Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport

Advantages: near to airport a comfortable hotel and affordable
Disadvantages: none

...***Introduction*** I had a flight booked from Manchester to Rhodes three weeks ago but unfortunately the check in time was 5.30 am. I really needed to be refreshed on my arrival because it was a business trip so I decided to check into Bewleys Hotel the night before, I have on previous occasions driven from home to the airport and found it very tedious and stressful normally leaving me feeling like a washed up dish rag by the time I arrived at my destination. ***The Hotel*** It is situated about three minutes walk from terminal 3 but also provides a 24 hour shuttle service to all the terminals. I actually travelled by train to the airport and on arrival I located the free phone in the main concourse to contact the shuttle service, they picked me up within five minutes which impressed me no end. It is a large...

Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel

Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy

...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though... The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off... For food...

Super hotel in the heart of Manchester

Advantages: Location, staff, nice rooms
Disadvantages: Expensive

...I have had the pleasure of staying here on business on several occasions. My mother?s family come from Manchester so I always really enjoy visiting Manchester. About the hotel: The Arora Manchester is a four star hotel with over 140 bedrooms. It?s part owned by Cliff Richard and there are even five special Cliff bedrooms decorated with his memorabilia if you like that kind of thing! The location on Princess Street is also excellent as you are in the city centre and only 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly station if you arrive by train. It?s also about a 20-minute journey from the airport, which is also very convenient. The hotel doesn?t have it?s own car park but apparently guests can use the nearby NCP to park at a discounted rate. First Impressions: It?s an old fashioned looking building but it also looks quite grand. It is also...

Ruling in Manchester now too?

Advantages: reasonable price if booked in advance
Disadvantages: none really

...As with my previous recent reviews this forms a part of my need to get a life ethos, and even though I live a short distance from Manchester on a planned night out on the town I decided it was better worth my time staying over than drunkely seeking the nightbus home. So armed with my trusty cashback paying link to a hotelbooking site I found this one for the night. I paid £50 for a doubleroom with no food included, the hotels standard rate is around £66 so a considerable saving especially given I only booked a few days before I wanted to stay. The hotel itself is seconds from Picadilly Gardens which is the location of a large bus station and a tram stop which runs between the two main train stations, it is also a few minutes walk from the main Bus Station in the city where the National Express coaches stop. The hotel has...

Manchester Hotel

Advantages: Godd value
Disadvantages: none

...Holiday Inn Express Salford Quays is situated in a very nice location on the waterfront, my room looked out over the renovated canals and docklands which was good. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful in giving us local information and directions. All the staff were helpful and friendly ( even when we managed to lock ourselves out of our room!) The room was modern and very clean with plenty of coffee, cups , towels etc Breakfast was as good - plenty of seating, nice dining room, and good length of hours on the Sunday morning in which to get it. Location-wise, it's about 14 minutes on the Metrolink tram from Manchester Piccadilly station on the Eccles line, and from there about a 4-minute walk. Taxi from the city cost us £10 late on Saturday evening, as the Metrolink finishes at 12.30am. Overall I...

Manchester Britannia Airport Hotel

Advantages: free parking
Disadvantages: see review

...I would like to take this opportunity in sharing my experience in the Manchester Airport Hotel. My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds. Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large towel could be located in the wardrobe. I rang reception and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. Within 2 minutes the night Manager rang back and suggested that I "look in the wardrobe". Having stated that I had indeed already done this, the "manager" started a debate with me. Here I quote from the hotel services hotel information brochure "An additional set...

sachas hotel

Advantages: good price,great location
Disadvantages: no window

...****Sachas hotel- Manchester**** I booked this hotel last minute as i had a job interview in Manchester and needed somewhere quite cheap ,that was also near the centre. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located in Tibb street which is a 2 minute walk from Piccadily Gardens or 10 minutes away from Chorlton street bus station. The Train station is a little bit further away say maybe a twenty minute walk but i don't think that this is that bad .You can also get a tram from Piccadily gardens and this goes to quite a few places. You could also get a taxi to the hotel but i am not sure what parking is like if you were to take your own car. **Reception/staff** Since i had never been to Manchester before i phoned and asked the staff for directions -they were very nice and helped me out. When i got there i think i got the same...

Our Days in Manchester

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, good food, handy for the hospital
Disadvantages: We had one or two problems - see review

...As those of you who have been reading my 'about me' information will know, we have recently had to stay in Manchester to be near my mom who had to go into Manchester Royal Infirmary for an operation, which never happened as she wasn't strong enough to survive the anaesthetic but that's another story. As I had a lot of arrangements to make Dave decided to take over and find us a suitable hotel for the duration. He wanted to find something really nice but at a reasonable price as this was likely to be the nearest either of us would get to a holiday this year as I am full time carer to mom who has dementia. Anyway after much searching he finally found The Days Hotel at the end of Sackville Street nearest to the Mancunian Way and thus nearest to the Manchester Royal Infirmary. *** The Booking *** We decided to book a Work Zone...

Stunning hotel both inside and out

Advantages: The room, the price, everything really except the car park
Disadvantages: The car park!

...Thought I would share my experience staying at this hotel last year. When I originally booked I just wanted a standard room, unfortunately they were all booked so the person on the phone said I could have a family room, which would be the same price. The hotel is a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with Manchester city centre, however the main problem is the car park - TOTAL NIGHTMARE!! CAR PARK It's way too small for the number of guests and gets full immediately (first come first served basis). When I arrived around 5pm it was full and I was not the only person disppointed. However the hotel had employed someone to direct you to another carpark, the problem was he was as much use as a chocolate teapot!! He was difficult to understand (I'm not against foreign people working in the UK), but when you've been in a car...

The hotel from hell

Advantages: Central Location
Disadvantages: Awful room, dirty breakfast area including cutlery, poor staff, noisey

...I had the misfortune to stay at the Britannia Hotel during september of last year. Having stayed in a fair few hotels in my time I was gobsmacked by the appaling way it was run and feel I would like to review the hotel to warn any potential customers of the pitfalls. My experience I ended up at the Britannia as the company I work for was running groups regionally and the agency we work with selected the Britannia for its reasonable rates and central location. Because I was to spend my evening watching the focus groups I thought why not book a room in this place too. I dearly wish I'd had more sense and gone to the lovely Malmaison done the road. But you can always say that with hindsite. From the road the Britannia looks pretty good. Its a large stone clad old building, the sort of building you'd look at Architectually...
