Gan hame sweet hame tae the Tenement Hoose
Advantages: a step back in time, beautifully preserved
Disadvantages: difficult for disanbled, limited opening times
...What do you think of when you think of Glasgow. The wet weather, the incomprehensibly strung accent, the obsession with football or the fact that it can be a rough industrial working class city? Part of this makes me think of the tenements that I studied in my Scottish history degree. Those blocks full of cramped conditions, bad sanitation and breeding grounds for TB that were so fondly beloved of the Glaswegians. Those slum tenements may have long been cleared away to be replaced by the equally bad high rise flats on far flung council estates but the better class of tenement still survive, elegantly lining the streets of Glasgow with their wonderful red sandstone facades. The tenement is such a symbol of Glasgow's past the national Trust for Scotland owns such a house in Garnethill very close to the Sauchiehall Street area...

Café Hula - Great Homecooked Food in the Heart of Glasgow
Advantages: Great food, good value, handy for Theatre Royal, relaxed atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: None really. But you might get undercharged!
...spotted the odd thespian here too (including John Savident (Coronation "Ashley, I say, Ashley" Street) who was starring in HMS Pinafore).
I am lead to believe that Café Hula is run by a husband and wife team, both of whom operate mainly back of house, although it has one of those fairly open dining/kitchen areas. It is a bustling and busy place but with a relaxing buzz; it has been busy on each occasion that we have eaten here (although that has been either Friday or Saturday early evening) and I would definitely recommend booking at the weekend to avoid disappointment.
We have only ever eaten here pre-theatre and each time it has been a very positive and enjoyable experience.
The staff are mainly young, and are enthusiastic, friendly and efficient. Some are from overseas, possibly students in Glasgow, and their...

...**** Argyll Hotel****
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff.
**Hotel/Room**
Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows .
**Other**

Perfect Apartment in Glasgow City Centre
Advantages: Perfect location
Disadvantages: None
...We stayed at this 4-star apartment hotel on 19th of December 2008 for 1 night before we head to Isle of Bute for our friend?s wedding. We flew into Glasgow International Airport from London City Airport with British Airways. It took about 1 hour and 35 minutes get reach Glasgow. As soon as we reached Glasgow Airport, we went straight to the car rental desk to pick up our car. Once you come out of the arrival hall you will see several car rental companies right in front of you. The distance to the hotel from the Airport is about 11miles and it should really take about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. But we took over an hour to reach our hotel, because the weather was really bad and there was an accident on the road. Just be careful, there are a lot of one-way systems in the city centre, so if you get a turning wrong then it?ll take you...

Abode hotel glasgow.
Advantages: Fantastic hotel. Trendy. Perfect place to stay when you visit glasgow.
Disadvantages: NOT A THING.
...Well i must say what a wonderful hotel.
Me and my girlfriend booked a night at Abode glasgow on new years eve and loved it so much we booked a second night in the morning just after we enjoyed the best breakfast we had for years. We both live in glasgow but wanted a nice hotel to go back to after enjoying the new year celebrations in george square. We just could not be botherd with the hasle getting home. It is bad enough getting a taxi on a normal saturday night, think what it would be like with ten thousand all trying to get a taxi at the one time.
I loved the way the hotel has been decorated. It is very modern but they have kept alot of the old features. Including a very old life in the centre of the hotel, with a very modern water feature flowing right down the lift framework. I think it is fantastic that they have kept all...

Glasgow's Alive
Advantages: Vibrant, City of Culture
Disadvantages: None
...the North of England, or indeed in Scotland, is just drive. Manchester to Glasgow takes about 3.5 hours, and it is a real easy drive, with pleasant countryside and hardly ever any congestion.
Shopping
-----------
Ok, let?s start with the shopping. I truly believe that Glasgow has got the widest range of shopping outside of London, and I think that is now official.
One of the newest areas is the Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre. This houses John Lewis as well as other High Street stores, such as Next (on three floors), Boots, Link, Lakeland, Anne Harvey, Thornton?s, Ottakers, Comet, you get the drift. It isn?t a huge shopping centre, but it is modern. It opened in about 1999. The car park runs to about eight levels multi-storey, and like most city parking, does incur charges. However, I never find it that offputting...

* The Bunny House *
Advantages: Funny , Plot
Disadvantages: May Send Out Wrong Message To Young Girls!
...Recently I have been swapping DVDs with my friend ; I've been borrowing her 'up-to-date' movies and she's been watching my 'rom-coms'. One of the DVDs which I borrowed from my friend was a film called ' The House Bunny'.
The House Bunny is an American romantic comedy film released in the United Kingdom on 10th October 2008. This film stars Anna Faris , (who's previous films include , Just Friends and My Super Ex Girlfriend). Running time of the movie is ninety seven minutes (seven minutes over one hour and a half).
Shelley (Faris) is a playboy playmate living a luxury life in the playboy mansion. Soon after her twenty seventh birthday , she is told that she is now too old to be a playboy bunny and so it 'thrown out' of the playboy house. Feeling upset and lonely , she tries hard to fit in with other girl groups , although soon...

A ROOM WITH A VIEW
Advantages: 7 foot bed, excellent leisure facilities, fantastic views, air conditioning that worked
Disadvantages: poor food, windows didn't open
...through high glass rotating doors into a large, high ceiling area home to the check-in desk, a small shop, bar, three lifts and restaurants.
CHECK-IN
This was surprisingly slow, and while it was clear that guests were being given the utmost attention, it was very frustrating for those waiting, like me, particularly when there was lots of other staff milling around apparently doing nothing.
I was required to complete my personal details on a check-in card, sign it, and swipe my credit card to allow me to charge things to my room. One thing that should be noted about the Glasgow Moat House, is that in common with the rest of their chain, they offer high speed wireless internet access. However, availability cannot be guaranteed in all rooms. I was quite adamant at reception that I had booked this hotel primarily for the internet access...

My strange night in Glasgow
Advantages: Reasonably priced, good location, breakfast ok
Disadvantages: The staff, lack of digital TV
...~~~Intro~~~
Back in August everything was going fantastically, I'd been on a great barge holiday with friends, work was bearable, things with hubby good, and my self-injury charity work going amazingly.
I became aware of a self-harm conference in Glasgow on 18th October, and thought that it would be a great networking opportunity. After booking a place. I spent some time while bored at work searching on the Internet for a reasonably priced hotel in Glasgow within walking distance of the train station and the conference venue. There was quite a selection, but it seemed that the Merchant Lodge hotel would suit me nicely in terms of location and cost (£50 B&B).
A couple of weeks prior to the event, disaster struck in our charity (perhaps a year down the line when everything is sorted I will review what can go wrong in small...
