because I have never had any problems with the products before. WHAT DOES IT DO? Since this doesn't just market itself as an after sun, but rather as complete body care, i am expecting something great from it, although even before I use it, I do expect it to be merely an after sun/moisturiser...not cynical, merely a realist. This is an after sun/after bath product so I believe that makes it the kind of product which can be used all year round as a body moisturiser, unless it is for after the bath when you have previously spent the day on the sun. Disadvantages: rude guests, and no dry walkways between buildings

...of an old farm and its out buildings, in the residents lounge (cocktail bar) there are photos of the buildings before the farm became a hotel. The site has several small shops set up in a village street, there is an old books shop, a bakery run by the hotel, a jewellers, a toy shop and a craft type shop. Also there is a hairdressers and a florists but i have never seen these open. There is also a tea shop and steakhouse/pub. For eating the hotel has its a'lacarte restaurant opposite the cocktail bar, behind reception and the steakhouse in the evenings. Personally i prefer the steakhouse as the portions are more generous the food better and atmosphere less stuffy. The staff from the restaurant and steakhouse are from separate deptments so very rarely cross over. The restaurant you wil get silver service from dedicated waiters the steakhouse...

...Last week I came across one of those special offers in HMV (4 DVds for £20). It was end of the season sale and I picked up a film called "The Village" just to make up the numbers. It struck me as being some sort of clichéd horror film from the blurb on the cover and I didn't expect to be watching it in the very near future. But it was one of those DVDs that keep popping up every time I looked through my shelf of dozens of other unwatched movies. Well the other evening, it popped up again and I just put it in the machine without giving it too much thought. As I wasn't in the mood for thinking anyway, it would probably be an ideal film.
