..hands in the air,at Weston -Super -Mare!

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful day out.
Disadvantages: Too many people on the routes there in the Summer.

...I thought I'd write a Weston-Super-Mare review since my husband and I took our little ones there today for a spot of sandcastle building. As we only live 15 minutes away, down the M5, it's a place I have frequented throughout my life. My Grandparents live in Worle which is just off the motorway on the way in to Weston, and always took us to the seafront in the Summer, so this is the place I shall start. THE SEA FRONT Weston-Super-Mare is in North Somerset (previously Avon). Weston-sur-la-mer (on-the-sea) became Weston-Super-Mare for obvious reasons... our tangled evolution of language! I suppose it is sort of on-the-sea, but is really on the Severn Estuary. This means that there is a lot of mud washing up and down! We often, jokingly call it Weston-Super-Mud! At Weston, the beach is very very long and expansive...

Review of Travel Inn Weston Super Mare

Advantages: clean, next to a pub, ensuite, tea and hot chocolate, big room, heater
Disadvantages: noisy carpark, no tv remote, easy book didnt work on website

...We were looking for a hotel or guesthouse in weston-super-mare but for the same price as a small guesthouse with shared bathrooms you can go to the travel inn and have ensuite for just £42.95 per room... it doesnt matter what room you have , single, double, family - the price remains the same. Booking the inn did have its problems. I wanted to use the 'easy book' system they have on their website but it wasnt working properly (page cannot be displayed, some sort of server error). I am not keen on using the phone so I kept trying the easy book at regular intervals throughtout the day. After a day and a half I gave up and phoned them directly. The gentleman was very polite on the phone, the only problem was that you dont get a confirmation of booking like an email. This particular inn was by a leisure centre on the main road into...

Wonderful Weston

Advantages: Easy to get to and very cheap
Disadvantages: the sea (or lack of it!)

...Living in the Vale of Evesham has its real benefits?asparagus, the Cotswolds, the most beautiful scenery and fantastic motorway links. The only thing is, it just not by the sea. But Weston Supermare is and given our fantastic motorway links it's really easy to get to! Weston is a typical English seaside town that was first made popular in the 19th Century when its population soared from that of a tiny village of 100 to a thriving town of 20,000. The Victorians were great believers in bathing in salt water and they flocked from Bath and Bristol to Weston. The Birbeck Pier was built in 1867 during the seafront development and a 2-mile long prom and seawall was built along the seafront. In 1890 a second pier was added to cope with the increasing amount of visitors to the town. The Grad Pier, prom and seawall still remain today...

~ That'll Do Donkey ~

Advantages: Great Beach, Nice food, Plenty to do, Donkeys!!
Disadvantages: none

...~ That?ll Do Donkey ~ This Monday bank holiday a few friends and I decided to go on abit of a road trip and we eventually after getting bored of our first destination Cheddar came to Weston Super mare. As a downfall the weather turned out to be rubbish and we typically choose the Monday to go visit the town which was annoying as the rest of the weekend was pretty nice. Anyway not really planning on going there it was the next place that was near Cheddar that I could think of that had plenty to do and see. I have been to the sea side town many of times before as I used to go every year at some point when I was younger but I hadn?t been there for about three years prior this visit. I have always liked Weston Super Mare as I think it has a variety of attractions for all age groups and it can be a brilliant beach resort when...

Weston-Super-Mare

Advantages: flat
Disadvantages: cheap

...It is strange to think that I am going to give a good review of a place that is hated by so many people. I mean on first appearance it gives you nothing to like about it. The long beach (I mean long - you hardly ever see the sea) is mud rather than sand and the town is extremely overcrowded but contains no shops of value. However what I like about it is the large amount of amusement arcades. I love to gamble and the good thing about Weston is that you can gamble numerous amounts of 2p's without appearing to be spending much money, I can play for hours on only £10. This might not sound like fun for all but it is also a good place for old people as the streets are all flat and there are lots of hotels on the sea front (however not having stayed in any I couldn't tell you what they are like), so there is no need to push wheelchairs...

HUTTONS - Weston-super-Mare

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Read review

...I have been ordered by this company to remove my review of the experience I had when buying a used car from them. They have threatened further action should I not comply with their wishes. As it is obviously no longer acceptable to state either facts or opinions, I have done so. I have now changed the offending Fiat Punto for a Honda Civic.............OH JOY!!!! A fantastic drive and incredible service from Howards Honda in Weston-super-Mare. I really should have followed my first instincts, and bought a Honda in the first place. I would recommend anyone to use the Howards dealership. I am still of the opinion that the Punto I originally purchased was indeed a hunk of junk. I would personally never buy another Fiat in the future....

We're all going on a, summer holiday!

Advantages: A fun,cheesy day out,lots to do!
Disadvantages: the mud on the beach near the sea :(

...Ok, so it was more of a day trip than a holiday, but my outing to Weston-Super-Mare was still fantastic, and the best time out I?ve had in a long time! Weston-Super-Mare is located in North Somerset, South England, UK and with thousands of visitors a year flocking to the long sandy beach and the one-mile long grand pier, this is definitely known as a top day out. So after almost two years of being together and realising that my fiancé and me hadn?t yet been to the seaside together, I decided on my birthday we would go for a day trip somewhere nice. With my birthday being in August it was ideal for a beach location and Stephen recommended Weston-Super-Mare. Now he did warn me however before we went that it was known as Weston-super-mud but if I?m honest I really didn?t care, all I wanted was a beach! *** Directions *** We...

It was that biiiig! Honest!

Advantages: Educational, Good value, location
Disadvantages: None

...Don?t know what to do with the kids? Want to have a bit of fun? Do you want them to learn something? Then I have an answer! You can?t go far wrong with this! ** What is it? ** Seaquarium is an aquarium. It is owned by the same people who own and run The West Midlands Safari Park (I think there are some reviews on this site). There are two Seaquariums, one at Rhyl in North Wales, and the one I visited in Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset. It is in an ideal location, right on the beach. So you kind a get a sense of this is the right place for an aquarium to be. Weston beach is about 3 miles of sand, and when the tide goes out you can see sand for miles!! On a clear day you can see for miles (see the bit about the café!) ** How do I get there? ** When you get to the water you?ve gone too far!! It is in a purpose built...

Weston-super-Mud

Advantages: Lots of B&B's to stay at...
Disadvantages: Lack of things to do, Disgusting sea water, Hardly any nice beach...

...at night - there are always fights and I have witnessed or been involved in several despite trying my best to avoid them. There are a couple of very small nightclubs and they are horrible! There is almost no alternative scene at all and the town is taken over mostly by morons at night. The sea water in Weston is literally Brown. And what can i say about the 'beach'. It is mostly mud? Yes i think that describes it nicely... To sum Weston-super-Mare up: it is a small version of Blackpool without the funfair, the half-decent clubs or the reasonable sea water! The British sea side does have a stigma attached to it, and that is when we are talking about the best places. Weston is amongst the worst. I sincerely reccommend you not go there!...

Weston Park, Sheffield

Advantages: Easily Accessible
Disadvantages: Quite Small

...Weston Park is the closest Public Park to Sheffield's City Centre and is probably best known for being the location of the Weston Park Museum, the City's oldest Museum. The Museum closed in March 2003 for a major refurbishment and was due to re-open in the autumn of 2005. This renovation cost £17 million and was partly funded by National Lottery money. However major structural problems that were discovered during this refurbishment meant that the Museum only finally re-opened its doors to the Public on Saturday 14th October 2006. The Museum is completely free to enter and is a fantastic place to visit but the rest of the Park should also not be ignored. Weston Park covers a 5 acre site nestled between buildings that belong to the City's University and directly adjacent to the Children's Hospital. This location makes it one...
