Great medium sized fridge freezer
Review of Hotpoint FF 187 E by
davydoug
Advantages: Big freezer compartment...and fridge section
Disadvantages: A bit bulky
...When we moved into our house we pretty much had nothing in the way of appliances to kit our new home except for the telly and hi-fi. As much as the idea of living off take away every day appealed to me, our budget wouldn't quite be able to stretch to that so we had you do some heavy duty shopping.
One of our major purchases for the kitchen was this Hotpoint FF187E fridge freezer. Well technically we bought the FF187EG - which is the exact same model only in graphite, rather than white (it is also available in satin aluminium, which is probably the colour you'd get if you were to mix white and graphite together).
When looking to buy our fridge freezer (FF) we noticed that a lot of the ones on the market seem to have larger fridge sections and smaller freezer ones. I don't know if this is because most people eat more fresh food...

Hotpoint Washes Hotpants.... And Much More
Review of Hotpoint WF840 by
MadCat
Advantages: Large drum, plenty of wash options, child lock, LCD display
Disadvantages: Annoying button configuration, quite long cycles, functions look confusing at first
...Okay, let's get the boring specs out of the way first, then we'll get to the nitty gritty of what it's like to use.
Well, it's a washing machine, it washes clothes. Most do (not my old one though, that died a month ago, or you wouldn't be reading this now). The Hotpoint WF840G is one of their Ultima range and comes in three colour schemes, has a new-fangled-style LCD display panel, can wash a load of up to 6kg, has many different programmes depending on what you're washing and how grubby it is and gives you a choice of spin speeds from no spin to 1400rpm and a choice of wash temeperatures from 25 degrees to 95 degrees.
The price I paid was £399.99 at the Co-Op, but a quick search around various websites reveals that prices vary from £365.36 online and £499.95 in stores such as Currys.
It is hailed as being Super Silent...

Hotpoint RLA31P Larder Fridge
Review of Hotpoint RLA31 by
Youngatheard60
Advantages: No defrosting
Disadvantages: None as yet
...This year everything seems to be breaking down, this time it was the turn of the fridge. Panic immediately set in, where were we going to get a fridge at very short notice, it was a warm Saturday night and it was full from the ritual Saturday morning shop. I am sure all electrical appliances sit there day after day just waiting for the worst possible moment to breakdown.
I grabbed my Littlewoods catalogue as I knew they had a "3-day delivery" if you were prepared to pay an extra charge of £20, plus the fact that their order department was open seven days a week. There were only three larder fridges to choose from. A Swan at £99.99, Hotpoint at £179.99 and Hinari at £134.99. I had hoped to buy another Electrolux as it had served us well over quite a few years. Never mind we were desparate.
All three larder fridges...

Stay clear of Hotpoint
Review of Hotpoint SDW60 by
brentj
Advantages: Reasonably good until it broke after 4 months
Disadvantages: Unrelilable, awful customer services from Hotpoint
...he'd gone, I started a wash and behold, the same fault still there.
I called Comet who said because Hotpoint had replaced a part it was their responsbibility, so I called Hotpoint who said it was down to Comet.
I've just spent over an hour trying to get them to decide who's problem it is, being bouced backwards and forwards between the two companies. My extended warranty is worthless, and I now have a piece of scrap metal in my kitchen with nobody taking responsibility for it.
I've asked for Hotpoint to call me back after they have spoken to Comet and worked out who will sort out this problem. If I don't hear anything, I'm going to take it back to the Comet store and leave it there if I have to.
You would have thought it would be a straight-forward case of "fix or replace" after just over 4 months.

Hotpoint Aquarius WMA 32 -hot machine.
Review of Hotpoint WMA30 by
SueLiz
Advantages: Good ,reliable machine .
Disadvantages: No major disadvantages.
...About 18 months ago our second hand washer finally gave up and died - poor thing ,probably exhausted.
We decided to get a Hotpoint from a local shop. Not my first choice ,I didn't really like Hotpoint.
- For the energy efficency concious among us it is rated A for efficiency and washing performance.
- Spin drying is rated B, but I wouldn't have known if I hadn't checked.
- Capacity 5.5kg cotton , the drum is big.
- Uses 58 litres water on a 60 degrees ,cotton wash.
- The machine is available in white ,siver, and linen (cream to you and me !)
The dials on the front are well set out and easy to use.
Five buttons in a row:-
1. Time saver - saves up to a third on the normal programme time.(not available with Quickwash , or any rise or spin only settings.)
2. Super rinse -does what it says really. Uses more water to make sure...

Hotpoint is a winner
Review of Hotpoint FDW70 by
grooveriw
Advantages: Sleek looks and ease of use
Disadvantages: None
...Choosing the Dishwasher
***************************
When we decided to buy a dishwater, we knew nothing at all about the difference in the bewildering choice of models.
We went to every single store in our area looking at the washers they had on display, which to be honest just made us more confused.
So we asked friends and family who had dishwashers already, which brands they had and what they thought of them.
One name that popped up more than the others was Hotpoint, so that was it, we would buy a Hotpoint, now which model?
This proved much easier because basically we just went by price and colour, so we ended up getting the FDW70.
Getting it up & Running
*************************
When we got it delivered, a plumber friend of mine came round and connected it up for us, which to be honest wasn't that difficult.
It just...

Warning - red light for Hotpoint
Review of Hotpoint Fridge Freezer RF64 by
earnie476
Advantages: Nice design, pleasing to look at, adequate space and layout
Disadvantages: BREAKDOWNS, reliability, durability
...Why I chose Hotpoint...
I bought a Hotpoint Fridge Freezer in 2000 purely for that fact that I liked the look of it. It was also made in Great Britain and was a very well known make that my parents trusted and had never had problems with.
Product
A 50/50 split fridge on top of freezer, fairly economical white fridge freezer with nice curves and sturdy appearance which blended in to my kitchen pleasingly.
Advantages
It worked quietly, It had ample storage space (draws and shelving), and looked to be of sound quality as nothing looked easily breakable.
Disadvantages
By 2002 it had needed repairs. I had the freezer door replaced 3 times as the seals on the hinge side had become trapped and bent in the door causing it to freeze up and allowing the freezer to work overtime. Warranty covers parts on all Hotpoints up to 6yrs old...

hotpoint was a hot pick
Review of Hotpoint VTD00 by
mado21
Advantages: cheap, easy to use, does its job
Disadvantages: none
...A few months ago my Hotpoint tumble dryer broke, I was gutted as this matched my washing machine,(us ladies like everything to match), and i cannot live without a tumble drier. Anyway I have always trusted Hotpoint appliances and have never had any problems with them apart from naturally wear and tear, especially with my kids I am forever washing and drying. I went along to my local comet store and straight away spotted the Hotpoint VTD00, it was nothing too fancy, cheap enough and was almost like the one I had before, so I was pleased to say the least.
MAKE AND MODEL
This tumble dryer is manufactured by Hotpoint and the model number is VTD00. It comes in 3 different colours, these are white, graphite and sandstone.
APPEARANCE
I chose the white tumble drier. On the front it has a cool/warm setting button, a list...

Straight to the Hotpoint
Review of Hotpoint AQGD169S by
666Nemesis666
Advantages: Loads of features, Many pre-installed cycles and programmes, Clear LCD display
Disadvantages: None that I have found
... Hotpoint's AQGD169S
The Workings:
Yet another belt buckle in the drum of washing machine production from Hotpoint the AQGD169S is as reliable as it is stylish. With an impressive 8kg (17.6 lbs) load size this machine can cope with just about any household material you throw in it - and on that note Hotpoint took the liberty of installing a duvet cycle as well as a bed and bath cycle. Not only this but the AQGD169S also operates with a super silent wash (perfect if you do all your washing during the night like me) due to its inbuilt acoustic soundproofing.
To make things even more enjoyable Hotpoint have spared no expense in producing an extremely ergonomic design, with 4 personalised memory buttons (making one button operation a reality).
To add to its already modern look the AQGD169S even has an LCD control panel...

Not Ultima and more of a sore point than Hotpoint.
Review of Hotpoint Ultima 1200 WD71 by
pumfster
Advantages: Saves space being a washer-dryer.
Disadvantages: Reliability. Reliability. Reliability
...Having had a new kitchen put in a few years ago, it was decided that there was not enough room for both a washing machine and a separate dryer. Therefore, reluctantly, a combined washer-dryer was bought. The make being the Ultima 1200 from Hotpoint.
Now Hotpoint have always had a reputation for high quality, however I am afraid that this product really does not live up to their high standards. The WD71 version, as well as the newer WD72 and WD73 are now available to buy from most of the good electrical shops. From Currys, this range is available for £335.27 from the website of £399.99 from the high street stores.
Now although I have said that this machine is not of the best quality, I will try and give a balanced view of the product, as it does have some decent features. The colour and design being the most obvious. Coming...
