Lovely Liverpool Lodgings!
Advantages: Clean comfortable, cheap, good location
Disadvantages: poor selection of drinks in bar, low standard of service
...Hotel Campanile (a French chain) is now well established as a chain throughout the United Kingdom so when I was looking for a room at quite short notice in Liverpool I did not hesitate to reserve one here despite the fact that I had never stayed in one before.
Of the chain hotels which came up when I searched on the internet, this was the cheapest and the excellent location meant that I did not have to compromise. The main shopping area is just a few minutes away and tourist attractions such as The Beatles Story, the Tate Liverpool and The Albert Dock are practically on the door-step.
The Liverpool hotel is situated well-back from the main road which stretches along the rejuvenated docks area of the city. This means that you have the convenience of the location without any of the traffic noise. We arrived in the city by train...

Classy Liverpool Marriott
Advantages: Central, clean, helpful staff, good facilities
Disadvantages: Price of food!
...Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Marriott for one night back in March 2007.
The reception area in the Marriott is very nice and extremely clean.
When checking in the receptionist was very friendly, offering us extra services and any help/advice we needed for our stay.
The conceirge was also very polite, helping us in the lift and offering us help with our bags.
The actual room was great, a lovely view looking onto some of Liverpool's historic buildings and the bed was very comfortable. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was also very nice.
We had a meal in the hotel and although the service was second to none, and the meal was beautiful, the pricing was extremely high. We would not eat in the hotel if we stayed again as there are many lovely restaurants close by the hotel offering much greater value. The meal...

Once upon a time, in Liverpool...
Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working
...This time during the month of Beatlemania, instead of just writing about the bands albums, films and death theories, I wanted to write about some of the ways in which Liverpool still celebrate the lives of their favourite sons (beside the football players!). Although Ringo made a few disparaging comments towards his hometown a year or two ago, the phrase ?everyone has to start somewhere? springs to mind and ? although I may be a little bias ? I would have to say that Liverpool is very much the land of opportunity compared to where I live!
Right at the heart of the city is Albert Dock, a place now surrounded by various shops, museums and even a hotel with the Echo Arena mere feet away. When I was very little, perhaps six, I remember Mummy and Daddy, as they were affectionately called back then, taking my Brother and I right near...

Cons

* Mini bar prices are expensive
My opinion
First impressions
The first thing that you will notice about the hotel is how beautiful the hotel is whether it be from the outside or the inside it?s really beautiful.
The rooms
The rooms are wonderful; I was staying in a family room and was very impressed (I managed to get a family deal even know they were only 2 of us, I got this by booking at a hours notice). Our room had two double beds, a comfortable chair and a table. On inspection you will notice how spacious and airy the rooms are. The rooms have just...

Liverpool Football Club
Advantages: Great squad, great fans, great manager, great history
Disadvantages: No league title for 16 years
...the bad spotlight. He quickly regained his form and produced a man of the match performance against Manchester United to help Liverpool win the Worthington Cup.
More recently he has produced heroics that surely nobody could forget in the Champions League final. After seeming dead and buried at 3-0 down at half time Liverpool somehow levelled it with a magnificent second half performance. Extra time saw Jerzy make one of the best double saves ever from Andriy Shevchenko with just seconds on the clock. He then went on to produce heroics in the penalty shoot out and the rest, as they say, is history.
2. Jan Kromkamp
Born on 17th August 1980 in Makkinga, Holland, Jan is a recent addition to the squad. He started out with Go Ahead Eagles in 1998 and, after making 61 appearances, was snapped up by AZ Alkmaar. He rose to prominence thanks to...

Odeon - Liverpool's Number One
Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
...I am a huge cinema fan, and living in the centre of Birmingham for the last couple of years has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One,
Odeon Liverpool One
Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation.
There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas across the UK (I tried to count, but it's a lot!). The website has a cinema finder to help you locate your nearest. For this review I shall be talking about Odeon, Liverpool ONE.
When Liverpool ONE was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found...

Lively Liverpool
Advantages: I live here
Disadvantages: Some shops aren't here, the weather
...away but well worth it on a sunny day.
WEATHER:
This is the main disadvantage. Liverpool is in the North & on the coast therefore it is often breezy and cold. It seems to rain a lot. Even on the rare summer days it can be quite breezy, especially at Albert Dock.
PLACES TO STAY:
Obviously I can't vouch for how good they are as I live here. I have stayed in the Adelphi hotel for 2 nights and found it to be satisfactory, although over-priced.

SINK IT WITH THE TITANIC
Advantages: Some good features
Disadvantages: See review
...It was a birthday treat for my son to go to Liverpool, so with destination chosen we simply needed our hotel. Looking through the super break site we come across the Adelphi hotel, it was historically interesting; the hotel was built for the passengers of the Titanic and has been restored with great care (apparently).
So now to tell my tale of my visit to the Adelphi?
We arrived at Liverpool Lime street station and soon found the way out onto Lime Street, as we walked along the street our first impressions weren?t good. The city seemed dirty and run down and not inviting at all: We carried on walking and within a couple of minutes we had arrived at the hotel.
The first thing you noticed it the fact it is stand a lone, with roads running in front, and to the two sides: while at the rear another part of the hotel (bars I think...

Liverpool in trouble
Advantages: One of the biggest clubs in Europe...
Disadvantages: ...going through their worst run in 50 years.
...Picture the scene; it's early November and after a 2-0 win against West Ham, Liverpool went seven points clear at the top of the Premiership and were striding towards a place in the next round of the Champions League, it appeared that it would have to take something very special to knock them out of their stride. Three months on and defeats to the likes of Middlesborough and Sunderland have seen Liverpool slump down the Premiership with no wins in eleven games and an early exit from the Champion League at the hands of little known Swiss club Basle. So where has it all gone wrong for the mighty reds?
Every pundit, fan and his dog has had their two pence worth. Excuses and reasons range from poor management and lack of commitment from the players, to wrong formation and wrong players. I think the problem is much simpler...

UPDATED Liverpool FC Treble winners 2001
Advantages: On their Day can Beat absolutely ANYONE
Disadvantages: Cant we just win something the easy way for once
...Oh well, I think its about time I re-wrote my opinion on Liverpool, I wrote the original opinion earlier in the season, when we where showing terrible inconsistency, but it seems this got sorted out, as we went on to win a “HISTORIC TREBLE”, by winning the Worthington Cup, The FA Cup and the U.E.F.A Cup, a fete that has never been done by any English team, and hopefully we can round off a great season on Saturday, by gaining the third Champions League place, by beating Charlton Athletic.
The Worthington cup was won in Cardiff on the 25th of February, by beating a very brave and committed Birmingham City, who took us all the way to penalties, after the match ended 1-1 after extra-time, maybe this was the warning to us Liverpool fans, that if we won this Treble, it would be at the cost of our Health and Sanity, as this was...
