Great for Work, just Ok for gaming
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9105 - Sempron 2800+ 1.6 GHz - 15" TFT by
kooldavy
Advantages: Looks good, easily accessible USB ports, Media Card Reader
Disadvantages: Not good for newly built games, No DVD-RW, No Floppy Drive
...I bought the HP nx9105 back in March last year for University work, for this purpose it has worked spot on, no problems at all. However seen I went to University I have meet new people who like to play Online games and I'm afarid its not the best for newly build games like Quake 4, Counter Strike Source etc. It does play them but with a FPS rate of about 30-40. This is down to the graphics card which I will dicuss later.
My Model has the following specifcation, there is other nx9105 models with 64-bit Athlons but I got the AMD Sempron model cause it was the cheapest at the time.
AMD Sempron 2800+/ 1.6Ghz
512MB Memory (free module came with it from www.misco.co.uk)
40GB Hard drive
Geforce 4 420 GO 32MB
CD-RW/ DVD drive
3 USB ports, 1 parellel port, 1 serial port, built in Wireless Network card (b/g), built in network card (Rj...

HP NX9005 -Great Value, Highly Functional Notebook
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9005 - Athlon XP-M 2400+ 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
tomhughes
Advantages: Good spec, excellent value, nice looking.
Disadvantages: Some minor niggles, spec could be better.
...INTRODUCTION
Well I'm sitting here writing this review on my new hp Compaq nx9005 laptop which I'm well pleased with. I settled on this laptop after a fair bit of research into laptops at around the £800 mark. I was very impressed with this machine's specs and also the excellent reviews I'd read of it. I picked it up on the brilliant ebuyer.com for the bargain price of around £810.
SPECIFICATIONS
Processor: AMD Athlon XP-Mobile 2400+, a great processor which has the distinct advantage of being designed for laptops. Thus it is cooler and less power-hungry than its desktop counterparts. This helps the laptop reach an excellent running time on battery of around 4hrs with light use.
Memory: 256mb DDR Ram, which is more than adequate for most tasks. Unfortunately 64mb of this is shared as video memory so this is something...

Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715b - Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: performance
Disadvantages: portability
...inside the laptop.
Now the hard drive is above average too, as it has a fantastic 160 gb’s for you to store all that data onto. Now I know that ill never need more than 160 gb and iv never even really needed more than 100gb’s before, so I doubt that anyone will really need more storage space than this.
Its screen is average size too, it’s a 15.4 inch TFT screen which is about the average size. However most business laptops have smaller screens that this so that they are more portable because they would be smaller, and also they would be lighter and have more battery life. This laptop actually weighs 2.7 kg though, which isn’t really heavy, but is a lot heavier than most business laptops are. that’s why this laptops probably best to be used as a replacement desktop and is just as fast as one too...

laptop for portability
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nc8430 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: its very portable
Disadvantages: price and lack of ram and hard drive
...for a laptop, it means you wont really feel all that weigh on your shoulder if you do have to carry it around with you all day.
The real reason why it’s a great portable laptop is its battery life though, it can last 4 hours and that’s because of its 8 cell lithium battery. This has two more than most laptops have which means it can last a lot longer than most.
Because this laptop is made for business men, it comes with windows vista business, this means it also comes with some extra features and software you wouldn’t get with other editions of vista. You’ll get Intervideo WinDVD, HP Quick Launch Button Software, HP ProtectTools Security Manager, HP Client Manager Software (free download), HP Help and Support, HP Wireless Assistant, Synaptics Touchpad Driver, Norton Internet Security (60 days subscription), HP Backup...

HP Compaq NX6325
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6325 - Mobile Sempron 3500+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by

Advantages: Excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Doesn't come with installation discs, I've had issues with WLAN
...When I finally decided to swap my bulky, faulty PC for a sleek new laptop, I made it my mission to find a decent model that didn't cost the Earth. As all the high street entry-level laptops I looked at came with £399 price tags and generally left something to be desired, I decided to look online and came across this little beauty.
The HP Compaq NX6325 set me back £397 at shoplaptop.co.uk (plus delivery and a smart Belkin carrying case). Although prices seem to have fallen in the 4 months since I bought it, I think this is good value for money and technical stats-wise one of the best laptops you can buy for under £400.
Don't necessarily let the "Business" bit in the title put you off - this is a brilliant computer for personal use as well, and is a cut above what most retailers offer in a similar price range. I have been using...

HP Compaq Business Notebook Nx6125
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6125 - Mobile Sempron 3100+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
Soundsexciting
Advantages: small, light, inexpensive, fingerprint sensor
Disadvantages: 512mb RAM with 128 of that devoted to graphics card, no infrared
...Laptops are a pretty boring subject to write a review about.
We all know what they do, so what makes this one special.
Well first let me quickly run through the specs so that you know what we're dealing with here.
It weighs in at just under 3kg which is not bad at all for a laptop/notebook. Mind you HP call it a notebook which I would disagree with. There are Sony VIAO's out there that are real notebooks. This baby however is bigger than what I could consider to be a notebook so I'm going to refer to it as a laptop.
I do a fair amount of travel on business and this machine is just about right for long distance travel to far away countries. The last thing you want is to lug around a fat heavy laptop along with your luggage at airports.
It comes with a standard 15 TFT screen capable of supporting a max 1600x1200 resolution...

pieceofmind
Advantages: Price, good specs, (xp?)
Disadvantages: may have problems bettween xp and any vista systems
...Yet anoter fantastic product from HP
Hp is a global company that has been running for over 6 decades, so you know that when you buy a hp, you know what you are getting for your money.
I have owned many HPs and been happy with many hp's and this is no exeption. The price is fantastic and it has very good specifications to match.
The 15" screen is a perfect comprimise bettween view-ability and portability, the procsessor clocks at a quick 1.9 while having the advantage of being dual core. dual core meas it can handle multiple tasks quicker, ultimately speeding up the processing time of your pc. it has an acceptable 1gb of ram which means multiple programs will run fluently.
It also has windows xp proffesional, many people thnk windows proffesional is still the best buisness o.s as it is often more simple than its Vista...

Ideal way to get onto the Laptop ladder
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9005 - Athlon XP-M 2400+ 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
MikeLB
Advantages: Price, features, size
Disadvantages: mousepad sometimes fiddly
...machine you might as well look away now. This machine is a simple easy to use laptop at the lower end of the scale for home users, and light business users only.
The laptop runs WinXP, and that needs no real introduction, Its a typical windows platform that is now widely avaliable, Easy to use, fairly robust and familiar to any pc user of any age.
The laptop came with very easy to understand set up guides, a comprehensive user manual and appropriate recovery and WinXP CD's. Being honest i have never used any of them to this day, as the unit has been such a simpe 'wash and go' product to use. I have not had to contact dabs aftersales or HP with any problems, but i cant forsee any either.
The only problem i have experiences is that i find the finger mousepad sometimes a bit uncoperative and the pad buttons sometimes dont react as fast...

Advantages: good little system
Disadvantages: mouse can be a little dodgy
...i own this laptop, and have done since 2005. I have had no real problems with this machine, except for a glitch in the mouse. the mouse can occasionally lock up, and not move. to reset it, just press the little button above the pad, and then press it again.
HP deny this error exists, but i've sold 10-15 of these through my business and they all have the same fault. it's no biggie, but it could get annoying.
anyway, other than that, like I said, no real faults. the tft is unusually bright and clear, the speaker system is superb. even has a good attempt at base, which for a laptop is something to shout about. the keyboard is situated perfectly for touch-typing and can be used very rapidly (my typing speed on a desktop keyboard is about 80-85 wpm, and on this laptop it easily reaches 100wpm).
Power consumption...
