...I purchased this to replace an HP G-85 all in one, and for the most part im extremely pleased. The scanner function is nothing short of fantastic! once you set up the network card (standard for the 9130) you just hit scan and a speed dial button that you previously configured that points to a folder on your computer; thats it, the printer scans, converts to pdf, and stuffs it over the network and onto your computer! saves me unbelievable amounts of time compared to my old all in one printer. print function is also good, but it doesnt do the stated ppm. good enough for most things, but i would like somewhat faster. the one problem i have is paper tray #2. it just doesnt feed right, and it apparently is a design problem. when i use heavier paper, such as the HP bright white 24#, it jams. and jams. and jams. ...What can I say. I bought this cheap HP writer for about £100. It features 24x reading, 2x writing and 2x rewriting. Its a Sony based drive underneath and this shows because build quality is very good and the HP restyle of the front is very pleasant. I had no problem configuring the drive and the software supplied is superb. Very nicely done by HP indeed. For all normal copying I've had no problems and I've now had it over a year with no reliability problems at all. The first problem I ever came across was its lack of support for 80min CDRs it would only go upto about 78:30mins and then it would freeze and halt computer if it was any longer than this. I sought a solution. HP weren't helpful it has to be said. They said it was compatible even though it wasn't. I then found out that if I flashed it with a Sony firmware it would solve... Read review

...My son recently bought a Gateway for me for Christmas. Before, I had a Compaq. The Compaq was my first home computer and it was great but was very outdated. Not once did I have to have the Compaq worked on. We had it for 4 years and at times someone was using it 24 hours a day. This Gateway stinks! Within 2 weeks we had it in for repairs. The people at the Gateway store were rude and acted like we didn't know what we were talking about. I use to work for a computer manufacturer in the test department so I do know what I am talking about. My sound card keeps going out and they tell me the only way to fix it is to perform the quick reastart. This is a pain in the you know what!!! If you don't save all your files, you lose everything. Advantages: Excellent print, scan, photocopy qualitiy, this is the best printer ive owned!
Disadvantages: Ink cartridges are a bit pricey

...the previous Canon and Epson printers look poor in comparison). This is probably due to the fact that HP printers have their print head built into the cartridge, what this means is that everytime you change your ink cartridge you are changing the print head, so this means that after 12 months or so the print quality will still be as good as when it was brand new, my last two Canon printers lasted only approx 13-14 months, before I started having major print head problems, this would not have happened with an HP printer ! The only downside to the print cartridges having the print head built into them is that it does make the ink cartridges expensive, I paid £24 on Amazon and these are original HP ink cartridges and for that price I got the colour and the black, I can swallow the cost of the ink cartridges if it means I will have a longer lasting... ...I run a charity that gives computers to disabled peole. Mostly, I have had Compaq computers donated to me for this project and I can honestly say that they are about 99% reliable. Of the over 300+ computers donated so far,270+ have been Deskpro EN series, and I have only had 3 callbacks for problems on the units.Normally a plug I hadn't pushed in properly. All the other have proved to be no problem at all. I myself use a Deskpro EN at home, and it has worked flawlessly for over 1.5 years, and its on 24 hours a day. It is also the server for a local LAN in my house, and is the master for Internet connection sharing. Faultless in operation, I would not hesitate to recommend this marque to anybody looking for a reliable unit. Any business looking for long term reliability, and a good strong workhorse should definately consider a Compaq... Read review

...This is one of the superb computers added by HP. One of the fasted computers installed with windows vista because it has 2GB RAM. Double layered DVD rewriter is excellent. The Chassis is well built. It is the right choice for business purpose. This is also good choice for home use also. HP has one problem regarding Drivers i.e. they do not ship driver CD with product, this is the same problem which this product suffers. I would have felt happy if they shipped driver CD with this product. The chassis is good but it should have been more compact for space management. Processor it shipped with is one of the best, fastest, power efficient noise less and unique. I want to recommend this product for all short of people.... Read review
