Advantages: Near theatre, great service, massive menu, beautiful fresh food, happy hour menu
Disadvantages: out of town centre, some dishes quite expensive, can get busy.

...For my Mother's birthday I bought a ticket for her to see Cabaret, the live tour. Of course she couldn't go alone, so I bought myself one too. We decided to make a real night of it by eating out first. Adriano's in Carlisle was the perfect choice being just 2 minutes away from the venue. A decent city centre location

...My job involves a lot of travelling & my company sets a limit of £65.00 a night for basic accommodation. As you well imagine that sum of money rules out the plush five star hotel chains that are situated all over the country. In some cases I have to negotiate a deal or surrender to another dreaded Travelodge. I needed to be in Carlisle first thing on the 3rd January & wanted a city centre hotel on the evening of the 2nd. I contacted the Lakes Court Hotel in Carlisle who normally charge £75.00 a night plus breakfast & negotiated a figure of £65.00 including breakfast. Its location was perfect, it's right in the city centre adjacent to the main door of the railway station. Finding the hotel at 5pm on a busy weekday in the dark turned out to be easier than I imagined, even without sat nav you just follow the signs for the railway...

...We recently travelled up to Scotland from Devon and on the way up needed to break up the journey. We stopped at Southwaite Travelodge on the M6. The Travelodge is right beside the southbound motorway between junctions 41 and 42. There is access from each side of the motorway and you have to drive under to motorway from the northbound side. It is 8 miles from Carlisle PRICE ++++++ We paid £50 for a non-smoking room which we booked online back in February. The current price is £51 or £54. BOOKING ++++++++ We booked online, which was very easy. You enter the date and number of nights, click away and it tells you what is available. The room is reserved with your credit card payment and they take payment when you arrive. Rooms can be booked up to 12 months in advance and sometimes they have super savers of £10 or £26...

...I started to support Carlisle United on Boxing Day 2005, and from that moment, I was hooked onto League football instead of Premiership football. After supporting them for a few months, towards the end of last season, I decided it was time to buy a Carlisle United shirt. I had the choice of the home shirt and the away shirt. I decided that as it would be unlikely I would go to many away games, as I live quite high in the North, away from most other football stadiums, I would buy the home shirt as I would probably only go to home games. So here is my review on the Carlisle United Home Shirt! DESIGN The Carlisle shirt has a very good design indeed. In fact it is a surprisingly well-designed shirt that was used when they were in the lowly League 2. I am sure that many other lower league teams do not have shirts designed as well...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

The Strand Palace Hotel

...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

...Released for the 07/08 this Carlisle United home kit features a slightly different design to previous kits. Carlisle United, a club associated with Blue as their colours have had a plain blue top (not including sleeves or trim here) for around the last 5, 6 years, but this new kit, made by Le cog Sportif took a slightly different approach. This kit features three colours, With a blue area on the left, with white next to that and with the red trim (its an extended trim) on the right hand side. These sections are cut diagonally and run all the way down into the shorts aswell. The sleeves are blue. The kit therefore is not Symettrical colour wise like most kits, but personally I think it looks great.
