Advantages: small and lightweight
Disadvantages: Overheats & power adapter melts into motherboard, HP has very poor customer service

...After 9 months of using my nx6110 laptop, the power cord melted into the system board and I lost the ability to charge the laptop. It was still under warranty, repair went fine through HP until exactly nine months after it was fixed, the EXACT same problem happened AGAIN. Warranty had expired and HP customer service told me "buy a new laptop because it is approximately the same as the cost to replace the system board again!!!!! So I only recommend purchasing this laptop if you want to have the same problem repaired every nine months. I contacted HP over 23 times yet received no assistance, apology or help. Additionally, the nx6110 batteries were recalled due to "overheating" yet they stated my battery was "fine" and again refused to stand behind their faulty product. My experience has been so bad that I will NEVER purchase any HP...

HP Compaq nx6110 - Good Value Slim Laptop

Advantages: Good list of features, slim, light and good value!
Disadvantages: No DVD-RW drive, no floppy, no volume keys, little software included.

First impressions is that it looks very expensive and with all the equipment it has it is very slim and light. The quality as with most HP laptops is very good, it has a very nice black finish to it, however this can look greasy after use from sweaty palms. The display - The display on the whole is very good. It can be seen very well from all angles. It is sharp and displays the colours well. The brightness can be changed from the keyboard. The in between setting is just right. ...Overall a pretty good laptop, i got one very cheap a couple of years ago, and it is still going strong, although the very small RAM makes it very slow at times, and often freezes. It can take a very long time to start up, and isn't great for playing games on due to the small processor. It is very durable, it is still all in one piece even after it has been dropped a few times, and when a key came off after my cat had an argument with it, it was very simple to re-attach. However, the buttons for left and right clicking have worn down a lot, and the keys which i use the most have worn quite a bit too. Overall a good laptop, but i would recommend upgrading the RAM...

...I bought this to take to university and i have now had it for a year. It is a great laptop and continues to serve me well. It has everything most users need: office tools, internet and plenty of space. The wireless internet function works perfectly, I have taken it out and about to various hotspots and had no problem. The battery life is exceptional compared with the laptops belonging to some owned by my friends. The screen Is big and bright and the whole thing is not very heavy at all, for a non-slimline product. I store lots of music and photos on it and have not come near to filling the memory yet. I highly reccommend this laptop....
