The best hotel we have ever stayed in !!

Advantages: luxurious surroundings, wonderful food and drink
Disadvantages: not many british children for my daughter to make friends with

...This is an amazing hotel ! My boyriend, 6 yr old daughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks in September and we were spoilt rotten. This was by far the best holiday we have ever been on. The lobby is absolutely breathtaking, with an enourmous chandelier forming the centerpiece. We spent many evenings sat here sipping champagne(yummy!), Our room was a standard, but we were very impressed by the size- plenty of room for all 3 of us, including a proper bed for my daughter. Our minibar was restocked daily with water, beer, soft drinks peanuts and chocolate and we also had fresh fruit most days.Our balcony was an ample size and the air conditionong worked a treat!! The main pool was huge-I think the hotel was full, but it often felt we were the only ones swimming ! There is one main pool, a relax pool, a childrens pool with slides and a pool...

The Invergarry Hotel near Loch Ness

Advantages: Lovely location, good food
Disadvantages: Restuarant quite expensive and very busy

...The Invergarry Hotel lies beside the A87 which is often referred to as "The road to the Isles". It lies within Glen Garry and the River Garry runs alongside the A87 on the opposite side of the road. All of the rooms at the front of the hotel have wonderful views overlooking the river, although it could be argued that the rooms at the back are quieter. Whilst this argument is doubtless true all of the windows are double glazed and therefore I would personally request a room at the front. I haven't actually stayed here so I cannot comment on the accommodation side although from the outside the residential areas look very nice and I have peered through the windows into the residents bar on numerous occasions. I have however visited the public bar here many times and I have also eaten in the restaurant. The public bar is very cosy...

Disadvantages: we didn't find any

...Türk = 'ü' : pout your lips as if you want to say 'u', but then say 'ee' tatil = 'a' like in 'wonder', 'i' like in 'give' Congrats, you've just said 'Turkish holidays' in Turkish! The airport for the south coast of Turkey is Antalya, the Hotel Barut Arum is in Side, a small town 60 km to the east (province of Antalya). As the transfer was not included in our arrangement, we had to take a taxi, at the taxi station there's a long list with destinations in the vicinity with fixed prices in Euro, our fare was 65 Euro. The Euro is the second currency in Turkey, so you have to change your money into Turkish Lira as well as Euro, you can do that in the airport while you're waiting for your luggage. ...We have just returned from a fabulous two weeks' holiday at the Delphin Palace Hotel and I would say to anyone thinking of going, do not hesitate, you are in for a treat. We were a party of 6, ages ranging from 55 to 11 months and there was something for us all. Everything about this hotel, (from the foyer, the rooms, the pools, and the gardens) was well run and immaculately looked after. The hotel was fully booked, but the attention to detain never failed. The staff were very friendly and polite and made a huge fuss of our small grand-daughters. This is a hotel made in heaven for children. They have their own shallow pool with 'Octopus' slides, a well run children's club, the Luna Park funfair (bumping cars, big wheel, pirate ship, train and swings) and a nightly mini-disco in the Amphitheatre. After looking through the brochures we settled on a hotel at Lara Beach, Antalya. This hotel was called the Titanic De-Luxe Beach and Resort Hotel and is all inclusive. After checking out the resort on Google Earth, I duly set off to book the hotel at our local Thomson travel agent. The hotel does seem quite popular, as I normally only book our holidays 3 weeks before we want to go, however I couldn't do this so ended up booking about 7 weeks in advance. Blue Square Hotel- Apparently near, yet so far.

Advantages: Lovely bedrooms, large shower, bar staff friendly, luggage room to leave bags.
Disadvantages: Too far from city centre, transport costs to hotel very dear, area undesirable.

...My partner and I recently visited Amsterdam (in late May for 4 nights) and as I was so busy with work, left it up to him to book the hotel and take care of the details. We have been to Amsterdam before and the hotels we usually stay at had no vacancies, so he booked us into the Blue Square Hotel, and proudly showed me the documents he had printed off and the website. "Looks lovely, oh it says it's close to the town centre- within walking distance- can't wait!" was my reaction. Out of the airport we trundled a few weeks later with our cases and got into a waiting taxi. He drove us to the hotel. It took a LONG time. As he was unloading our cases with us he said "This is not a good area for you." I asked him what he meant by that. "Is not a good area and is too far to walk to town, you will have to use trams. Fabulous Five Star All Inclusive Luxury

Advantages: The largest swimming pool I have ever seen in my life

...I have just returned from a two week holiday to the 5* Hotel Lara Beach in Turkey. What a fabulous place. This is by far the best hotel I have stayed at in Turkey. ***The Resort*** The hotel is located in the resort of Lara Beach in Antalya. This is a relatively new resort which is noticeable by the lack of shops and facilities unless you go to the centre. The majority of hotels in the area are 5* but a large number of holiday apartments are in the process of being built. There does not appear to be many places to go out and eat but as the apartments are developed I am sure the facilities to go with them will arrive. There is a large shopping centre which has just been built but at the time of writing is not yet fully occupied. The Lara Beach Resort is only 20 minutes from Antalya airport/30 minutes from Antalya shopping...

ANTALYA TURKISH RESTAURANT OUR OASIS IN NOTTINGHAM

Advantages: A VERY FRIENDLY PLACE
Disadvantages: Not able to go there often enough.

It is located in Forman Street which is next to the Theatre Royal and The Concert Hall, also across the road is the Corner House which houses a Multi Screen Cinema. There are many eating places in the area, but if you are looking for something different to PIZZA.s BURGERS Etc then enter THE DOOR OF ANTALYA TURKISH RESTAURANT. As you enter there is a Small Bar, and I am sure there will be a smiling face to Greet you. There is a large dining area. We usually aim for the tables near the wall as it has Bench Seating against the wall which we find very comfortable. There is also an upstairs area which includes a working Fountain, this area seems to be used as an overflow or for large parties. The decor of the dining areas we find very pleasant...

A decent hotel near Termini

Advantages: Clean, close to transportation
Disadvantages: No breakfast included in our package

Eventually, the combination of time constrictions and budget, led to us buying a package deal from Expedia - plane tickets and hotel. Top Quality Palace

Advantages: Lots to do, clean, nice food
Disadvantages: Terrible flight

...Turkey has never been anywhere that I have fancied going on holiday, but in 2006, I took the advice of a travel agent friend and booked for and All Inclusive stay at The Topkapi Palace, departing on 2nd June. Our friend and many of her colleagues had stayed at the hotel and rated it alongside 5 star hotels in The Caribbean. It also had the added bonus of being a direct flight from Newcastle to Antalya. I won't go into detail about the flight as that is another review in itself! After the flight, which was just short of 5 hours, we were very impressed with Antalya airport on arrival as it was new, clean and operated very slickly. Don't forget your £10 note per person on arrival to purchase your visa. We boarded a minibus and were at our hotel within 15 minutes.
