...have found so far the 30 minute time saver wash takes around 45-50 minutes and I can honestly say I don't know why! I am pleased with the size of the drum, the porthole is smaller than some of the other Aqualtis machines, which is a shame but the drum itself is a very nice size. Although I have not yet tried any "large items" looking at it, I do believe that it would comfortably hold a double duvet. Not tested this of course, so wouldn't like to say for certain. After installation by Currys I had a slight technical problem with the water supply, after calling the Hotpoint Service line I was given very helpful and prompt information - they were also good enough to tell me NOT to call out their engineers for the problem as they felt it may not be the issue I thought and if that was the case they would have to charge me for the callout...

Hotpoint WDD960 excellent for families with children

Advantages: washes well, dries well, quiet (when properly installed)
Disadvantages: installation instructions could be clearer

...and, before purchasing, I read many reviews that commented on its very low noise levels. Installation I would strongly advise getting this installed professionally, if you can. If you can't, then make sure you absolutely do not miss out on taking out the transit bolts at the back. The installation instructions is not entirely clear about this, and does not include a picture to confirm that you're taking out the right thing. We ended up running it for a couple of months with the transit bolts in place. It made huge amounts of noise and was practically taking off whenever it spun. We spent hours sitting on the floor trying to adjust the feet to make it completely level. Eventually, I found a small bit on the Hotpoint website with a picture of the bolts and we pulled it out and discovered that they were there still. In fact, one...

Stay clear of Hotpoint

Advantages: Reasonably good until it broke after 4 months
Disadvantages: Unrelilable, awful customer services from Hotpoint

...he'd gone, I started a wash and behold, the same fault still there. I called Comet who said because Hotpoint had replaced a part it was their responsbibility, so I called Hotpoint who said it was down to Comet. I've just spent over an hour trying to get them to decide who's problem it is, being bouced backwards and forwards between the two companies. My extended warranty is worthless, and I now have a piece of scrap metal in my kitchen with nobody taking responsibility for it. I've asked for Hotpoint to call me back after they have spoken to Comet and worked out who will sort out this problem. If I don't hear anything, I'm going to take it back to the Comet store and leave it there if I have to. You would have thought it would be a straight-forward case of "fix or replace" after just over 4 months. Latest Update...

...I brought my Hotpoint Ultima washing machine about two years ago and it’s been very reliable as I have never had to call a service engineer out or anything like that. The only fault I have is that because my water has very low pressure where I live and because this machine is digital it won’t just wash your clothes it keeps stopping and bleeping as it’s letting you know it’s got not enough water in there to wash the clothes so I have to just keep cancelling the programme and starting it again and this can be so annoying as I have to do it more than 5 times and it can take up to 2 hours before it properly gets started but anyway this is really down to the fact of my water supply rather the washing machine it’s self. ...The Hotpoint FF187M was not our first choice for our replacement fridge freezer after our Beko freezer died. Unfortunately, as seems to be the way of things, the Daewoo model that I had my eyes on was available...nowhere. After hearing several non complimentary things about modern Hotpoint I was a bit unsure as to my choice however now the Fridge Freezer is in place I stand by my decision. The unit i chose was in Polar White however it is not a cheap finish and looks almost powder coated with an almost satin texture. The inset door display was also a very unexpected bonus noted in the sales literature but not clearly promoted. It is very space age and allows control of both compartments separately. Hotpoint a sore point

Advantages: If you fancy your repair guy, you will be seeing a lot of him.

...over the place, on three occasions it wouldnt let the water out, once it started banging becuase the screws that hold the drum in place had come lose, and as the years passed, despite all the repairs, it got louder and Louder and LOUDER. The final straw came when I heard huge 'crack' while it was in a spin cycle and the entire drum literally dropped inside the machine and it was spinning out of control making the worst noise you can imagine with sparks flying inside and smoke coming from underneath as the lose drum hit metal. Next thing I knew it had tripped the fuse on the kitchen ring. I was glad it did as I really didnt want to go near it to switch it off. Years ago, Hotpoint washing machines used to last 10+ years I can recall family members who had these machines that just went on forever, I dont know if they started being made...
