Fantastic Luxury Hotel in Dubai

Advantages: Everything - a real experience hotel
Disadvantages: Cost - A little too far from Town for easy shopping/eating out

...The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons. The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star hotel - this is something that has to be taken with a pinch of salt, hotel stars are usually awarded by national tourist authorities and in my opinion are rarely an indication of quality or value for money. Disadvantages: beach is a bus ride away.

The hotel opened in July 2003 ? so everything inside was brand new. It is about 200 metres tall and has 43 storeys. we booked this hotel as part of a package. It cost £100 a night for a premier room. We dont normally spend so much, however it was our first year wedding anniversary . Sheikh Zayed Road is the business, commercial and financial area of Dubai. Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere.

...My first sighting of Jumeira Beach Hotel was so magnificent that it will stay with you forever. The Hotel is just 20 minutes drive from Dubai Airport. It is classed as the second best hotel in the World with the hotel that was voted first standing right next to it. The first is Burj al arab. So to see these two Hotels together is something else. We arrived at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel at 9.30 am and checking in time is midday. They take your bags, details and passports in case you use "extras" such as drinks room service etc as you wont need your passports till you leave. If in Dubai, stay at The Hilton Jumeirah!

Advantages: Beautiful beach hotel in the most buzzing area of Dubai!
Disadvantages: There is still construction surrounding the hotel, but everywhere has to start somewhere.

...Before I go into the details of the hotel itself and the available facilities, I would like to say that I have been a resident in Dubai for 11 years now and have seen everything this hotel has been through from its own construction, the problems it faced with the jumeirah beach residence project right through to today! The Hilton, built in an area that used to be considered as 'out in the middle of nowhere' is now very much apart of what is soon likely to be the centre of Dubai, the Dubai Marina. This is the new, futuristic, modern end of the Emirate of Dubai and is where it all happens.
