Big Brand, Big Mistake
Review of HP iPAQ Hw6915 Mobile Messenger by
gt5952
Advantages: Great Features, easy to use
Disadvantages: Weak technology, highly underpowered, too many faults
...More faults than thought possible!
Im sorry to say that this product is a great idea, with many glitches, and HP havent been able to help me.
Heres the Glitches:
The battery is bad fitting, causing a very short loss of power occasionaly, making the device OS crash.
When the GPS is in use, and any phone options are used / when a call is recieved (even using a bluetooth headset) the GPS looses all signal, causing several minuites of signal blackout
The device has some hardware fault causing it to switch on every few minuites, even when not on charge.
When the device becomes warm (like on the dash being used as a GPS device, on charge) the charger continues to provide power, but the device refuses to take power, causing the device to loose battery power and go into hibernation when the battery reaches critical.
When the device hasnt...

alrobbo
Advantages: WiFi/GPS/Phone/'Keyboard' etc
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better; Camera average

The miniSD slot should take any size, according to HP support, I have 1gb in at the moment which for me is a good size....

Ideal as your first PDA
Review of HP Jornada 545 by
cdrogers
Advantages: Sturdy build, full colour screen, ease of use
Disadvantages: Doesn't support Compact Flash 2, only has 16MB RAM, not many add ons and upgrades available
...the untit with e-mail, contacts, appointments etc. From here you can also copy pictures, documents, and add / remove programs.
On the downside the unit only comes with 16 MB of RAM which is quickly used up. Compact Flash cards can be installed to boost this but these cards are highly priced.
The unit only comes with a CF1 slot which prevents users frm using the wide range of CF2 devices such as the IBM Microdrive, again a disappointment when other Pocket PC manufacturers such as Compaq and Cassio support them.
Overall a good machine for someone who is just venturing into the portable market, but if you want serious performance and support for future upgrades I'd go for the Compaq Ipaq....

Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC H2210 by
vioril
Advantages: Sleek and fast
Disadvantages: none
...I bought my Hewlett Packard iPAQ H2210 Pocket PC two weeks ago; inside the box you can find the following: The PDA itself, a cradle, a charger, supplied case and a charger converter. It looks very small indeed and it is made from plastic and feels pretty solid, it has some rubber grips to protect your PDA just in case it falls down.
The screen of the h22219 is pretty clear it has a 3.5 screen capable of displaying 320x240 screen resolution. Right in the middle of the screen is where you can find the HP logo and the power button and at the left of the HP logo is where the Bluetooth indicator lies in. Right on top of the h2210, you will find the microphone and the headphones slot (the standard 3.5 mm) to the left side. The stylus silo is on the right of the unit and is not spring-activated as with the Compaq iPAQs. At the back...

Portable computing - iPAKing with a punch
Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC Hx2490 by
bigfatdogs
Advantages: Powerful, fast, sleek
Disadvantages: Getting programs into the system
...iPaking with a Punch
=
I have had my iPak for about 2 years. At first I had difficulty switching over from using a written filofax to the iPaq. The beauty is that the calendar diary on this is absolutely fantastic, it remembers, and it lets you know when you need to do something.
My biggest difficulty and I suppose a bug bare I have with it is that it's hard to get programs for the iPaq. I have in effect what came with it along with a few I have bought from the HP site.
Another problem with it is that its really hungry on power. I find it runs down its charge quite quickly. Its important that you get a case for it to stop it scratching, and get extra pens for it, as they tend to go missing, or maybe its just me.
I have it connected through my wifi and its superb little browser, both at home outside when I want...

Hp iPAQ 4150
Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC H4150 by
Mehosky
Advantages: Fast Small Full of features Reliable Bright screen
Disadvantages: Small internal memory 64MB isn't impressive anymore
...First Impressions...
Glad that it was as thin and nice as believed in pictures.
The dimensions are 4.47 by 2.78 by 0.5 inches (length x width x height) = Nice
The HP iPAQ 4150, in my opinion is quite frankly great. Two years of this PDA and it has been I have yet had. Runs games and applications like a knife through butter. Smoother than anything i have very had (quite a few.)
What comes in the box:
USB desktop charger/cradle
HP iPAQ Pocket PC h4150 PDA
AC adapter
Charger adapter
Cover that goes over it and is exposed at one end
Stylus (you get 2 of them)
Battery (1000mAh Lithium Ion)
Poster
HP iPAQ Pocket PC CD has activesync in it
Manual.
Display
TFT Transflective display with 64,000 colors.
Now a VERY important bit of information you may need to know is that it has a bad...

The Compact iPAQ
Review of HP iPAQ 914c Business Messenger by
666Nemesis666
Advantages: Lots and lots of features, light, durable, easy to use (once you know how).
Disadvantages: Can be fiddly, menu's are not always easy to use.
...the HP GPS Navigation Kit you can even turn your iPAQ 914 into a Smart Travel Companion with Turn-by-Turn Navigation (no need to buy a TomTom then). And obviously no PDA would be complete without those familiar Windows Mobile® applications for organising your daily life. Something which you may not have thought possible was the inbuilt 3 Mega pixel camera - which can capture pictures or even take videos.
Full specs for 900 series HP iPAQ 910/914 include:
* Integrated Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-Band HSDPA up to 7.2 M bps with:
Integrated WiFi 802.11 b/g with WPA2 security
Integrated Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR
Integrated GPS navigation (Assisted GPS);
* Windows Mobile 6 Professional, Mobile Microsoft programs included: Office Mobile, Office Outlook Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile;
* Marvell PXA270 Processor...

HP iPAQ 2210
Review of HP iPAQ Pocket PC H2210 by
Dgolledge
Advantages: Very bright, colourful screen, good software included
Disadvantages: Side Grips, speaker
...I`ve owned my HP 2210 for over a year now and I must say I`m very impressed by this little gagdet. It feels well built and has an excellent screen. The unit has two memory card slots, one will take SD cards and the other will take Compact flash type 1 and type 2 cards, so you should be able to find a card to fit it pretty easily!!, I would suggest just going for the cheapest at the time, and that seems to be CF at the moment.
The software included is excellent, Pocket PC Premium2003, so you`ll have pocket word, Excel and Media player to keep you happy, HP also bundle NeVo to control your TV (and anything else with IR control), which I find works very nicely. Bluetooth works well and syncs well with my PC and Mobile phone.
The only gripe I have is with the side grips,....they are USELESS, it took about 4 months before they completly...

A PC That Fits In Your Hand!
Review of HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld by
Surj1
Advantages: Microsoft Office Mobile, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & 624MHz Processor
Disadvantages: Small Main Memory
...The HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld is an advanced piece of kit which you can comfortably take with you anywhere you go, almost like a mini laptop! It actually runs on a 624MHz processor, I remember my first ever PC which was 133MHz, that really does put things in perspective.
The design is very sophisticated with a nice 4 inch TFT touch screen display which is an improvement from HP's previous iPAQ's. It has many I/O for headphones, microphone, voice record and a USB port. So while using this iPAQ you can enjoy using Microsoft Office Mobile and all its applications including Outlook which can be synchronized very easily via the USB or Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Wi-Fi connectivity allows you to access the internet and your e-mail quickly while on the go, providing your in a Wi-Fi hotspot. Wi-Fi is becoming a much needed and extremely...
