Advantages: Does the job extremley well Disadvantages: Memory not the best on the market
...The HPiPAQ Pocket PC h2210 is perhaps on of the best pockect pc's on the market its fast reliable and does the job well, whether you want it for work or just for its movie and music playing capabilitys this is the one for you.
The HPiPAQ Pocket PC h2210 is now reasnobly cheap for a PDA and has exellent programs for work purposes like pocket word and exel plus many more and others wich can be brought separately. The graphics are outstanding with just about no faults.
This is backed up by a processor speed of 400Mhz wich is fast compared to others on the market, but isnt fast enough to download music files or movies from the internet. this brings me on to my next point, the HPiPAQ Pocket PC h2210 can conect to the internet via the normal method, dial up/ broad band or by certain mobile phones, im afraid i dont know how this works...
Advantages: Flexibility and expansion Disadvantages: Side grips are a nightmare if you squeeze the unit.
...I got this little beauty primarily to use for work, which it does superbly thanks to the multitude of connection options available with it. (Bluetooth, Infra red and USB.)
Originally I was trying to decide between the Dell Axim X5 and the 2210, but the flexible build on this unit, the slender lines and the fact that HP / Compaq have been making these much longer than Dell, eventually persuaded me to go iPAQ.
The display is bright in most conditions and the sound is good from the built in speaker and excellent through headphones.
The iPAQ2210 comes with 64Mb RAM and 32Mb ROM, as opposed to the 64/48 configuration of the Dell Axim X5.
This means that if power is lost for any length of time, files saves to RAM are lost. Howeve ROM memory remains. The iPAQ2210 gets a 4-5Mb ROM filestore, as the rest is given over to the operating...

Review of HPiPAQ Pocket PC H2210
Advantages: Very bright, colourful screen, good software included Disadvantages: Side Grips, speaker
...I`ve owned my HP2210 for over a year now and I must say I`m very impressed by this little gagdet. It feels well built and has an excellent screen. The unit has two memory card slots, one will take SD cards and the other will take Compact flash type 1 and type 2 cards, so you should be able to find a card to fit it pretty easily!!, I would suggest just going for the cheapest at the time, and that seems to be CF at the moment.
The software included is excellent, Pocket PC Premium2003, so you`ll have pocket word, Excel and Media player to keep you happy, HP also bundle NeVo to control your TV (and anything else with IR control), which I find works very nicely. Bluetooth works well and syncs well with my PC and Mobile phone.
The only gripe I have is with the side grips,....they are USELESS, it took about 4 months before they completly...
Advantages: Battery life quite good, well built Disadvantages: small screen, poor phone reception
...Background:
The company I work for distributes my jobs to the field via a PDA phone.
This system was introduced last February when we started out using the disastrously poor quality O2 XDA IIi pda phone, which suffers badly from poor battery life and an overwhelming aptitude to crash several times a day.
In an attempt to improve the situation the company is trialling a couple of new handsets, one of which is the HPIPaq.
It arrived on Friday so I charged it up to put it through its paces.
I was a bit disappointed in the screen size, it is about two thirds of the size of the XDA and it is hard enough to work on that one.
The overall feel of the PDA is good, it feels solid but I can't yet tell you how it responds to being bounced off the floor.
The Wireless function works well enough but it was a let down to...
Advantages: Reliable,Easy to use and great range of features Disadvantages: none for me
...Introduction.
In a world where size or lack of size is important, consumers are always demanding smaller more versatile products. The ipaq is a combination of compact size and powerful computing power allowing you to remain connected to the digital world when you are out and about.
With the branding of a trusted and highly respected manufacturer like HP you can be assured that you will get a reliable product packed with features.
The Product.
The ipaq2210 belongs to the family of PDA's (Personal Digital Assistants)and will allow you to access email, run office applications, connect to other devices via Bluetooth or infrared and run software designed to be run on the windows mobile platform. This is a must have gadget for all the gadget lovers and professionals and will keep you organised and entertained no matter where you...
Advantages: Small powerful and sexy Disadvantages: Sometimes crashes and I lost all my settings the other day
...I got my shiny new ipaq for a bit of work and a bit of play. since setting up with my gprs mobile and a bluetooth dongle on my pc i can do the following:
Work on documents and spreadsheets.
Send and receive email using my mobile
Browse the web and play media content into my hifi using the local bluetooth network.
Keep track of my expenses for different clients.
Keep track of all my appointments and make sure i never get double booked again.
Let me read the news at the breakfast table on Sunday morning.
Connect to my main PC via terminal services.
All this took a bit of setting up! I think the only limitation of this PDA is that it does not have integral wi-fi lan support. A suitable adapter can be purchased for around £40 although the wi-fi equipped ipaq 4150 can be bought for a similar increase.
There is a wide range...
Advantages: Long battery life, easy expandability, easy to use, relatively cheap Disadvantages: Side grips fall off, 4-way navigation button loose, very low memory capacity
...out, it was easy to understand.
After about half an hour of charging I decided to switch it on and have a play around on it. I was impressed with how easy it was to navigate the different programs and menus.
Then it was time to test the Bluetooth. I have a Nokia 6820, which was full of pictures and videos that I had wanted to transfer onto another device for a long time. I started trying to pair them, and to my disappointment, they would not connect. I was continually alerted with the error "Cannot pair devices for security reasons" when I tried to pair them. After a lot of hunting around the internet, I found that it is a problem with the Bluetooth software used on the 2210 which uses a different type of authentication to that of the Nokia 6820, HP offered a beta patch to get around the problem so I installed it and it works fine now...
Advantages: Value for money, fast processor, stylus Disadvantages: Weight (too light!), lots of pressure needed to use touch screen
...HPiPaq 114 Classic
Background
HP's iPAQ 114 Classic is amongst one of the newest models released by HP in its completely overhauled range. This new series of PDAs consists of; the 100 & 200 series which are basic PDAs running on Windows Mobile 6.0, the 300 series (which has built in GPS) and the 600 & 900 series which have built in cellular phones and GPS system.
I am reviewing a model which sits in the 100 series.
What's in the box
The list below shows the contents of a HPiPAQ 114 Classic box as bought in the UK;
- HPiPAQ 114 PDA
- Stylus
- USB Sync cable which also doubles up as a mains charger (with the supplied adapter)
- Leather Carry Case
- Drivers containing software for Windows XP users (Windows Vista has native support in the means of Windows Mobile Device Center')
- Various literature including user...
Advantages: Easy to use. Disadvantages: None yet. Will update.
...I have just joined Ciao community to put the record straight on this PDA. A previous Ciao reviewer has given a negative review. I have only owned the PDA (HPiPaq 214 Enterprise Handheld) for two days. I believe I was one of the first in the UK to receive this machine as it became available from 25th January 2008. I was almost put off buying the iPaq by the other review here, but decided to give it a try. I am glad, as the PDA does everything a PDA should and at a very good speed and price. The other review here is definitely not for the iPaq 214. How did he get it some months before anyone else? The description bears no resemblance to my iPaq 214. The reviewer says the camera is appalling and defunct - it does not have a camera at all, so that clears that up. It does have 128 MB SDRAM and 256MB flash ROM, mine also came with 1GB SD card...
Advantages: Email downloads, handy windows mobile features Disadvantages: Not all networks support the handset
...HPs first attempt at a mobile phone with mobile PC features, rather than their usual iPaq handhelds, with he phone as an afterthought. This phone is extremely useful and comes with lots of useful features. Running windows mobile, it has all the things you'd come to expect, MS word, excel, powerpoint etc, Wireless, bluetooth, IR, etc. Classic iPaq games like bubblebreaker are included. You can set it to use VOIP (e.g. skype) when using the wireless network to cut communications costs.
I find this particulary useful when travelling to download my business emails using IMAP setup. The camera is fairly standard and voice activation is fairly difficult to get to work, unless you have a monotone voice!! There were some problems with battery time and the phone switching off but updates from HP seem to have fixed those.
Overall a very...
