MGM Grand Hotel - Las Vegas

Advantages: 4/5 star, great price, good gambling and atmosphere
Disadvantages: The Lion enclosure

...My husband and I have just gotten back from a trip to Las Vegas and chose the MGM hotel to stay at so this forms my review. The MGM is located right on the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) right by Tropicana Avenue so fairly near one end of the strip. It is located close to the New York New York hotel and there is actually a walkway which joins the two hotels to give you easy access to both. The hotel in its present form was opened at the end of 1993. Most of the hotels in Las Vegas have a certain them that they like to promote through each of their casinos such at NY NY, Paris, The Venetian etc. The MGM in my opinion is not as heavily themed as the other hotels but follows along the lines of old Hollywood/California movies stars etc with the feature of the MGM lion and movie star photos in the bedrooms.   A Superb Gamble in Vegas! The Paris Hotel!

Advantages: Something new to explore..you can be in Paris and Las Vegas at the same time!
Disadvantages: A bit pricy for some, you need more than two weeks to see everything!

Sahara Hotel and Casino of Las Vegas

Advantages: Located at the border line of the Strip and downtown
Disadvantages: N/A

...Sahara Hotel and Casino , located 2535 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 This Hotel is one of the oldest Hotels in town , must be at least 47 years old. Until abuot 5 years ago, it was pretty neglagted. The rooms and the service wasn't so great or in other words it was real bad. The walls had paint chips all over , it wasn't too clean either. 5 years ago new ownership took over, they invested few Million Dollars, to fix it and make it look real good. They added a NasCar Arcade with a Restairant, Roller coaster for the kids, night club who hosted some good entairteners. They fixed the show room and had some reaal great shows such as: Clint Carlini was of the best Elvis empesenator in the world. Debbie Ranoylds, Susanne Barr and more and more. MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas

Advantages: Everything you could want under one (massive) roof
Disadvantages: Located at the southern end of "The Strip" - so a bit of a walk to some attractions...

The MGM Grand, guarded by a 45-foot-tall bronze lion statue has 5,005 rooms and used to be the largest hotel in the world, a claim recently stolen by the Ambassador City Jomtien hotel in Thailand with 5,100 rooms. It's still the largest hotel in North America, although I think this will soon be stolen by George Clooney's Vegas hotel development... So, when we decided to use some air mile points for a quick trip to Las Vegas we decided to try and stay somewhere we had not stayed before. It was going to be a short trip, only 4 nights. Totally Vegas!

Advantages: Fantastic location, very reasonable

Fabulous exclusive hotel in Las Vegas!

Advantages: Tranquil and exclusive hotel
Disadvantages: Rooms overlooking the airport could be noisy

...This has got to be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. We went here in July 2005, which was a reward trip paid for by my company. The Four Seasons Las Vegas is situated on the top four floors (35th to 39th) of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and is at the south end of the strip, just 3 miles from the airport. However, the Four Seasons has it's own secluded entrance separate to that of the Mandalay Bay: the drive sweeps in past the main entrance, and then doubles back on itself, thus creating a one-exit roundabout. The centrepice of this is a small garden which is beautifully maintained, and has a small fountain and seating area. The entrance is set under a large porch area, reminiscent of a great Southern house, and is always well staffed by bell boys willing to help with luggage or open car doors for you. A Taste of Egypt- Las Vegas Style.

Advantages: Unique Shape, Good Casino
Disadvantages: Cleanliness an issue, Understaffed.

We had wanted to stay at the Luxor for our honeymoon and it was sadly booked out, so we stayed at the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood) and never made it up even to visit the Luxor, so when we found a deal on Lastminute.com, we were chuffed and booked it in January 2007. Review of Luxor Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas

A hotel beyond my expectations

Advantages: Location, price, food, huge rooms, car collection
Disadvantages: Hotel room to lobby takes 20 minutes

...This was my first trip to Las Vegas & I was already four hours late, as I was driven from the airport to the hotel at 1am in the morning I thought to myself 'what if the hotel staff are finished for the night', 'what if they have given my room to someone else'. As the taxi drew up & the automatic doors of the hotel opened, I couldn't believe my eyes. In the lobby of the hotel there were hundreds of slot machines & the noise from the people using them was unbearable, how would I get to sleep tonight with that noise? Although a large queue had formed at the numerous check in desks, the staff were ultra efficient & within minutes I was already checked in myself.
