HP D1470 Inkjet Printer.

Advantages: Very cheap, durable, and excellent for the amateur computer user.
Disadvantages: Tray a little too small, and a few issues with packing the tray with paper.

...I bought the D1470 on special offer in Argos several months ago for £19.99, the current price on promotion being £18.74 (as of the 9th February 2008), although my local store is having difficulty getting the item into stock again (the predecessor, D1460 is available on Amazon just shy of £24). Again, home delivery options are apparently limited with the item currently out of stock in their distribution centre, so be prepared to be disappointed. Ebay auctions are available, but you will be looking at between £25 - £29.99. Typical ink cartridge prices (genuine HP) are currently £12.89 in Argos for black, and £16.99 for colour (this printer taking the standard 2 cartridges, not the mixers in other printers). Review of HP Deskjet D1470 Inkjet

Top of the range inkjet - amazing printer

Advantages: Quick, amazing text quality, nice photo quality, computer doesn't have to be on to opporate, auto-alignment, the list goes on
Disadvantages: Bitch to install, no tools in windows toolbox, more suited to business environment

...The HP 2250 Business Inkjet is the latest innovation from HP. For those who don't already know, Hewlett Packard is the Coca-Cola of the printing world. If you've already read my reviews on the HP Laserjet 5L and the HP2000C, not only will you know my life story but you'll realise I wouldn't trust anyone else to provide my printing. Anyway, my old HP2000C broke down, was temporarily replaced by the devil himself (Laserjet 5L) and now I have finally been blessed with this miricle. The HP 2200 range is aimed at business users, but power freaks like myself will not be disappointed. The machine costs nearly £470, but it is the bees knees, and unless you can afford £3000 for a colour laser printer, or £800 for the HP2500, this is what you want. The price is steep, and I don't recommend it for those that need 'NICE' and 'SPEEDY' printing...

Review of HP Business Inkjet 2250

HP Inkjet 1200d

Advantages: Very fast cheap to run printer
Disadvantages: quite large for home use

...I bought an HP 1200d Printer in April of this year. I chose this printer because the reviews I had read were excellent and I wanted a printer with seperate ink cartridges that were quock and were in my privce range. This printer met all 3 conditions. The print speed of text is very very quick, colour printing is quick but photos are fairly slow however the quaality is excellent. The printer has a built in duplex facility. The 1200d is a little bigger than most ink jets, at 8.3in by 19.9in by 18.3in (HWD). The ink cartridges are separate from the print heads, so you have to install four of each also there are 4 seperate print heads to deal with. HP says each cartridge can manage 1,750 pages. The beauty of seperate cartridges is that if the Cyan runs out you just change the cyan you do not loose the remainder of teh other...

HP1100 Business Ink Jet

Advantages: Super Quality 4800dpi printing at home
Disadvantages: Expensive Ink, Quite Big and bulky

...Having previously had a HP 1100 Inkjet at work, i loved it so much i bought one for home, the price of these printeres are a little high, but in my opinion its quite worth the extra money. The set up and installation of the printer is very easy and so to is replacing the inks and heads should you need too. I have owned a HP1100 for over 12 months now, Printing virtually every day and approx 20 sheets a day. I am only on my 2nd second of inks, you do get ink to start with when purchasing the machine but somewhat 30% of a full cartridge. If you do buy HP inks which I would recommend, these can be around £20 per cartridge... be warned though, there are 4 cartridges... If you run a business from home or you need a better quality printer for what ever reason then I highly recommend the HP1100. Ive never had a problem with it...

INKJET PRINTERS

Advantages: can pick one up for £34
Disadvantages: price of carts

...ink jet printers seem to be the common solution to every home personal computers hard copy situation but buying a cheap printer can work out costlier in the long run. The problem is the cartrages. Even a cheap inkjet printer can be brought for about £40 squid and have quite a decent quality of print but cartrages range from £15 squid to up to £40 and if the whole family are using it on regualar basis they mightent last very long. There are also special paper to buy like glossy for photo's and options to put the printer into a different mode to specialize for photos so these can take up more ink then in draft mode, so its important to look at the whole perspective on what the printer is to be used for and cartridge price before getting one in....

A problematic printer

...I’ve just read another opinion on this printer by someone and he seems to have had the same types of problems that I’ve had, except his seemed a bit worse! Before I go on, I’ll tell you a little bit about the printer for those who want to know! Now this printer is meant to be robust and work to your needs. It is actually supposed to be a business printer and not a home printer, so it’s made to work, not to sit around for weeks waiting for one of the kid’s to finally do their homework. They do work it at work aswell, it’s shared via 2 PC’s (more about that later) and they are both secretaries PC’s so it has to print a fair few letters each day! This printer is rather large, and whilst it emits 59dB of noise, which isn?t that bad, if its not sat on a very very stable surface it can wobble around a lot and make lots of noise. So make sure you stand it on a stable surface for best results. Cartridges This business inkjet machine is for offices that need a network printer, and one that has high quality throughput with low cost, it will endure up to 10,000 sheets per month. This is a colour machine and has 4 individual toner cartridges (unlike the tri-colour packs you can get for other HP deskjets). It has black, yellow, cyan and magenta cartridges. Good quality A3 Inkjet Printer

Advantages: Fast A4 & A3 printing, good quality from HP

HP Officejet 6310 Multifunction Inkjet printer.

Advantages: Good build quality, quick, networkable, quiet, excellent results, fax
Disadvantages: Software can be obtuse

...the best results were given by saving the scanned file as an HTML file. Scans can be sent to any computer on the network. Printing is quick, but I'm not sure that it matches the 30ppm quoted. The printer cartridges are not overly expensive compared to other HP consumables. It will print on a wide range of papers and cards, up to A4 size. The fax is as good as it needs to be, and can be selected to answer different ring patterns. I have mine set on my BT "call-sgn" number, which operates on single rings. The fax machine will only answer the single rings, and I don't! It can store up to 120 pages. Copies can be made from 25% to 400% of the original size, and up to 100 copies at a time. There are four slots in the front of the device for memory cards, so that you can print photos without using a computer. My only gripe is that my Smart...
