Compaq Presario CQ60-212EM: Compaq Presario CQ60
Advantages: Excellent Value for Money; Will suit most users' needs
Disadvantages: Battery Life is Poor ; Heavy
...The Compaq Presario CQ60 has proved to be very good value for money. I paid £380 in January '09 and it has worked perfectly since. The wireless has a good range and the screen quality is outstanding.
Everything else works how it should and the only real negative is a not-so-great battery life (approx 2 hrs on power saver).
All in all, good for games (mine has a separate graphics card - not sure if standard?), word processing, internet and general use.
One thing I particularly like is the larger screen size that results from having an integrated number pad on the keyboard. However the larger size does result in a heavy laptop.
As of yet I have had no technical issues what so ever with this laptop and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a laptop on a budget! Hope this was of some help!
Summary: Overall very good...

HP Compaq Presario M2000 Laptop
Advantages: Good battery life and features
Disadvantages: Had several problems, looks bulky and unstylish
...side houses the laptop's PC Card slot, the network and modem jacks, the VGA connection, and an expansion port for an optional notebook expansion base.
When you look at this laptop it seems quite bulky, but is actually much lighter than it looks. The Compaq Presario M2000 is big and square--1.8 inches tall, 13.2 inches wide, and 11 inches deep--but it's very portable at 6.4 pounds. The power adapter adds less than a pound more.
The laptop is comfortable to use. The keyboard has a firm feel, though its keys don't depress very far. The all-black lettering on the light-gray keys doesn't jump out, but it's readable. The keyboard's excellent layout places the <Delete> and <Ctrl> keys in opposite corners where our fingers could fly right to them. The touchpad is more rectangular than most, with stamped vertical and horizontal lines that show...

Compaq Presario V6000
Advantages: Incredibly fast and capable of managing demanding apllications.
Disadvantages: Surface smudgy - very hard to keep clean,
...A perfect blend of professional computing and easy to use hardware. The Presario V6000 utilises most of the hardware found in professional corporations as a basis for its personal or family orientated laptop computer. Built purposely for Windows Vista Operating System, the V6000 uses this feature to its full advantage working flawlessly with all the Vista Versions.
Employing only the fastest of processors, the CPU of the V6000 rivals that of most modern desktops. It uses Dual-Core processors either by AMD or Intel, both working over 1.7GHz and hard-drives ranging from 80-160GB. The V6000 is truly excellent for smoothly running the most demanding of applications.
Serving its multimedia needs the V6000 is complimented by a Matshita DVD+RAM, capable of playing all DVD and CD formats on a HD widescreen. Also, the V6000 has a high...

Compaq Presario V4000 - not a beauty contest winner
Advantages: Good value for money (decent specs at a strong price) and good after-sales support
Disadvantages: Bad-looking, unreliable at times
...I guess it is safe to say the design will never win any awards. It looks chunky and the color combination (all silver inside and matt black on the outside) doesn't look very appealing.
The buttons on the touch-pad feel rubbery and offer a good touch, but it attracts dirt, is nearly impossible to clean.
Ditto for the silver finish too...starts to rub off after a few months and ends looking ancient.
The specs are decent and well worth the price - but my personal experience with all hp/compaq products (I've had 3 hp/compaq laptops to date) is that they all have a problem with the motherboard.
Not sure if this is a generic problem with all hp/compaq products...or maybe I'm just plain unlucky.
Of course, their after-sales support is quite good, but it doesn't feel nice taking a barely-three-months-old laptop for repair.
Better to spend...

Compaq Presario 700: First Time Buyer?
Advantages: Decent for a first time user
Disadvantages: Potential crashes, over heating
...-^- Introduction -^-
As a member of Ciao I?ve been looking to do reviews on objects I?ve had for a while. To try and really give an in depth review over things. Although I know the Compaq Presario 700 may not be on sale anymore this could be a review for people wanting to get it second hand from someone or buying on website etc.
-^- Background Information -^-
I bought my laptop in September 2002. I?ve always wanted a laptop just for the actual feeling of owning one. However I went halfs on it with my parents as it was a necessary for me to have seeing as I was also starting university. In total the price was £900. Pricey it seemed but I wasn?t going over £1000. The actual one I wanted was sold out and I really didn?t want to leave without one so I took the Compaq Presario 700. In total I?ve had it for just over two years now...

Compaq Presario 6097EA
Advantages: After Sales Product Support
Disadvantages: Unwanted Pre-Installed Software
...Fast, reliable, good looks, stable ... to mention a few, but enough about me, I`m here to talk about the Compaq Presario 6097EA. Ah, who am I kidding, course I mean the PC.
I have had it for about 6 months now and is an upgrade from a Compaq Presario 2292 which I had for about 4 years. Yes, that`s the downside, 4 years ago I had a state-of-the-art machine and nowadays it just doesn`t cut the mustard. Here`s a list of what you are going to get for your money:
*Intel Pentium 4 2.2ghz processor
Should suffice for even the most intensive applications! This can be upgraded in the future as it is removable. It also comes with a good fan mounted directly on top of it to keep it nice and cool.
*256mb PC2100 DDR RAM
DDR ram is the new standard for RAM these days. As I am writing this from the top of my head and do not wish to inundate...

HP COMPAQ.
Advantages: PERFORMS WELL
Disadvantages: COSTLY.
...The hp Compaq stunned my mind when I heard its ability to deliver proven technology. I have some influence on deciding on which type of computer hardware or software to purchase in office.
The PC device comes with dual core technology type and the dual core simply means that the PC is capable of having more than one processor and it has advantages over those PCs that have only one processor because it is quite faster and can process numerous in formations at a given time.
I am considering very much on buying this since I have gotten the guarantee through the one I use for my office work. HP has proven their competence on making computer hard wares including printers that I regard one of the best in the market currently. Well getting this in my household would cost me quite some money because this is an office use. Since I am now...

My good old Compaq Presario 2200
Advantages: Durability
Disadvantages: None
...I am the proud owner of a Presario 2200.
I purchased it six years ago for a price of PDS600.00.
Mine is totally black in colour including the monitor and keyboard and equipped with a Cyrix 166 Processor, 16 MB RAM and 1.2 GB Hard Drive.
About a year ago I increased the RAM to 32 MB and the Hard Drive to 2 GB.
Many a time I thought of changing this machine for a new one with more specicifications and higher performance levels. However one of my friends is a computer technician and he advised me then that these older models are by far better than the ones out today. Not in specs but in durability.
They don't make them now like they used to make them.
All makers including Compaq are trying to cut corners with the stiff competition nowadays.
Parts are being made more and more in China, Malaysia and other third world countries...

Presario 2100
Advantages: Modest price if you shop carefully
Disadvantages: A little heavy
...'s available, even within the same model number, so you do need to ensure that you get exactly what you want in terms of processor type and speed, etc.
A useful website to look at is www.compaq.co.uk which will help you through the options that are available.
There's also a link available from your Presario laptop at http://h18027.www1.hp.com/athome/international/uk/mypresario/ which is also a useful site, but perhaps more so when you have bought a Presario....

excellent for the price, but wont win awards
Advantages: numeric keypad, great screen, HD output
Disadvantages: battery life
...hello folks,
i bought a refurbished compaq presario cq60 (to give it the full title) about 3 months ago, and i love it. it does everything i need it to do and a little bit more, bit reading between the lines will let the more astute readers realize i don't need it to do a hell of a lot.
my basic usage includes: word processing, general internet use, playing movies/music, downloading movies/music and perhaps a little bit of photo shopping images (to give me the baywatch physique).
DISPLAY
the laptop comes with a 15.6 inch display, which is 0.2 inches bigger than a standard laptop. not a huge amount of difference you may think, but it is worth it. As the screen is that slight touch wider, watching widescreen movies is nicer, also the text size is a little bigger, making it easier on the eyes. You will, however, find that while it does...
