YMCA or VILLAGE HOTEL?

Advantages: A comfortable well equipped hotel in Warrington
Disadvantages: Mainly suited to the business traveller

...of its situation, this hotel is best suited to the business traveller. We would probably choose to eat in a local restaurant rather than the Village Pub, but then again we didn't try Salingers restaurant so perhaps we'd have fared better there. °º??º°"?¨¨?"°º??º°"?¨¨?"°º??º°"?¨¨¨?"°º??º°"?¨¨¨?"°º CONTACT DETAILS The Village Hotel & Leisure Club Centre Park Warrington Cheshire WA1 1QA Telephone: 01925 240000 Facsimile: 01925 445240 www.village-hotels.co.uk N.B. I assume that the hotel has had a major refurbishment since Ciao entered it on its data base as they only show it as having 89 rooms. Pauline 2006....

Warrington's Hottest Night Spot

Advantages: good music, good atmosphere
Disadvantages: a bit samey some nights

...Being a student in Warrington at the moment we have to make a most of the nightlife offered. To be honest most of the time I do prefer to pay extra and head out to Manchester or Liverpool for a more livelier night but when I can't afford the extra taxi trip I will settle for what Warrington has to offer. Now, on Bridge Street is where most of the clubs are in Warrington they all are within walking distance so that is what makes it a lot better here if you want to go somewhere different. A place that most people tend to go to is the club Panama Jacks (PJ's to the locals); it is a place people either love or hate but I don't mind going here because you get a good mix of music. So as you walk outside of PJ's you can usually see inside the club and on Friday and Saturday nights there is always a long queue outside here which does...

Gullivers World Theme Park (Warrington)

Advantages: Great day out for kids age 5 - 11, fun for adults too!
Disadvantages: Restaurant prices for meals are expensive

...The summer holidays are here, well 4 more weeks to go hoooray! anyway, i always find it hard come the holidays trying to figure out what i'm going to do with my 5 year old daughter to keep her occupied and out of trouble!! after a few days out already we decided to try Gullivers World in Warrington, which is roughly 25 minutes away from where we live, we set off early (about 9:15am, the park opens at 10:30 am) so thought we had plenty of time to get there, unfortunately we got lost ending up driving around Warrington town centre for 20 minutes trying to find any signs to point us in the right direction! luckily, by pure chance we drove up some main road and spotted a sign, so 10 minutes later we arrived at the park, spot on 10:30am, there was quite a few people there already, so the queue to get in wasn't too bad, the prices were...

Highly Recommended

Advantages: Great value & great service
Disadvantages: None

...I have just returned from a weekend Spa Break at the Park Royal as a birthday treat for my wife that was booked through Spabreaks.com and felt the need to say how wonderful the whole experience was. All the staff were friendly, helpful & courteous, ensuring all our needs were met during our short stay. The room itself contained all the facilities required (internet, trouser press, iron, TV) and was comfortable, clean and well maintained with a modern bathroom suite. The lesuire facilities were excellent and we spent much time in the jacuzzi, pool, sauna and heated loungers. Unfortunately the steam room and experience shower were out of use during our stay. The Spa itself was very tranquil. The hour long massage was blissful and unfortunately the time passed too quickly. My wife had a half hour massage and mini pedicure with she...

Gullivers World - Warrington

Advantages: Few queues for rides
Disadvantages: Queues for food, standard of toilets

...As it was coming up to my daughter's 3rd birthday I decided to take her to Gulliver's World in Warrington. I knew it would be better suited to her than the likes of Alton Towers etc as it caters for the very young. When we arrived we noticed it was £10.30 for Adults and also £10.30 for children, however children under 90cm were free. My daughter was a little over 90cm so we had to pay the £10.30. I was a little annoyed at this, however I realised that we had paid £9 for a wristband a month ago at Knowsley Safari Park for unlimited rides, so it wasn?t too bad. Plus the majority of the rides were catered for her age range. We had arrived at lunch time so decided to get something to eat. After waiting 20 mins to be served (only 1 couple in front of us!) we decided we?d try somewhere else later. Little did we know we?d later come to...

The Strand Palace Hotel

Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms

...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Booking.com helps hotels cheat customers.

Advantages: extensive database of hotels, many quite inexpensive
Disadvantages: if a hotel cheats you, they will apologize, but do nothing.

...Booking.com: Colluding with Corrupt Hotel Owners to Cheat Customers? I am sorry to have to write this review, but I have tried for months to get Booking.com to address my complaint. I have reserved rooms using this service in the past, and have been very pleased. This, however, came to an end this summer. I booked a room at the Travel Inn in Reykjavik, only to find, upon arrival, that my wife, son, and myself were escorted to a car with no explanation. Eventually the clerk told us that we would be driven to the "other" location. The Travel Inn has, it seems, bought space in the Pavi Guesthouse (over a mile away). I would have refused on principle, but I know the situation in Reykjavik is such that I might have had no options. We were driven there, the driver stopped along the way to encourage me to withdraw money from...

Hotel International

Advantages: Location, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Poor rooms

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Jedi knight returns to scene of early crimes

Advantages: Central location, decent prices
Disadvantages: Room might get cold in winter

...are various takeaway restaurants close by too, as well as shops and fast food outlets on the main shopping street, Bridge Street. An Asda in the Cockhedge Centre is a short walk away: http://www.cockhedge.co.uk/ It is also a 5 minute walk from Warrington Central train station, which is on the main line to Manchester and Liverpool. Walk a bit further past the station on Winwick Road and you will find a large Tesco and the Warrington Wolves rugby league stadium. It's 10 minutes to walk to Warrington Bank Quay train station, which is on the main line to London and Glasgow. The rest of the town centre is also close by. The Golden Square shopping centre and bus station are very close by to the hotel. The Golden Square has many shops and a couple of cafes and restaurants: http://www.goldensquareshopping.co.uk/ CONCLUSION...

sachas hotel

Advantages: good price,great location
Disadvantages: no window

...****Sachas hotel- Manchester**** I booked this hotel last minute as i had a job interview in Manchester and needed somewhere quite cheap ,that was also near the centre. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located in Tibb street which is a 2 minute walk from Piccadily Gardens or 10 minutes away from Chorlton street bus station. The Train station is a little bit further away say maybe a twenty minute walk but i don't think that this is that bad .You can also get a tram from Piccadily gardens and this goes to quite a few places. You could also get a taxi to the hotel but i am not sure what parking is like if you were to take your own car. **Reception/staff** Since i had never been to Manchester before i phoned and asked the staff for directions -they were very nice and helped me out. When i got there i think i got the same...
