This PC is slightly lower performance spec that the one previously reviewed but also has some software differences that you need to be aware of. If you are not aware the DC7700 by HP Compaq is not 1 PC. It is a range of models under the 1 badge. And they don't come much fuller than the DC7700 by HP Compaq. As previously mentioned we are switching to becoming a HP Hardware user fast and their desktops have been a pleasant suprise during hardware replacement. Let have a look at the product. The Case has a shiny silver front giving it a cutting edge look while is Black case with removable side panels make maintenance, upgrades and repairs easy with full access to the internals of the machine. ...This is one of the superb computers added by HP. One of the fasted computers installed with windows vista because it has 2GB RAM. Double layered DVD rewriter is excellent. The Chassis is well built. It is the right choice for business purpose. This is also good choice for home use also. HP has one problem regarding Drivers i.e. they do not ship driver CD with product, this is the same problem which this product suffers. I would have felt happy if they shipped driver CD with this product. The chassis is good but it should have been more compact for space management. Processor it shipped with is one of the best, fastest, power efficient noise less and unique. I want to recommend this product for all short of people.... Read review

...One thing HP Compaq are good at is making great laptops for business people. This clearly shows in this laptop as it incorporates everything a business man would need in a laptop. This laptop clearly isn’t the best looking laptop iv ever seen, but its not ugly. Its all in one colour, black, which in this case doesn’t make it look so horrible due to its nice square shape structure. There are so many things wrong with this design, yet somehow I do really like it. The installed ram on this laptop is an average 1 gb. This is ok but could have been dramatically improved if it was a 2gb of ram. The ram can however be upgraded, and it can be upgraded to a maximum of 4 gb so if this is something you think you could do your self then you could easily buy cheap ram off eBay and install it yourself, however if you don’t know... Advantages: Very Upgradable, Cheaply Priced, Very Reliable.
Disadvantages: The nVidia 7500LE is by no means an efficent card, No front case fan.

...I have found the Compaq SR2125UK a very powerful machine, I bought it as a secondary machine from PCWorld back in May 2007. When I first bought it I didn't realise it's full potential of what it's very upgradable motherboard can have. It's processor which comes shipped with it is an Intel Pentium D 915 which is around one of the first Dual Core processors around and is now starting to age a little, but this machine will happily take any Intel Core 2 Duo's. It'll also take up to 4GB of PC5300 DDR2 RAM and any PCIe x16 graphic card (with a PSU upgrade). So onto my first experience with this Compaq, after it had been delivered in a massive 4x4x4 foot box I was at first a little dissapointed to find a Micro ATX tower (smaller size computer) as alot of these towers which I've had experiences with have had cooling problems. The real reason why it’s a great portable laptop is its battery life though, it can last 4 hours and that’s because of its 8 cell lithium battery. ...that the lid slams shut to secure closing. HP includes 3 USB ports, including an ExpressCard slot and a 5-in-1 card reader. A remote control is included to allow controlling of power, volume, DVD controls etc allowing you to watch a movie in bed and turn the machine off without getting up. This is a useful feature. Performance from the Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 with 1GB of RAM is satisfactory, but struggles with Vista\'s aero interface. The laptop is a compact size, comparible with all 15.4" models meaning its easily transportable. I paid £699.99 for this product and all in all I am pleased with the Notebook. On a 1.73Ghz CORE DUO PROCESSOR T2250, a 120GB hard drive running at 5400RPM, a 2048MB DDR2 SDRAM and a Nvidia Geforce 7400 with 128MB of dedicated memory and up to 256 W/turbo, this HP is not a mediocre. The 1.73 core duo technically placed in line with the newer 1.6 Core 2 Duo processors delivers enough performance for good multi-tasking: the newer 1.6 core 2 duo processors even falls behind in 2 or 3 multi-tasking options. ...Yet anoter fantastic product from HP Hp is a global company that has been running for over 6 decades, so you know that when you buy a hp, you know what you are getting for your money. I have owned many HPs and been happy with many hp's and this is no exeption. The price is fantastic and it has very good specifications to match. The 15" screen is a perfect comprimise bettween view-ability and portability, the procsessor clocks at a quick 1.9 while having the advantage of being dual core. dual core meas it can handle multiple tasks quicker, ultimately speeding up the processing time of your pc. it has an acceptable 1gb of ram which means multiple programs will run fluently. It also has windows xp proffesional, many people thnk windows proffesional is still the best buisness o.s as it is often more simple than its Vista counterparts... Read review
