...When I began reading this book, I thought it was going to be a hard read - the initial few pages are like walking through treacle and I wondered whether to carry on with it or not to be honest. The main character, Christine Rose, witnesses not just one man try to take his own life, but two. I thought 'how depressing'! I didn't think that suicide, or attempted suicide, would make enjoyable...
