...Hove park is situated in the heart of hove on Old Shoreham Road off the A270. Information about the park before I type my opinions.... Hove is home to the Goldstone which is the subject of many stories. Basically it is nothing but a huge piece of rock weighing 20 tonnes situated in the south west of the park but legend has it that the devil through it down Devils Dyke (South downs) whilst he was excavating it and another one was it was used by the Druids (who?!) for warship. Apparently you can see a face in the rock but I never have! I have never heard such a stupid story. Hove park also has its on miniture railway and you will find inscriptions on the steel plates naming who donated the piece of railway. You will find the operating times near the Cafe. The park has many sporting activities, including a basketball court, tennis...

Review of Hove Park (Brighton)

A Bit of Culture in the Market Place

Advantages: Great variety of entertainment on offer. Generally cheaper prices than larger venues
Disadvantages: The length of the trek to the loos! Not the most comfortable seating

...The Old Market Hove is a place which is difficult to label! It?s an historical building of some note, a theatre, a cultural centre, a venue for private hire catering for all sorts of events including weddings and civil partnerships, a recording studio, home to the celebrated Hanover Band and a base for Springboard, a competitive performing arts festival for young people. Lamb, Lobster and Linguine but Positively No Pizza

Advantages: Unusual well cooked recipes. Reasonable prices, Good service. Luxurious ambience.
Disadvantages: Questionable Accessiblity Options. Not family focussed if this counts a disadvantage

..."Dolce Vita in the Heart of Hove." This apparently is the " better known " title for "Leone Ristoranti Italiano and Oyster Bar". How and why it came by this alternative name is unclear but certainly dining there could be said to be one of life's sweeter experiences! As you enter, it's like stepping back to a more elegant age. It is not so grand that you feel uncomfortable but it has a stylish aura quite different from the usual Ristoranti you can find on any high street. But you would expect this in a building which started life as a luxury Victorian villa and which is now part of the three star Langford's Hotel, although under private management. Advantages: Best fans, friendly team, community spirit

...I'm a BIG football fan, someone who wants to go to every single game. Unfortunately because of funds and University, I'm only able to go to a few games a season. I live just north of Brighton in a town called Haywards Heath. This is near enough to call Brighton and Hove Albion my 'Local' team, as it is only about 10/15 miles away. I've been support Brighton since around 1997 when they were facing being relegated from the Football League to the Conference. I have vivid memories of watching Final Score on BBC and seeing the score 'Hereford 1-1 Brighton', which meant we had survived for another season. The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton

Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated

...hotel I was very impressed by the Royal Albion. Bars and Restaurants in the hotel: Jenny's Restaurant - serves a large selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a nice view facing the pier and the beach. Pavilion Bar - again looks over the beach and serves a selection of drinks at a reasonable price. Sun Terrace - for sunnier days in the summer, has chairs and sun beds to sit on and get a nice tan. shopping with a difference!

Advantages: many quirky shops and places to eat and drink
Disadvantages: quite expensive, parking is a problem

...I recently spent a day in Brighton after visiting relatives who live down that way. The 17th century lanes were a real experience. Located slightly back from the seafront, the lanes are the oldest area in Brighton and Hove and used to be a medieval fishing village. Today, the narrow lanes are made up of many quirky little shops, selling antiques, jewellery and designer labels. There are many great shops just waiting to be discovered and numerous places to eat and drink. I thought it made a nice change to the usual high street shops and large shopping malls, although I didn't buy anything because most of the items were rather expensive. As anybody who has been to Brighton before will know, parking is a real problem. We parked by the seafront on the road which leads to the marina. Family-fun, friendly and easy going

Advantages: Right by the sea
Disadvantages: Not in the heart of Brighton

...The Princes Marine Hotel is a 4 star hotel situated on the coastal road from Brighton to Hove. It is a newly built hotel (only a few years old) and I had the fortune to be invited to dine there in the in-house restaurant a few years ago. The food was delicious and plentiful, following traditional English recipes. The service was excellent and the bar next door that we ajourned to afterwards stocks one of the largest selections of spirits I have seen in Brighton. As for the rooms, although I didn't stay there, I heard from others in the bar that they were very clean and comfortable. I did however take a sneeky look into a few rooms and in addition I found them very cosy with TVs and en suite bathrooms. agreed....
