...We have been looking for a good quality laptop at the right price, so when we saw the HP G60 for £379 we went for it. The laptop is has a good specification. It has 3GB of RAM which is more than enough to run Windows Vista, a 250 GB hard drive, and 2 GHz AMD Turion dual core processor which means it is more that quick and powerful enough to hand most things. The screen is 15.6 inches (a fraction larger than the standard 15.4 on most laptops) and has a glossy finish, there is little glare and ample brightness and contract in it. HP C4480 Printer - Great all-rounder

Advantages: High text and image print quality; prints, scans and copies; good value for money
Disadvantages: Not got wireless; software is a bit complicated

...I purchased this printer about 9 months ago, for starting my second year at university (my previous printer packed up). At the time, I got it for around £40, as it was on offer in Tesco; the price varies but you can definitely still pick it up for under £50, though it is worth keeping an eye out for special offers in stores. This printer/photocopier/scanner all-in-one unit is a fantastic bargain, offering so many features for the price. As a student, it is in regular use, printing out lecture slides, coursework and other documents. Word documents print quickly, even on the higher quality settings, and the text is always clear (except on the ultra-fast draft setting where the alignment of text goes a bit off). ...A well designed, high quality affordable laptop, the HP pavilion dv5 doesn't fail to please in looks, performance or price. In terms of look and design, flashy is a good word for it. It has a glossy black case which shines in the light, then you open it. The keyboard-surround is split horizontally: the bottom half is very light silver with a white check pattern, and the upper half perforated silver plastic. Around the edge of the laptop, there is a chrome-effect strip which sparkles and shimmers. Even the mouse pad has a finish that is so reflective you can see your face in it. This is the 'bling-bling' of the laptop world. It also feels pretty solid, I don't think you would be able to break it easily and I have faith in it's durability and robustness. A SAUCY HP OR A BIT OF A DIP?

Advantages: Fast, cheap, reasonable processing
Disadvantages: Heavy and issues on shutdown

Connectivity More important, in my opinion, these days than the base spec of computers (as most users will find that 95% of computers will have the necessary processing spec) are the connections that the computer offers. The hp offers 3 USB ports, an HDMI connection, VGA slot, Ethernet, phone line, headphone and microphone sockets. There?s also a 5 in 1 card reader and DVD drive (with lightscribe facility). The whole is WiFi enabled and there?s a built in webcam. Connection to our existing WiFi environment was easy and the computer is now happy talking to other members of the family. Memory The 250GB Hard drive is more than adequate for my needs and supports well the functionality that comes with the Windows Vista Premium Home Edition that is pre-loaded. 3072MB RAM copes...
