My girlfriend went for the Palm, ands its good but it was HP for me due to the backup of HP and most importantly the WiFi capability and MS suite of software that came with it. You get Ms Word and Ms Excel, so you can read your docs on the run and also produce material which you can use on your desktop or note book later on. This is real power computing on the small manageable mobile platform. I bought it in my local PC World, in Sprucefield. They were inexperienced and not really able to help me out with my purchase, lucky its not them being reviewed. ...One thing HP Compaq are good at is making great laptops for business people. This clearly shows in this laptop as it incorporates everything a business man would need in a laptop. This laptop clearly isn’t the best looking laptop iv ever seen, but its not ugly. Its all in one colour, black, which in this case doesn’t make it look so horrible due to its nice square shape structure. There are so many things wrong with this design, yet somehow I do really like it. The installed ram on this laptop is an average 1 gb. This is ok but could have been dramatically improved if it was a 2gb of ram. The ram can however be upgraded, and it can be upgraded to a maximum of 4 gb so if this is something you think you could do your self then you could easily buy cheap ram off eBay and install it yourself, however if you don’t know... ...I had a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 560C for nearly four years, during which time I was involved in producing extensive printed material for conferences and other events. I reckon that during that time my HP printer handled at least fifty thousand sheets of A4 paper, giving top quality results to the last, until finally it fell apart all at once from sheer exhaustion. I replaced it with an Epson Stylus Color 440. The driver was terrible (out of date - had to get a new one off the Net) the printer was very noisy and it lasted the obligatory 12.5 months (how DO they get them to do that...?) I was not used heavily and probably handled less than a thousand sheets. It died. Big time. I have gone back to Hewlett Packard - I never should have left.
