I ended up buying a Hewlett Packard Printer / Scanner / Copier which takes HP 21 and HP 22 Inkjet Print Cartridges. HP 22 PACKAGING AND CONTENTS The packaging itself makes it look as if you are getting a larger cartridge than the one you actually get. For those of you that are into minimal packaging, then I would say that there is too much packaging, in the form of cardboard, and depending on where you buy them from, these are then further packaged into a see through plastic holder. The cartridges that I have bought recently come from various parts of the world, but include Singapore. The ink cartridge itself is only 5 ml, and will print approximately 165 pages... Read review

Advantages: Fast, good quality, and easy to set up

...I was looking for a new top of the range scanner, to go along with my Hp P1000 photo smart printer, so I needed one at a good price, but which had great quality scanning, and I found it. Everyone knows that Hp can be a bit pricey, but for around £130, this has to be worth it. It has a max resolution of 2400 x 1200 dpi (dots per inch), and this is ideal for enlarging pics and still keeping the quality in the picture. It is quick and as you can save the pics as jpegs, and other file types, it does'nt use alot of space on your hard drive. When loading a pictuer, you also have many functions, ranging from resolution, colour quality, lighting, and inlaging or decreasing the picture size. ...The HP S20 Scanner is a good all-around scanner. The S20 can scan prints upto 5x7 inches, 35mm negatives (in strips), and 35mm slides (mounted or in strips). It provides upto 2400dpi scans of film strips which equates to over 6 mega-pixels. Prints are scanned at upto 300 dpi. The S20 also uses 36bit colour for outstanding reproduction. I was looking into digital cameras, but I found that I could always tell a digital from a standard print. Additionally, the cost of a 6 mega-pixel camera would be prohibitive (as well as the fact that no consumer digital camera on the market offers a 6 mega-pixel CCD). So, I opted for a film scanner. Advantages: Inexpensive

...My HP Scanjet 2400 experience began when I inserted the installation CD, this began to run and immediately stopped with a 'Macromedia Projector' error message. I presume 'Macromedia Projector' is software used to momentarily give a flashy display before the installation starts. Overkill that died!!! I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2 so my guess is that there was a conflict. So I explored the CD, found the Setup files and ran these to install the software. I think this worked, although I have no idea if I got the full software set. Next I tried to scan a series of A4 (paper size) documents as A4 documents using the HP Director control software. Could I do this? Not without a good deal of manual intervention because after each scan the scanner insisted on removing the margins and I had to manually drag them back into place. I... Read review
