Yewdale Hotel , Coniston : Food and drinks review.

Advantages: Could not be better positioned at the heart of Coniston.
Disadvantages: Service was slow but friendly.

...lovely mountain lake surrounded by hills and woodland. On the way back it started to rain just as we got into Coniston and so we ducked into the Yewdale Hotel and decided to have a couple of drinks and dinner while we waited out the rain. This review is therefore for the restaurant only. The hotel is a Victorian stone and slate building right at the centre of Coniston in a prominent position...

A comfortable hotel offering exceptional service and food

Advantages: Food, staff, nothing too much of a problem
Disadvantages: Pool and changing rooms a joke, not enough towels

...with fantastic food and friendly staff. I wouldn?t hesitate in recommending this hotel and will happily return. GLORIOUS GOURMET FOOD AT THE HOTEL ST GEORG

Advantages: Extremely friendly owners & staff. Stunning location. Glorious Gourmet Food & cater for vegans
Disadvantages: None

...and an assortment of teas including herbal. A free packed lunch is available on request - we pre-ordered for all week and saved a fortune on food! You need to order before 10pm for the next day otherwise. You get a fruit drink, sandwich and fruit and a biscuit. The evening meal was a banquet - all waiter service except the third course which was the salad buffet. The food was amazing and worth going back...
