Hotel Felix Cambridge - Great !

Advantages: Great food and accomodation, lots of facilities

...We recently stayed at the Hotel Felix in Cambridge for the weekend and we had such a fantastic time so i thought as no one had written a review yet that maybe i should be the first!. The hotel is really easy to find and its only about a mile from cambridge city centre.. Hotel Felix is a traditional, large victorian building on the outside but its really modern looking on the inside. The hotel stands in really spacious surroundings and it has a large terrace and lovely gazebo for outside dining which is lovely especially when the weathers nice. We found all the staff to be very professional and friendly and we got checked in very quickly - about 5 minuites in total. De Vere hotel in the centre of Cambridge!

Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly
Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area

...there start from about £110 but you can pay for for the suites with the four poster beds which are lovely. You do have to pay to park as well which is quite annoying, it is £14 a day which is quite expensive but is what you get with hotels in the city. Cambridge itself has lots of great things to do, the shops are good and then of course there is all teh old university buildings to look around, take a trip down the river cam etc. They have a ncie restaurant called 17 which is adjacent to the htoel and there is also a bar as well with excellent big couches that you can slop on and a lovely fire. The rooms were fairly big, all on suite and room service went til quite late. The decor inside is quite oldy world, with lots of dark wood but very nicely maintained. ...Cambridge! Ah - what utter bliss! To a former Oxford student, it's known, somewhat scornfully, as "The other place". Fun rivalry, I guess! I've often been convinced that it's actually more beautiful, with fewer social problems. Visit both, but if you're only going to visit ONE of the UK's great university cities, I'm going to make no judgements. Make your own choice. Both our great. It was our (cough!) 14th wedding anniversary and I decided to treat the gorgeous Amanda to a night away in a nice hotel. Sleepless in Cambridge

Advantages: Good location - close to city centre and train station
Disadvantages: can be noisy at night

...I was going on a trip to cambridge, and needed somewhere to stay for a few nights. I was going on a budget so needed somewhere fairly reasonably priced, clean with an ensuite bathroom, and with a good location. I found sleeperz, a modern converted train depot. In terms of location, it is ideal - and is quite reasonable for the price. However, it can get quite noisy at night (esp if you keep your windows open to cool down the room in summer), also rolling suitcases and high heals on the noisy corrider at 3am don't exactly guarentee a good nights sleep. The rooms are very small and basic, okay if you don't plan to do much more than sleep in your room. ...The Cambridge Pub Liverpool The Cambridge located just between Liverpool and John Moores University is generally a quiet small pub where some students hang out. Mostly the ones who live on campus and is basically their local. The Cambridge serves a good variety of lagers and bitters but nothing stands out as a classic beer of this pub. The Cambridge is one of the more expensive places to drink on campus but is generally cheap for visitors to Liverpool. In the summer the Cambridge is a very nice lace to sit out on their benches just of Abercromby Square which is a bit of a heat trap. I remember lots of enjoyable afternoons their. The Cambridge does not have a pool table or darts and rarely plays music is a place to go for a quiet chat....

Gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Toronto

Advantages: Lovely large, clean rooms

...I visited this hotel with my then-boyfriend in March a couple of years back and I can't fault it. We booked it through Travelscope - a travel agent that advertises its promotional rates in the paper. I was a bit wary of this, but I had nothing to worry about, everything went smoothly and they had some really good optional trips organised, including a trip to Niagara Falls which was included in the price. We chose to upgrade to this 4 star hotel from a 3 star as it didn't work out that much more expensive and the room facilities seemed a lot better. We weren't disappointed - we had 2 seperate rooms in our suite, a bedroom with 2 double beds, leading onto a spacious bathroom, with a shower, toilet and bath, and the sink in a seperate area, with classy marble sides and a huge mirror. We had lovely soft fluffy white towels...

Disadvantages: MIGHT be bad for your health

...I went on the Cambridge diet last summer and lost 3 stones. I was once 12 st 12 & I went down to as light as 9 st 9, which is a really healthy weight for my height (5 ft 5). Fit for a Royal visit??

...Cambridge is a city of austere and imposing architecture and although the Georgian(?) exterior of this hotel is a flat, grey and not the prettiest around (last time I looked a couple of the letters were missing from the name too) the interior is luxurious and well designed. I stayed here for one night in the Queen's Room, a tastefully decorated (If you like the Victorian look) medium sized room on the ground floor. According to my boyfriend who booked it, it was a "special" room so I expect the others were perhaps not as large, although there is a King's Room next door. The bed was comfy, and all the usual facilities were present: TV, hairdryer, Tea and Coffee although there was no minibar. Room service meals are reasonably priced and there are pay per view films on the TV. I am frequently disappoionted by hotel bathrooms but ours...
