A Great Laptop
Review of HP Pavilion dv6095ea Entertainment - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 15.4" TFT by
6heads
Advantages: Screen, Processor, Ram
Disadvantages: Robbed HD Space
.... Finally above this is a metal great where the speakers are, not the most attractive however it is the way all Altec Lansing speakers are designed and the quality makes up for the looks.
~~~Power~~~
The basic specs of the DV6095:
- AMD Turion X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
- 2048MB Ram
- 100GB HD
- Lightscribe DVD Burner (Dual Layer)
- 128MB PCI-e NVIDA GeForce Go 7200
- 15.4\" WXGA Widescreen
- Windows Media Centre 2005
- WLAN
For a start the processing power for such a small machine is simply exceptional and easily allows me to convert a file to DVD while surfing the web or writing reviews. The processing power is provided by an AMD 1.81GHz dual core which should be more than enough for any laptop user. The hard drive on this computer is great at 100GB however this is one of the most annoying parts of the system as although...
Disadvantages: None
...of HP.
The Specs:
AMD Turion 64 X2 2.0 Ghz Dual-Core Processor
Nvidia 8400M GS Graphics
2 x 160GB HDDs (320GB)
2GB of DDR2 Ram
Memory Card Reader
Firewire, USB 2.0, S-Video, VGA
HDMI Out
Altec Lansing Speakers
17" Widescreen Brightview Display
Two Remote Controls (Push In and Large External)
DVB-T Television Tuner
Built in Web-Cam
As you can see, the specs are pretty impressive, For a laptop that costs around £700 you are getting what you pay for.
- AMD Turion 64X2
The Dual-Core processor in this laptop is second to none, everything runs very quickly, smoothly and the whole Vista OS is VERY responsive.
Compared to a Single Core Centrino (which I had peviously) this is more than a step-up, it's definately in a different league. Video encoding times have been sliced by more than half, Graphics...
Toshiba A210-11P portable computer, not laptop
Review of Toshiba Satellite A210-11P - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
mekon88
Advantages: Powerful, fast, quiet, good gaming
Disadvantages: Short battery 1 hour and a bit normally
...I bought this mainly for the graphics card, I was impressed with the desktop version so when my laptop died I thought "ill get a laptop with the same graphics as my desktop" bought in bennetts for a very reasonable price (100 pounds UNDER toshiba website RRP at the time)
The machine is smooth, and fast, and with service pack 1 installed the webcam is now reliable!!!
The integrated webcam is perfectly usable in most conditions however in low light the picture can look noisy (grainy).
The integrated speakers are high quality and do not buzz even at very high volumes.
The screen is very clear and clean, infact my friend who has a 17 inch HP which is only a few months older was looking at mine with envious eyes.
The media player buttons are responsive if a little limited.
The touchpad with its dual functionality is very good...
The Very Sexy HP Pavilion
Review of HP Pavilion Media Center dv6331eu Entertainment - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 15.4" TFT by
aliion
Advantages: Remote control, touch controls and an integrated 1.3 megapixels web cam
Disadvantages: The battery life and the Windows Vista operating system
...drive, I think this is ample hard drive space and I certainly would never run out. The HP Pavilion dv6331 runs on a AMD Turion64 processor that is a dual core processor. It of course has wireless technology for connecting to the internet on the move. It has 2GB of Ram, this a good size. The computer also has DVD±RW disc re-writer, always useful to have. The laptop takes about an hour and a half to charge and it has a battery life, depending on which power plan you use, of two and a half hours. It has three power plans for the laptop, one is a high performance but low battery life plan, another is low performance but with a greater battery life and the third is the HP recommended power plan, which is a bit of a go between.
I personally love this computer and for the price I think it is a fair deal. Within a price boundry this would...
Compaq Business Notebook 6715b
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715b - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
pieceofmind
Advantages: Price, good specs, (xp?)
Disadvantages: may have problems bettween xp and any vista systems
...Yet anoter fantastic product from HP
Hp is a global company that has been running for over 6 decades, so you know that when you buy a hp, you know what you are getting for your money.
I have owned many HPs and been happy with many hp's and this is no exeption. The price is fantastic and it has very good specifications to match.
The 15" screen is a perfect comprimise bettween view-ability and portability, the procsessor clocks at a quick 1.9 while having the advantage of being dual core. dual core meas it can handle multiple tasks quicker, ultimately speeding up the processing time of your pc. it has an acceptable 1gb of ram which means multiple programs will run fluently.
It also has windows xp proffesional, many people thnk windows proffesional is still the best buisness o.s as it is often more simple than its Vista...
HP Compaq Business Notebook Nx6125
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nx6125 - Mobile Sempron 3100+ 1.8 GHz - 15" TFT by
Soundsexciting
Advantages: small, light, inexpensive, fingerprint sensor
Disadvantages: 512mb RAM with 128 of that devoted to graphics card, no infrared
...Laptops are a pretty boring subject to write a review about.
We all know what they do, so what makes this one special.
Well first let me quickly run through the specs so that you know what we're dealing with here.
It weighs in at just under 3kg which is not bad at all for a laptop/notebook. Mind you HP call it a notebook which I would disagree with. There are Sony VIAO's out there that are real notebooks. This baby however is bigger than what I could consider to be a notebook so I'm going to refer to it as a laptop.
I do a fair amount of travel on business and this machine is just about right for long distance travel to far away countries. The last thing you want is to lug around a fat heavy laptop along with your luggage at airports.
It comes with a standard 15 TFT screen capable of supporting a max 1600x1200 resolution...
fab laptop
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715b - Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: performance
Disadvantages: portability
...This HP Compaq laptop combines power with a good design and other great features to give you this fantastic business laptop.
The laptop is Compaq’s Business Notebook 6715b, which you can probably guess from the name is designed and specifically made for business people, and so therefore comes with vindows vista business already in installed on it, this offers some extra features and programs compared to the other vistas and comes with Intervideo WinDVD, HP Quick Launch Button Software, HP ProtectTools Security Manager, HP Wireless Assistant, Synaptics Touchpad Driver, HP Backup and Recovery Manager, Roxio Easy Media Creator 9, HP OpenView Radia Management Agent, HP QuickLook.
The design is really good too. It is all in one colour, which is usually something that puts me off laptops, however this all black laptop has a cool...
Fast well built machine and good service from HP
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook 6715b - Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
jimwhaz
Advantages: Screen, good spec for price, build quality, HP service
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better
..., it is not light but is still easily carried about which I regularly do and don't have to worry much about damaging it.
This is not a pretty laptop, the design is plain and understated, exactly what you expect from a HP business laptop.
HP Service
I have had a few problems but they have been sorted very quickly.
The power supply was over heating so got replaced and the DVD drive was making a loud rattle.
Both times I submitted a service call on the HP site and the replacement part was at my door within 36hrs in N. Ireland with a prepaid label to return the faulty part.
Overall I would recommend this laptop and the HP service and support.
It is a good desktop replacement which can also be moved around very easily and reasonable battery life for the spec and price.
Look for the HP cashback offers, when I got mine...
great new acer laptop
Review of Acer TravelMate 7514WSMi - Turion 64 X2 TL-56 - 17" TFT by
punk_rocker
Advantages: very fast
Disadvantages: none, really!!
...This is my favourite design so far by the acer travelmate brand. It looks a bit cooler and thinner than the other travelmates, which have previously looked a little bulky and boring.
I think the main reason why it looks cooler is that its 2 different colours, black and silver, rather than being just black like the other ones.
This features AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-56 processor which runs the 2gb installed ram like a dream. Another great thing about this laptop is that the ram can be upgraded to 4gb, this isn't cheap however and could cost over £100 to upgrade it to 4gb of ram, however this would make the laptop run so much faster so if you do need a really fast laptop then this is possibly something you might think about when buying it.
This laptop also has a massive 160gb hard drive, which is double the previous...
