Gateway to Wales Hotel
Advantages: Comfortable
Disadvantages: Non
...I recently spent a night at the Gateway to Wales hotel at Sealand. I choice the hotel because it was in a good location for exploring Wales and to visit the City of Chester.
The hotel is situated just off the A548 on the B5129 Qeensferry road.
The hotels car park is spacious but visitors are warned that they park their car there at their own risk. On entering the hotel you can not miss the reception, and the receptionist was pleasant and well organized. We were told our room number and given a card key for the room and an electric key to open the corridors leading to our room, the electric key only opens the doors leading to your room and not the other corridor doors that lead to other rooms.
The room we had was a double bedded room with TV, coffee and tea making equipment. There was plenty of storage room with a dressing table...

Advantages: 5 Star Service
Disadvantages: High Prices
...St David?s Hotel & Spa
Havannah Street

For anyone that is new to Cardiff this hotel is the best around and one that I recommend. St David?s Hotel & Spa is a high class 5 star hotel that is set on the delightful new waterfront of Cardiff Bay and is already classed as one of Cardiff's striking landmarks. St David's Hotel had one of the very highest levels of service; they provide excellent comfort in their suites and superb leisure facilities and cuisine.

Porthmadog, Wales
Advantages: Good day out, Clean beaches
Disadvantages: Not a lot to do at night
...Porthmadog, Wales
I first went there a few years ago after being recommended to go as the beach close by called Black Rock Sands would be brilliant to take the dogs on.
It's brilliant as Black Rock beach is a drive on beach and dogs are welcome all year round on certain parts of the beach.
It is kept clean and it's patrolled by lifeguards to looks after everyone and make sure they are safe. The waters clean for a UK beach and warm in the summer.
There is a small charge for getting on the beach at holiday seasons but it isn't very much and well worth it for a day on the beach.
It's also good late in the evening when everyone else has gone home to just have a drive across the beach.
In the town itself there is a variety of shops, cafés and various other things to look at including the steam railway that goes across some...

Welcome to Wales
Advantages: plenty to do in Summer
Disadvantages: less to do in Spring or Autumn
...excursions.
ATTRACTIONS
Our hotel (The Four Oaks) was right on the promenade and just a short walk from both the town centre and the North Wales Theatre (Theatr Gogledd Cymru).
About 10-15 minutes walk away from our hotel was the pier, which zigzags out from under the Great Orme and has cafes and amusement arcades. My father and I walked the length of it (quite some distance) but there are plenty of seats on route if required and met a fisherman at the far end, who we had quite a chat with. We noted that the pier attractions did not open till 10am or later - some were only just opening at 10.30.
The Great Orme Bronze Age Copper Mines are open from 1st Feb to Oct 31st 10am to 5pm. We did not get chance to do this attraction as the transport to get to the top of the Orme does not open until Easter and my parents are both physically...

Holidaying in North Wales
Advantages: Beautiful location, fantastic cottages with all amenities
Disadvantages: Just that you need some form of transport
...My mum and her partner have spent a couple of holidays now at a location near Bala in North Wales - the location in question, Pen Cefn, boasts four properties for rent, each of differing proportions. This year, mum decided to treat me (because I reached the big 40) and my sister and her family to a week long holiday in one of the properties. Having had a superb time, I thought it was time to pass the news on to others.

The nearest town, about five miles away, is Bala (which is just inside the Snowdonia National Park), which is on the A494 road. Pen Cefn, which is a smallhold, plus the cottages, is just above a small hamlet...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

One Day In Wales
Advantages: Exotic for us.
Disadvantages: None.
...(an educational holiday)
Some years ago my husband and I bought a Rover coach ticket for one week which allowed us to roam around Wales as much as we wanted to; together with the ticket we got a map with all the existing routes in Wales.
What we didn't get was a timetable and so we learned our first lesson the hard way, i.e. what discoordination means. If the word doesn't exist, it must be invented. It happened more than once that we wanted to go from A to C via B which was possible according to the map, but got stuck in B, because the one coach which went from B to C hadn't bothered to wait for us, but left an hour or so before our arrival.
The one town I have vivid memories of and will never forget is Cardigan on the river Teifi. Why did we chose it? We wanted to go to the coast, and when we saw the name on the map, we...

Hotel International
Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms
...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal.
PRICE:
Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Wales' City by the Sea
Advantages: beautiful beaches and greenery, good nightlife
Disadvantages: rain
...the nickname of "Swansea Jack" after the Swansea's sailors.
Thats that over!
Home to Wales' largest indoor market, vibrant nightlife and holding the title of 'Britain's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' you should put Swansea near the top of your places to visit.
A bit about Swansea
-----------------------------
The name Swansea is believed to come from "Sweyn's Ey" ("ey" being a Germanic word for "island") and to have originated in the period when the Vikings plundered the south Wales coast.
Swansea Castle was built by the Normans in 1099. It is said that it was partly demolished by Owen Glyndwr's [Chief and Prince of all Wales in the 1400's] supporters. It is still quite well maintained and contrasts brilliantly with the large, modern BT tower behind.
A small amount of the population of the city are Welsh speakers: 13...
