The Garden of England
Advantages: All in opinion
Disadvantages: All in opinion
...The image of Kent as the garden of England probably grew out of tales passed on by travellers who marvelled at the acres of Spring fruit blossom beside north Kent roads.Kent is one of the most conservative counties in England. It is the largest non-metropolitan county in the country but its complexity results more from its long history and its unusual geaography.Country crafts are still strong, village life is probably the strongest in Southern England.
Kent has five parts quite distict in their appearance, outlook and style.
1)North & East Kent:Almost flattened by history, this part of Kent runs North of the North Downs from Dartford through the Medway towns and the Isle of Sheppey to the now land-locked Isle of Thanet, including Canterbury, and down the coast to Dover. Here the historic associations remain - this is the territory...

Ebury Hotel, Canterbuty Kent
Advantages: Freindly
Disadvantages: For the More Mature Traveller
...Ebury hotel, London Road, Canterbury
£70 B&B (not sure if this is corporate rate)
I stayed at this hotel for work, arrived on a Monday night and stayed 2 nights.
I phoned before I arrived, lucky I did mainly it was to double check where they were but I asked about meals etc, some hotels have room service. The Chef goes home at 9pm so whilst on the phone the lady asked me if I wanted anything. I said a chicken salad, as it was quite late. I checked in and about 5 minutes later my chicken salad was at the door, I was surprised at the prompt service.
The Hotel is set in very nice surroundings I didn?t realise until the next day, it is on the main road but you don?t know whilst in the hotel it?s self. The hotel is very close to the centre of Canterbury and from the car park you can see the Cathedral. I would say the centre is about...

Castle Museum in Kent
Advantages: Eclectic Museum set in pleasant grounds
Disadvantages: Not as good as nearby Hever Castle.
... Visitor Information
Chiddingstone Castle is 5 miles from Edenbridge in Kent, between the two more famous historic attractions of the area, Hever Castle and Penshurst Place.
Travelling by car, without a sat nav, we found it best to follow the signs to nearby Hever Castle on the major roads. As we got nearer, on the B2027, we followed the Chiddingstone signs.
If you have a sat nav, you will need the postcode TN8 7AD.
They are open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from Easter until the last Sunday of September. Information about additional open days can be found in the What?s On Section of their website, which includes Halloween and Christmas events.
Prices are £6 adults, £4 children aged 5-13, under 5s are free. There are also family and season tickets.

The Mackworth Hotel, Derbyshire
Advantages: Great location, warm and friendly
Disadvantages: May be out of budget, hotel rooms not suitable for disabled guests
...The Mackworth hotel is a converted and extended farmhouse situated on the edge of the medieval village of Mackworth, Derbyshire. It lies just 2 miles out of Derby City Centre with close links to the M1/M6/A38/A50.
We chose this as our wedding venue in the October of 2006, after visiting the Hotel for several meals and evenings out previously.
As well as being fully licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, the hotel boasts extensive conferencing facilities, restaurant and bar areas.
The restaurant boasts a superb carvery with a varied choice of meat and veg for a reasonable price as well as many alternatives on the menu. The hotel is surrounded by picturesque Derbyshire Countryside visible from the restaurant open plan extension.
The hotel itself has welcoming decor styled on rustic farmhouse with the main entrance to the side...

Some fields in Kent
Advantages: Commonplace
Disadvantages: Rare
...sounds trivial, even modest to a fault: that it is "unimproved". By this is meant that it has never been ploughed up, artificially fertilised or sprayed with chemicals. As a result, wild flowers that are elsewhere being lost can flourish. Remarkably few such pristine pastures remain in over-developed, intensively-farmed southern England.
In fact, closer scrutiny of the information provided reveals that even this modest-seeming claim is an overstatement. Only about a third of the meadow's 5.6 hectares (14 acres) are verifiably and entirely unimproved. The remaining two-thirds, more recently acquired, had been subjected to some "improvement" in the past, but are now being gradually restored to their original condition by benign neglect and natural seeding from the unimproved area.
This is the area beyond...

21st Amsterdam Hotel
Advantages: Mediocre location, cheap
Disadvantages: Could be cleaner, no towel!
...I went on holiday recently with a bunch of lads to celebrate our 21st Birthday....what we did in Amsterdam though for that is a different story xD
However on browsing the internet we originally settled on a hotel which was said to be literally 1 minute walk away from the city centre. However due to some stairs being described as the 'Stairs of Death'
We decided to upgrade to a 2* Hotel instead!
On arrival in Amsterdam, we found a booth at the train station where you typed in the address of your hotel, and it located it for you and printed it along with tram lines and numbers to get,
So we printed and thought with our luggage, oh that doesn't look far, we'll walk there. And truth be told, it was only what 20 minutes walk away from the centre. Maybe a bit more depending on your walking pace. But with the Luggage it took...

England's Most Magical Hotel
Advantages: BRILLIANT theming, lots of fun
Disadvantages: None!
...I stayed in the Splash Landings Hotel in Alton Towers for my birthday last year, and I absolutely loved every minute of it.
Though I was initially sad that I could not afford the high prices of the original Alton Towers hotel, I am now glad that I could not - Splash Landings is much, much better - and a much greater value too!
I went with four other friends, and we all had a superb time. The hotel is brilliantly themed. There are so many little details that the staff have added, it truly is a magical experience. From the moment you look at it from the outside to the moment you actually step in, whoever designed the hotel did a wonderful job. It was exactly what I wanted in a hotel. Checking in was easy enough - the staff were also friendly, and gave us all the information we needed, as well as chocolate coins that we could...

Quentin England Amsterdam
Advantages: Cheap Good Location
Disadvantages: Noisy Small Rooms Lack of Cleanliness
...Depends on what type of group of yous that are coming if your a couple or parents with children or elderly people i would stay away from hotel if your youngsters there to booze and party then this could be your place owing to its excellent location. The staff were very pleasant and helpful even when i turned up 2 hours before i was supposed to check in but the room i had was very small and the rooms were dusty. Another word of warning was the amount of noise outside it sounded like a building site from 7am onwards each day monday to friday and you could hear peoples discussions in the adjacent rooms(thin walls) For a small amount more you could get a far better hotel....

A - Z of Kent
Advantages: Totally comprehensive guide to Kent
Disadvantages: Although navigation is easy, the volume of information is enormous and to fully explore the whole site could take days
...www.kent.gov.uk is the official Kent County Council website. Not the sort of site you’d pick to browse if you’re looking for thrill a minute fun and excitement, but if you have an interest in Kent for any reason, be it from the point of view as a current or perspective resident, business person, or visitor, it is well worth a look.....
“Welcome to Kent, the Gateway between the UK and Europe, and to Kent County Council's website. This is a new site and content will be regularly added and updated. We hope it gives you lots of information about Kent, Kent County Council and its services.”
The home page is visually plain and simple, displaying the short greeting message (above), in basic black arial font on a crisp white background. The main category headings of the site are displayed, in bold red font...

Celebrating England
Advantages: looks cute
Disadvantages: retired
...Everybody my age had TY beanies, they were adorable! My close circle of friends and I were huge collectors and between us we have most, if not all, of them going! One of these is England the Bear.
England:
The name is pretty self explanatory. This bear represents the country England. Whether it is bought as a souvineer by a tourist in England, or by somebody whose home country is England and they are proud of that, this bear is there to represent it.
Appearance:
To look at, England from a distance seems plain, almost like a basic white bear. Indeed, his fur is white, which goes hand in hand with the whiteness of the England flag. Around his neck there is a little red, white and blue bow - the colours of the Union Jack. This alone is cute, and then on his chest you will notice a little England flag has been stitched on. This adds to...
