Nice, mon paradis!

Advantages: Short cheap flight, sun, food, scenery, nice people, city AND beach
Disadvantages: Pricey, have to risk life and limb sliding down a minor scree slope into the sea!

...France and found them much warmer that the Parisians in general. They would appreciate our efforts to speak the language and would chat when you were in the shops. The hotel people were very helpful too, and the atmosphere was more like a seaside resort than a large city. We felt safe as 2 women walking round in the evening and noticed that everywhere was clean and tidy, with plenty of greenery and open space. I want to take my family to the area now, perhaps to somewhere with a sandy beach, but I would gladly go back to Nice as well. Nice, c'est paradis! Thanks for reading...and get yourselves there!!...

Hotel Perfectly Adequate

Advantages: Great location, clean and comfy rooms, Pool!
Disadvantages: Weird showers, no sea views

PRICE: The sign on the door of our room charged ?220 per night for a standard room; we paid ?135 by booking on hotelclub.com which was probably the cheapest of all websites that I checked out (expedia, lastminute, etc. etc.) It was one of the few hotels that had rooms left 5 days before we wanted to check in, so availability doesn?t seem to be a problem, although at the height of summer you might want to be more organised that I am! An Opinion On Nice Without Puns

Advantages: Lots to do Good climate Great Food
Disadvantages: Not the best beach in the world

...Nice the fifth largest city of France only became french in 1860 with a population of 350,000 it offers many attractions to its thousands of visitors each year. It makes an admirable hub from which to visit the many interesting towns and villages of the area. The shopping available is both varied and competitive and you are more likely to find a bargain here than in Cannes or St. Tropez. It also offers a fine selection of museums. If you are just seeking somewhere to lie on a beach Nice is not for you, while ok for topping up your tan or checking out the local beach fauna, there is no sand. The beach consists of large smooth pebbles and it is rather like walking on super heated cobbles. There is plenty of night life for the visitor, certainly for the younger ones amongst you. This tends to be rather late in getting started as...

Nice to see you Nice

Advantages: Fountains, Sea, Sun, Mountains and all for free
Disadvantages: Pebbles, French men who think they are it

...Nice or Nizza as the locals know it. You've probably seen photos etc. I stayed here for four months it must have been about five years ago as part of my studies for European Business Studies with the University of Hertfordshire. I lived in Nice for four months as a student, in Valence (next to Lyons) working for six months and then about 3 years ago I lived in Caen in Normandy for four months. Each of these locations are so different as you would expect from France, but Nice remains my favourite memory, probably due to the large amount of free time that I had being a student (12 hours a week study - lol!). I set off from London Victoria bus station via coach, to be my home for the next 24 hours (don't do it!). There were only 3 of us on the entire coach however, so I just spread myself over 4 seats and tried to sleep when applicable...

Nice, the French Riviera

Advantages: Beautiful, Gorgeous, sunny, nice weather, exotic cuisine
Disadvantages: can be pricy

...of hotels and B&Bs in nice to suit every budget. If you are planning to stay longer then renting a holiday apartment may not be a bad option either. Nice is very well connected to all major European cities by flights. There are also train connections from Paris, Venice, Luxemburg or Rome. And of course you can drive down there, if you like. Great little find in Paris- Hotel France Albion

Advantages: Fantastic location and large sized room!
Disadvantages: Breakfast disappointing

...Fresh off the plane from paris i thought I'd share my thoughts on this hotel in Paris where my best friend and I spent a long weekend. We chose the hotel for its location- close to shopping district and centre of Paris and we werent disappointed there. We were feeling confident about the hotel as we had had good communication with them before we left- we had changed dates and asked to leave our luggage in the hotel as we were arriving early. We were not disappointed when we arrived- the outside of the hotel was a freshly painted blue. of all the buildings in the street it was by far the best cared for giving a very good impression. inside, the staff could not have been more friendly and willing to help. we spoke in French to them but I did hear them speaking English with other guests. the desk is manned 24/7 which was a relief...

...I went to Nice on a business meeting. The meeting was held at Best Western Hotel. Airport transport - Nice airport is small but comfortable. Easily reached by all types of transport. I took a bus from airport to Hotel which cost around Eur4.00. Traveling back to airport I used the bus again, and their service is excellent and on time. Some information - the airport was built some years ago and its existing place was a small hill. The City - I will divide Nice in two parts, the old and the touristic city. I loved to walk around. It is a safe place. It is a must to walk along Anglais Promenade. I used to go out early morning to enjoy the early Mediterranean breeze. It is a walk having the sea on one side, and a lot of hotels on the other. Promenade des Angalis - the beached are nice and full of pebbles. I saw people cleaning...

Elysees Opera/America Opera Hotel - Paris, France.

Advantages: Location, Room Size
Disadvantages: Facilities offered were minimal.

...and Disneyland Paris. It is also in walking distance of Montmartre and Le Galleries Lafayette. I felt that our hotel was in a prime location making it easy for us to get around the city. Paris itself is a very noisy city; being the capital of France this should be expected. There is always a lot of noise around including during the evenings and at night time. The fact that our hotel was situated in such an area did not make it any better; this was clearly visible with our balcony doors open. However, the hotel offers soundproofed rooms, as standard to combat this noise, of which I will go into more detail later. Overall for the location I would give it a 9/10, we never struggled to find anything that we were looking for, apart from the hotel itself in the first instance. Everything is easily accessible, and with a Patisserie and small shop...

Very nice hotel

Advantages: Good food, Good rooms.
Disadvantages: expensive

...I have relatives who live in Kent and there are two marriott hotels located not too far away - the Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel and Marriott Cheshunt. I don't go to Belxleyheath as the hotel has turned me away before due to the fact they have overbooked. The Marriott Cheshunt hotel is located just outside of Cheshunt town centre, so you'll need a car if you want to get into the main town. The hotel is nicely done inside and the staff are pleasant. I have paid between £80 - £110 to stay here including breakfast. The rooms are nice size and I have always had a room over-looking the inner courtyard. As is standard at Marriott, the beds are very comfortable (in my opinion the Marriott bed is the most comfortable out of the main hotel chains). Review of Marriott Cheshunt Hotel, Broxbourne

A nice hotel in a good location.

Advantages: Nice comfortable hotel in a lovely location.
Disadvantages: Very expensive to eat inside the hotel, don't bother!

...the Piccadilly Line which runs straight to the hotel's nearest underground station, Gloucester Road. This was easily done even with my suitcase, although it's handy to have a man who can carry it up the stair's in some of the stations! The Marriott Kensington is just a 5 minute walk away from the Gloucester Road station, very handy and easy to get to. Gloucester Road is also in Zone 1 of the underground, meaning you don't have to pay more for extra zones when using the underground.
