Warning - red light for Hotpoint

...Why I chose Hotpoint... I bought a Hotpoint Fridge Freezer in 2000 purely for that fact that I liked the look of it. It was also made in Great Britain and was a very well known make that my parents trusted and had never had problems with. Product A 50/50 split fridge on top of freezer, fairly economical white fridge freezer with nice curves and sturdy appearance which blended in to my kitchen pleasingly. Advantages It worked quietly, It had ample storage space (draws and shelving), and looked to be of sound quality as nothing looked easily breakable. Disadvantages By 2002 it had needed repairs. I had the freezer door replaced 3 times as the seals on the hinge side had become trapped and bent in the door causing it to freeze up and allowing the freezer to work overtime. Warranty covers parts on all Hotpoints up to 6yrs old...

...Once we finally got this new model, which we had to wait over two months for, we found it really nice as it was nice and big, bigger than all the other fridge/freezer that we had seen. We thought that this machine was going to last us quite a few years. All you have to do is plug it in and just get on with your life. We have now had this fridge/freezer for 16 months. We had the engineer back within the first year 5 times as the thing stopped working, then the fridge started to thaw out and then started freezing, yes the fridge. We put a thermometer in there to check the fridge, and it went up to 10degrees C and down to -3 degrees C. We have now had the engineer out so many times now and we have lost count. Hotpoint WMD960 Polar White.

Advantages: Digital Display, Customisable, Memory, Delay Start
Disadvantages: Wash times longer than stated, smaller porthole.

...have found so far the 30 minute time saver wash takes around 45-50 minutes and I can honestly say I don't know why! I am pleased with the size of the drum, the porthole is smaller than some of the other Aqualtis machines, which is a shame but the drum itself is a very nice size. Although I have not yet tried any "large items" looking at it, I do believe that it would comfortably hold a double duvet. Not tested this of course, so wouldn't like to say for certain. After installation by Currys I had a slight technical problem with the water supply, after calling the Hotpoint Service line I was given very helpful and prompt information - they were also good enough to tell me NOT to call out their engineers for the problem as they felt it may not be the issue I thought and if that was the case they would have to charge me for the callout...

...I was looking for a certain type of fridge freezer. It had to be the correct height and width for a pre built storage area in my garage. This one fitted ( excuse the pun ) perfectly. I ordered this one from Co-Op electrical online on the 27th of December and it was deliverd on the 29th. I paid £230 for the product which included delivery, pick up of old product would be a further £25 if you required it. The F/F itself was white in colour, had 4 freezer drawers. Up above in the fridge this had 2 glass shelves with storage under one shelve and door storage as well. Clean and bright is how I would describe it, even though it was only going to be in my garage. The energy rating was A, this was important in choosing the F/F as well, every penny counts as they say. You are getting a good reliable name for a good price....

Hotpoint RFA52 Excellent product

Advantages: Does what it's supposed to!

...I have had this fridge freezer for seven months and haven't had any problems with it. The fridge capacity is enough for a family of four (2 teenagers!) and stays at a stable temperature. It is kept in a utility room which can get very cold, but I haven't noticed any changes in internal temp. Condensation does build up on the back but drains through the bottom hole. The freezer capacity is maybe a little less than I would have liked but means I have to use food more quickly - probably a good thing!! One major niggle are the ice cube trays on the front of the freezer drawers, they seem like good idea but are very small and you can't see how much water to put in. My son bashes the tube on the worktop to dislodge the cubes, which is REALLY annoying and probably not good for the top or ice cube holder. The motor is extremely quiet, in fact...

One of our major purchases for the kitchen was this Hotpoint FF187E fridge freezer. Well technically we bought the FF187EG - which is the exact same model only in graphite, rather than white (it is also available in satin aluminium, which is probably the colour you'd get if you were to mix white and graphite together). When looking to buy our fridge freezer (FF) we noticed that a lot of the ones on the market seem to have larger fridge sections and smaller freezer ones. I don't know if this is because most people eat more fresh food...

Hotpoint WDD960 excellent for families with children

Disadvantages: installation instructions could be clearer

...and, before purchasing, I read many reviews that commented on its very low noise levels. Installation I would strongly advise getting this installed professionally, if you can. If you can't, then make sure you absolutely do not miss out on taking out the transit bolts at the back. The installation instructions is not entirely clear about this, and does not include a picture to confirm that you're taking out the right thing. We ended up running it for a couple of months with the transit bolts in place. It made huge amounts of noise and was practically taking off whenever it spun. We spent hours sitting on the floor trying to adjust the feet to make it completely level. Eventually, I found a small bit on the Hotpoint website with a picture of the bolts and we pulled it out and discovered that they were there still. In fact, one...
