Norbreck Castle Hotel - Blackpool
Advantages: Late bar and all you can eat food
Disadvantages: Too far to the town
...My friends and I decided to have a weekend away because it was one of their birthdays. We booked for a two-night weekend break at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool through National Coach Holidays on 19 November 2004. The brochure described the break as being ?All inclusive? and we looked forward to fact that we would be able to drink copious amounts of alcohol for free (and why not!).
We paid £89.00 for two night?s dinner, bed and breakfast with drinks also included from 7.30pm ? 10.30pm in one of the three bars in the hotel.
When we arrived at 1.30pm we were met in the lobby with a poster telling us that we were unable to check in until 3.30pm, this was our first mishap. The décor in the lobby was okay and the hotel on the surface seemed rather nice. We made our way to the bar (as you do), to kill a couple of hours...

The Elgin hotel, Blackpool
Advantages: lovely food and good service from the waiters
Disadvantages: Everthing else about the place
...I have already done a review about Blackpool, and I absolutely love the place, we went to Blackpool two years ago on a family holiday, myself husband and three kids. We booked our holiday through The Belfast Telegraph travel agentsand we went through Ulster Bus tours, the price was £800 approx this included traveling expenses and the hotel.(Bed, breakfast and evening meal). The hotel was the Elgin and we were told that this was a great hotel for families.
Arriving at the hotel
We arrived at our hotel at about 7.30pm and had to que at the reception to get our keys this I didnt mind but our dinner was at 7.45pm and we still had to get our luggage to our room, we got our luggage sorted and went down for dinner, the food was beautiful and the service from the waiters was fantastic.
First impressions of the hotel
Well there was...

Choice Hotels in Blackpool
Advantages: Well appointed,clean, kids club,spacious,good food,friendly staff
Disadvantages: None
...I know, I know, Blackpool is perceived as fish'n'chips, bucket and spades, amusement arcades, B&B's. What about something different?
Choice Hotels in Blackpool run 3 hotels - The Claremont (near the North Pier), the Talk of The North (near South Pier) and the Cliffs Hotel (North Promenade just up from Gynn Square).
My family and I have stayed at the Cliffs Hotel on 6 occasions, ranging from weekend breaks to full weeks. Why? The hotel is large and well appointed - it has a 1920's feel about the facade and interior and is very clean and spacios. There are 5 bars and a large resturant. The food is excellent with a very good selection - the staff are very helpful and friendly.
There is a well appointed leisure club - free to residents. It has a pool, jacuzzi, small but very good gym, sauna, sunbeds and a leisure club bar. It...

Claremont Hotel, Blackpool
Advantages: Lovely staff, great location, Facilities, Cost!
Disadvantages: Ummm...oh, parking.
...We have stayed in both the Claremont Hotel and their Motel apartments, both of which we had a great time. A group of us decided that we would take a trip down to Blackpool during the summer for a weekend stay from Friday - Sunday. We browsed through loads of hotels with one thing in mind - PRICE!
For the 2 nights staying at the Motel it cost £75 each - but check the website to get an up to date tariff. The £75 was for the room only - we didn't want to pay for bed and breakfast, we just get breakfast if we fancy it, or are awake when it is being served! The hotel has a Motel in a separate building to the back of the hotel, which is laid out like a block of flats. Pricing of food and drinks from the bar is very fair, but you would be cheaper in a pub (as with most hotels).
We went to Blackpool in August, and were lucky to have...

A bleak Blackpool hotel
Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review
... Background
When Mrs B and I decided that we would take Baby B on her first seaside holiday we knew that Blackpool was tacky so knew that it wasn't exactly sparkling and the place it used to be but we thought we would go along anyway and try and have a little family break with our 3 month old baby. It all seemed like a really good idea but seeing as we were not the most rich of new parents we thought we'd do it on as much as a budget as possible and after trawling through the internet we came across Liberty's and decided that it sounded ideal. The fact that it included dinner in with the deal was really what swung it for us, we didn't fancy walking around for hours in an evening trying to find somewhere to eat with a young baby in tow.
First opinion
When we first saw the hotel we immediately thought what have we done...

ARUNDEL HOTEL, BLACKPOOL
Advantages: Quiet location,competitive rates,clean & homely
Disadvantages: Distance from Blackpool centre, hospitality (see below, my verdict)
...I visited Blackpool with my husband and our two children during the Easter holidays, we stayed for three days and two nights in a three star hotel in the North pier area of Blackpool. We won our stay on an Ebay auction but the hotel can also obviously be booked in a more traditional manner (by phone, post or email).

Norbreck Castle Hotel - Armish Paradise
Advantages: It has 18 wheeler in the arcade!
Disadvantages: It has secret communes of people hidden away...
...desk to the celing were noticably unclean. Everything which was supposed to be white was actually a wonderful tinge of yellow, as if people had chainsmoked in there since 1832. Which was probably the case.
We wanderd off the centre of Blackpool on a tram (which was a considerable journey I can tell you!) and went to the fairground.
We had to leave our luggage in a large, 1960s style room. We assumed someone would have locked it, but on our return we simply opened the door and picked up our bags. Nobody challenged us or anything, which was strange considering the room was full of people's stuff. Anyway, we were told that dinner would be served at 18:30. So we checked in (at last) and were given our room card. This was suprising, as the hotel did not give the impression of being advanced enough to have such technology. We got the lift up to...

A Long Weekend in Blackpool @ the Grand Metropole
Advantages: Clean and generally friendly hotel, very reasonable prices
Disadvantages: Rooms need ventilation
...Are you seated comfortably? This is a long review of my stay at Blackpool?s Grand Metropole.
WHAT AND WHERE?
The Grand Metropole Hotel, Blackpool boasts that it is the only hotel in Blackpool located between the sea and Blackpool promenade which is certainly the truth. From the hotel there are fabulous views of the Irish Sea. The hotel is fairly close to both the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is within walking distance from many of Blackpool's attractions. There are numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots within a few minutes walking distance of the hotel, some even less than a minute away.
BOOKING PROCESS/RECEPTION
We booked in for 3 nights in late June 2009. The booking process was easy enough by telephone and although I asked for a confirmation email to be sent and was advised they would do send one; no...

A quieter side to Blackpool.
Advantages: Clean, friendly and great value for money.
Disadvantages: None worthy of mention during my two night stay.
...I am not long back from a weekend trip to Blackpool but as I have already reviewed the hotel I stayed in, as I had stayed there before, I thought I would rewind to a business trip I had to Blackpool last year and a nice hotel I stayed in then.
The hotel in question for my business trip was the Belgrave Madison hotel, this hotel was recommended to me by a friend and I was very happy with his recommendation. My friend had told me of the great service, friendly atmosphere and the disconnection with what Blackpool is all about (ie) noise and hustle and bustle, and he was 100% correct.
The hotel is situated in a much quieter part of Blackpool, it sits on the queen?s promenade, north shore, it is actually right on the join of Blackpool and Bispham, it is set on the cliffs and has a beautiful sea view and whether the weather is good...

Our Blackpool Trip
Advantages: Excellent staff - especially at breakfast, reception staff especially Stewart also very helpful and friendly
Disadvantages: Food was basic, parking - got blocked in and could not move our own car!
...Me, my Mum, my Brother and my boyfriend all set off for a family trip to Blackpool. Attracted by the Cliffs facilities for the money we decided on booking it. Well we were extremely happy, I strongly advised entering the basement, kids soft play area, table tennis, arcade games, pool, snooker, swimming pool and gym! You'd never believe it would all fit down there!
The rooms were clean, the toilets would have been too small to sit on if I was a few dress sizes bigger!!
The food at breakfast was fresh and hot but was limited.
The only disappointment is when we found our car blocked in as other guests had not left their keys at reception. It was ridiculous that we wouldn't move our own car!! However the hotel did try it's best and transported us themselves to and from the restaurant we had intended to eat at.
Overall great fun...
