cheap hotel in glasgow
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --
...**** Argyll Hotel****
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff.
**Hotel/Room**
Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows .

Campanile Hotel, Glasgow
Advantages: nice rooms
Disadvantages: nothing major
...After deciding to take a trip to Glasgow for a few days, my husband and I set out to find a good value hotel. After looking at the usual Travelodges and Premier Travel Inns, we came across the Campanile hotel which is like the French version of Travelodge. It was 52 pounds a night and had a secure car park, something which we found very good as parking in Glasgow tends to be quite expensive. Although the price was good we decided to shop around and managed to book 3 nights for 122 pounds on Expedia.
The location of the hotel was very good as it was in the newly upgraded and developed area near the SECC and surrounding the hotel was luxury apartments, the new Clyde Arc bridge, the new STV and BBC Scotland studios and the SECC and Glasgow Science Centre. It was 20 minutes walking to the Kelvingrove Art Museum and the Transport...

Abode hotel glasgow.
Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.
...Well i must say what a wonderful hotel.
Me and my girlfriend booked a night at Abode glasgow on new years eve and loved it so much we booked a second night in the morning just after we enjoyed the best breakfast we had for years. We both live in glasgow but wanted a nice hotel to go back to after enjoying the new year celebrations in george square. We just could not be botherd with the hasle getting home. It is bad enough getting a taxi on a normal saturday night, think what it would be like with ten thousand all trying to get a taxi at the one time.
I loved the way the hotel has been decorated. It is very modern but they have kept alot of the old features. Including a very old life in the centre of the hotel, with a very modern water feature flowing right down the lift framework. I think it is fantastic that they have kept all...

TULIP INN HOTEL, GLASGOW - SUPERB
Advantages: Close to the heart of Glasgow
Disadvantages: None that I could see
...Hi there, I hope this review is of use to you. Please do leave a rating at the end of the review and any feedback you may have.
I stayed in this hotel for a weekend and thought I would share my views -
**********LOCATION*********
This hotel is in a great location. It only took us about 5 minutes to walk to the main shopping area and about 10 minute walk from Glasgow Central Railway station. The transfer from the aiport only took us 10 mins and cost us £6.29 return with Citylink Buses.
**********COST***********
We thought it was brilliant value for money at only £60 per room per night.
***********ROOMS***********
This hotel is a newly built modern property. Our room was lovely and spacious with a fantastic power shower, modem points, free wifi, satellite tv, iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. The bed...

Glasgow Thistle - Never again!
Advantages: Pleasant Staff
Disadvantages: Small rooms, dirty, run down, expensive and very limited menu.
...I have just spent eight weeks at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel. They were the worst eight weks of my life so far and it was all down to the hotel.
On our first night at the hotel, our group arrived at about 1am in the morning after a flight delay. The night staff quickly and efficiently allocated us our rooms which were located on the first floor. As i got into my room, i was aware of a groaning noise coming from the window area. On looking out the window, i realised that our rooms were next to the hotels air conditioning units. I was so tired at this point that i did not request to be moved, as i was being picked up for my course at 8.30 am. the room was equipped with two single beds, which appeared slightly smaller than standard. I got into the first one only to realise that the matress was so old that i had sunk into the middle of it...

Top Hotel at Excellent Prices
Advantages: Great Food, Family Friendly, Relaxed atmosphere, Great Value.
Disadvantages: Not very appealing from the exterior
...The Glasgow Swallow is a well equipped comfortable and friendly Hotel, located a short distance outside the city centre but in an area with some of Glasgow's best attractions. It is an excellent choice for families and great value for money.
I have been to the Swallow in Glasgow with my family many times. From the outside the hotel is quite unimpressive, inside is a different story. It is well decorated and well laid out. As you walk in the door you have a reception desk in front of you, the dining room, bar and lounge to the left and lift, stairs to rooms and ballroom to the right. The main entrance has a small fountain, disabled access and is under an overhead walkway. Opposite the main door is the entrance to the leisure suite, which has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and small gym. The leisure suite also provides beauty treatments, so...

Overall we had a nice stay at Ramada Jarvis Glasgow
Advantages: Excellent location
Disadvantages: Some of the staff could be more pleasant
...My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights recently, here is my review:
Cleanliness: Room and rest of the hotel was not only clean but literally sparkling, its just a shame that the carpets upstairs seemed old, out of fashion and grubby although they were hoovered, it would be nice to see modern fresh carpets there one day to compliment the rest of the hotel.
Room: Spotless everywhere, the bathroom was sparkling, the bed consisted of a crisp white duvet and not sheets & wool blanket which you get in some places! Extra pillows and towels stored away, tea & coffee including decaf and herbal, nice! Not exactly a wardrobe but a space in the wall to hang 4 or 5 items, iron/board, widescreen TV with internet, keyboard, telephone, movies, quality hair dryer was so good i had to jot down the name of it to buy for myself! Unpleasant view...

Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow
Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none
...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend.
The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home.
The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep.
We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice.
Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from...

Cheap & Cheerful, but bad bacon and a toilet ghost.....
Advantages: Cheap, Fantastic Location, Room fine
Disadvantages: Noises in toilet, rather dubious breakfast
......................................................
Intro
Having had a bad journey to work (train derailed the day before because it was too hot), and knowing that 2 days later I was going to be relying on the early train to get me to Carlisle in time to get my connection to Glasgow for a self-harm conference (with about 10 minutes to spare), I decided that I couldn?t risk it and needed to book a hotel for the night before.
I had two options - stay in Carlisle and get the train on Thursday morning that I had already paid for, or go straight to Glasgow from work on Wednesday evening and buy another and more expensive train ticket. I opted for the latter, knowing how annoyed I?d be when waiting at Carlisle station on Thursday morning and seeing the train I would have been coming in on, coming in perfectly on time!

Glasgow Marriott Hotel: central and funky
Advantages: Another great hotel in the Marriott chain
Disadvantages: No sports facilities
...Another Marriott review from me I am afraid as just returned form the Marriott Glasgow Hotel on business! It was the first time that I have stayed at this particular Marriott hotel but again I was very impressed by the standard of the hotel, rooms, staff and cleanliness. Some people have said that these hotels are expensive compared with other brands but I think that it is worth paying a littel bit more as with Marriott you always get excellent, comfortbale hotels with very good staff who always go that extra mile to hepl guests to feel at home.
This is not the nicest looking Marriott from the outisde as it is a bit of a 70s building but it's much better once you get inside!
Location:
The hotel is very easy to get to by car and is just a few minutes drive off the M8 motorway. It then only takes about 5 or 10 minutes to walk...
