...was nothing in sight but desert. No buildings, no roads, no trees, no lakes, no rivers, just desert. I could actually see the viens of rivers that had dried out. The tributaries and main river patterns had left marks in the desert, but there was no water running through them.
The flight was around 5 hours from Manchester Airport and landing in SharmElSheikh airport. When stepping off the plane I was hit by a sudden rush of heat, it was beautiful.
The hotels in SharmElSheikh are extremely grand and are mostly all-inclusive. Our hotel (Iberotel Club Fanara) was beautiful. My family have no complaints on our accommodation, just points to praise about. We were one family of very few english people, and that is just what my family wanted, no offence but us English people can be really embarrassing on holiday. The hotel was eye...
Advantages: great weather for just a 5 1/2 hour flight, value for money Disadvantages: hassle from shopkeepers
...I was lucky enough to visit Sharm for free in March this year - one of the perks of being a travel agent is we occasionally get 'fam trips' which means we are taken to a destination and shown around numerous hotels and the sights so that we are able to sell it confidently when back home. These trips are really beneficial, and I think I certainly appreciate them more now I am self employed. So there was a group of about 10 of us and we visited about 6 hotels each day getting the full tour, camera and notebook in hand. I must admit the company we went with - Med Hotels - had a lot of clout in Sharm and we were treated like royalty wherever we went. In hindsight I suppose this may have given me a rose tinted view of the place as everything was done for us, we even got fastracked through the aiport avoiding the dreaded queue.

...Me and my partner just returned from a 8 days holiday in SharmelSheikh (Naama Bay). It was a wonderful experience - please read our review.
********** BOOKING **********
We booked via lastminute.com just 4 days before we went there - at £ 179 per person for 7 nights a real bargain. Included were:
- flight with Astraeus (charter airline) from and to Gatwick
- 7 nights accommodation incl. breakfast in the Ocean Bay Hotel
- transfer from and to the airport in SharmelSheikh
Travel insurance is included in our bank account arrangements, so we didn't need to buy. If you intend to go diving a lot, an extra insurance cover is advisable.
After the booking we got contacted by the travel agency ('Explorers' - specialist in diving holidays). The whole transaction went very smooth, no problems whatsoever. Two days before...
Advantages: Fabulous temperature and location, also cheap food. Disadvantages: harrassment by locals
...I have just returned from a 7day stay in the Royal Plaza Hotel in SharmElSheikh, Located near Naama Bay.
Location / FOOD (my main focus, lol)
The location of the hotel was excellent, it was a quick walk to the beach (around 8 mins). It is a 2 min walk from Naama Bay which has a whole host of places to eat, Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Fridays, KFC, Pizza Hut as well as many local restaurants and also services offered by the hotels in the naama bay area (crepes, pizza's ice cream etc) There are many bars in the area and also a big club (pacha).
Family Holiday?
I went with one of my friends and we wanted a relaxing holiday and it was perfect for us. Don't be fooled though, as relaxing as it can be there also seems to be a lot of things people can do who are up for a good time. Sharm is a good location for family fun, relaxing...

...We visited SharmelSheikh in November 2004 and we cannot wait to go back.
When arriving at the airport be aware that you must pay for a visa - which costs around £12GB per person and ensure that your passport has been stamped.
Collecting your lugguage from the carousel at the airport is an experience. Beware there are porters who will collect your luggage but expect to be paid even if you have been not asked him to do so. Keep your eyes open. There are also men with luggage trolleys again do not take them as they also expect to be tipped.
If however, you are getting a taxi to take you to your hotel in sharm then bargain with the driver, they will usually charge you about £5 GB. If he wants more just move on to the next driver. If you arrive in the dark the taxi drivers tend to drive with no lights on. If this happens just...

Review of SharmElSheikh (Egypt)
...We visited SharmElSheikh last year which is Egypts well known Red Sea resort. The food was fantastic, local dishes are a must to try.Sea food is a speciality, lobster and crayfish are hlaf the price they are in England. Also due to the favpurable exchange rate eating out is very cheap indeed, depending on where you go.You will surprisingly find mcdonalds, kfc and pizza hut as well if you really miss that processed junk food from home.
The snorkelling is absoloutely unmissable, you can take a diving course if you wish but we just found that snorkelling off of the beach was equally fantastic. If you are staying b and b in your hotel, take a bag to breakfast and put a few bread rolls in it and sneak off to feed the fish whilst you snorkel!Mind those parrott fish though,They have a huge coral breaking beak,so fingers are no problem.
The people...

The Grand Oasis is part of a chain of hotels in the holiday resort of SharmElSheikh or Sharm for short. The Grand Oasis is situated 15 minutes transfer from the airport in an area called Sharks Bay.

...Going on holiday to SharmElSheikh & not sure what to expect? Well read on..
I have recently been on holiday to SharmElSheikh and have to say I loved it.. though this was mainly because of the hotel I stayed in. (Hauza Beach Resort.) Most of the hotels in SharmElSheikh are 5 star and are therefore idyllic. They are situated by the sea and have large swimming pools for both children and adults. They are usually all inclusive, and the variety of food suits all pallets. The weather is perfect - I went in April and it was hot every day but the heat was bearable.. I hear it gets a little too hot over the summer so I recommend going in March and April (still at least 29degrees hot every day.) We stayed in the hotel most of the week and felt like we were living in luxury - most days were spent lounging by the pool and it was great that we...

...Destination: SharmElSheikh (Egypt)
When and Where: Sheraton Sharm - 28th Feb 05 for 2 weeks
Hotel Rating 7 out of 10.
Advantages: large beautiful complex with its own beach and coral reef, well-equipped rooms (satellite TV, fridge, Air con) and in good order. Hotel runs a shuttle bus to main resort
Disadvantages: Need to get a Taxi to main resort (~£3 to £4 British money each way), No entertainment at night and no water sold in complex unless purchased at bar (so they can charge more)
Excursions Purchased:
·Cairo by Air - ~£185p/p (Flight to Cairo is at approximately 6am, Return flight about 6pm). Destinations - Museum, Pyramids (GIZA), Citadel, Hard Rock Café (lunch included in cost). Excellent value for money and overall brilliant day. Cairo Airport is poorly organized so expect delays.

Cost Of Holiday To SharmElSheikh
Our holiday cost us £575 per person for 11 nights at the Hilton Sharks Bay hotel staying on an all inclusive basis. Considering that we were all inclusive so in theory you have no need to spend any money once you are there, I thought the price was very reasonable.
Weather In Sharm
It?s absolutely baking hot in Sharm. We have just got back (end of May) and it was in the 40?s for most of our stay and these sort of temperatures continue throughout June, July and August. The sky is so clear and it a beautiful shade of blue with no a cloud in sight.
You will need to be very careful that you do not burn, my skin is fairly used to the sun but I used so much sun cream while we were out there as you can literally feel the sun burning your skin if you...
