HP PSC 1215 All in one printer/scanner/photocopier

Advantages: Its 3 in 1 so you don't have loads of cables everywhere

...About 2 years ago I decided it was time to update my printer and after scanning around for some bargains I decided that the HP PSC 1215 would be the one for me. It was just what I needed a printer/scanner and copier all in one with a free 3.1 MP camera chucked in to seal the deal. Style and Design ------------------------ The printer is a silvery-grey in colour and looks a bit like a breezeblock. The scanner copier is situated at the top and the paperfeeder is located at the front. There is also a LED display on the top with a group of buttons. Advantages: FAST IN PRINTING AND OF GOOD QUALITY.
Disadvantages: LARGE AND HEAVY.

There is also an 8300gp model of this scanner which is a Graphic Arts scanner and has a monitor color-meter calibrator as a added feature ideal for graphic designers. Now about the HP ScanJet 8300, the scanner has an OR (Optical Resolution) of 4800x4800dpi and will scan high dynamic range in 48bit colour. This is fine for transparency and negative scanning. ...I bought myself this to scan various things (old photos, documents and some sheet music) and this does the job pretty well. It was a bit on the expensive side but I needed something that would give me good quality and I could trust that it would work well so I went for HP as they are well known for good quality products. HP C4480 Printer - Great all-rounder

Advantages: High text and image print quality; prints, scans and copies; good value for money
Disadvantages: Not got wireless; software is a bit complicated

...I purchased this printer about 9 months ago, for starting my second year at university (my previous printer packed up). At the time, I got it for around £40, as it was on offer in Tesco; the price varies but you can definitely still pick it up for under £50, though it is worth keeping an eye out for special offers in stores. This printer/photocopier/scanner all-in-one unit is a fantastic bargain, offering so many features for the price. As a student, it is in regular use, printing out lecture slides, coursework and other documents. Word documents print quickly, even on the higher quality settings, and the text is always clear (except on the ultra-fast draft setting where the alignment of text goes a bit off). ...well be useful for some people. Once the papers are in place, you move the lever back to 3. I don't know what you do with position 2 though! ADVANTAGES: You can use your existing scanner (provided you have a compatible one) and turn it into an automatic one, rather than have to replace a perfectly good machine in order to get better functionality. You no longer have to stand over the scanner for half an hour at a time! Using the TWAIN driver that HP supply with their scanners you can set this to scan all the pages at once and use it with Omnipage, Readiris or something similar to turn scanned pages into usable Word documents automatically.
