The perfect small business / office printer
Review of HP LaserJet 4050tn by
andrew_newton
Advantages: Quick, Quality, Cheap printing.
Disadvantages: Quite a large desk footprint.
...The company where I work as an IT Administrator had purchased HP Laserjet IIIP printers when the original network was installed some years ago and these printers are still going strong today. The need for a new printer was driven by the slow printing speed of the IIIP and the lack of media capacity.
The LaserJet 4050TN was chosen for three main reasons, It's speed, capacity and stand-alone network capability. The Printer is a fast laserjet, with three paper trays and a HP JetDirect network card. We run it on a TCP/IP network with 15 users and it performs briliantly.
Not only is this printer fast, it is also economical. Each cartridge lasts for thousands upon thousands of pages and the cost per sheet for the printing an average business does is well below 1p per sheet.
If you run a small office or business network and want a printer...

A Fast and economical Inkjet with laser quality
Review of HP OfficeJet Pro K550 by
chief585
Advantages: Fast, Laser Quality, cheap to run, Optional Duplexer, Extra paper tray
Disadvantages: Large and quite noisy. Also doesnt like paper below 80gsm
...This is the fastest printer I've ever had (after canon ip4000, Epson r340 and brother dcp110). I print 500+ pages per month and this hp printer is ideal for this purpose. Its a little on the large side and make considerable noise so potential buyers might want to take this into account. Another reason for my purchase was HP offer for 3 year next business day warranty upgrade.
With Hp original ink cartridges the cost per page is very low. The original 20ml black cartridge lasted for 600 A4 full page letters, that's 33 pages/ml of ink on normal mode (1.7p per page) and my print coverage was definitely more than the typical 5% (manufacturers use this coverage as benchmark to calculate cartridge life).
And finally the print quality is excellent, even on draft mode (for proof reading). It's not the best if you are looking for printing...

HP 1100 Paper handling
Review of HP LaserJet 1100 by
darkteckno
Advantages: Print Quality
Disadvantages: Paper Handling
...Although the 1100 has all the usual HP features and print quality, it really falls down on it's paper handling capabilities. Having purchased a dozen or so of these printers we found within a very short space of time that the printer was feeding several pages at once and consequently jamming. We tried all the usual methods to stop this such as changing the paper supplier and ensuring the paper was separated before loading. After having spoken to HP they sent out a small rubber coated part which made no difference whatsoever. As this fault occurs on all our 1100's I assume HP know of this fault but are ignoring it....

If I could type as quick as this prints...........
Review of HP LaserJet 1320 by
dyls
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: No network port
...It now seems harder and harder to find that printer that is value for money with price of the unit cost of the toner if it needs a separate fuser element to the plain old cost per page or (pp). HP are well known for making good quality printers and for good reason as they are normally have the reliability, economy and quality with its range of office laser printers.
The new LaserJet 1320 comes in a smart white and grey case. At 10.5Kg, its not going to be blown of the desk with a gust, the high build-quality is of a standard you would expect from HP. The printer pushes out pages at a fast speed, It's quoted rate is 22 pages per minute, Print quality is crisp and black.
The paper tray holds around 200 sheets of A4 paper at a time.
Cartridges cost about £50, so the pp price costs in the about 2p. However, as HP points out, its...

The reliable HP LaserJet 4250dtn
Review of HP LaserJet 4250dtn by
netgekko
Advantages: Networkable double sided printing with a small footprint
Disadvantages: There isnt one, I like this printer.
...This is a great workhorse printer from H.P. its fast with clear, crisp print results, the extra paper tray is useful for having plain and letter headed paper ready to print, or even different sizes.
Easily networkable, and the duplex is fast without paper jams which seems to happen often on other machines I've used.
This machine has a small footprint so if space is at a premium in your office but the workload is high, this might be the printer for you. Hewlett Packard make good reliable printers in general and if the LJ4250dtn develops any faults H.P. parts are cheaper and more easily available than most.
There is one fault I am aware of with this machine relating to the duplex unit, if you expect to do a lot of double sided printing, it has a habit of becoming a bit noisy; there is a cog that wears under the extra load caused...

Ideal for wired home networks & students
Review of HP LaserJet P2015dn by
piratess2104
Advantages: Reliability; specification dpi; trustworthy model; size
Disadvantages: Weight; installation difficulties a possibility
...Brief description: Compact, black-and-white Laserjet at 1200 dpi. Now discontinued, so ONLY available second-hand.
CONTENTS: SUITABLE FOR // INSTALLATION // SPECIFICATION //USE // CONCLUSION
-- SUITABLE FOR --
If you're looking for a second-hand printer, the HP LaserJet 4000n is generally good for home environments, especially those where a family has to share study space: it doesn't take up too much room on a desk, and the fact that the paper comes out the top means that you won't have your nice smooth copies smudging each other or spilling onto the floor. The HP LaserJet 4000n may also have a role to play in small business, but only if your company has a LAN connection (which many small businesses do not).
-- INSTALLATION --
Do be aware that, since the product is discontinued, you may not always get the technical support you need...

HP Laserjet 1200
Review of HP LaserJet 1200 by
dianeo3
Advantages: Reliable and compact
Disadvantages: Noisy
...I've had this printer for over two years and I've never had a problem with it- not even a paper jam! It was easy to install and is quite compact for a laserjet (415mmx486mmx253mm). The driver is included in Windows XP and it is basically just a matter of connecting the printer.
I ordered one for work first so that I could try it out before buying one for home. I have always been a fan of HP printers so I didn't look at any other brands. I chose this HP model because it was cheap enough for a home user and looked better than the other models. I don't use it for printing pictures as it's only monochrome but the resolution and speed are more than adequate for printing documents. spread sheets and web pages.
On the downside, it is a bit noisy so I've put it to one side and under the desk. The cartridges are slightly more expensive than...

Laserjet 4050T
Review of HP LaserJet 4050 by
mattboxsey
Advantages: Fantastic Print Speed, Backward compatible consumables
Disadvantages: High priced consumables
...I took delivery of a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4050T this week to replace a very hard worked LaserJet 4000TN which we have had 18 months and is now about ready to collapse.
The New Laserjet 4050T uses the same toner cartridges as the 4000, and accepts the old JetDirect 10/100 network card. (Enabling the unit to just have the card installed and it runs even using the old 4000 series driver.)
The unit also provides wireless printing access for mobile users; enhanced document management like private printing; easy internet printing for general office users, as well as solutions for barcode, MICR and virtually any paper handling and finishing needs. The HP JetSend enabled FIR receiver eliminates the search for cables and drivers. 1200dpi at full engine speed. 16ppm print speed. HP WebJet Admin for remote management help reduce power...

HP - making you a Happy Person!
Review of HP Color LaserJet 3000n by
cobainkurdt
Advantages: Print quality - exceptional to say the least...!
Disadvantages: Loud as hell (to be frank!)
...Introduction
HP - you truly will leave a Happy Person if you buy this product.
Colour laser printing has overwhelmed its old fashioned colourless equivalent. HP's LaserJet 3000n is mid-priced and Max-quality.
Features of the HP Color LaserJet 3000n
The 3000n has the ability to produce 30 ppm (pages per minute - meaning that it has revolutionised printing as it can print a colour perfect quality page in 2 seconds!)
The 3000n can also print the best quality-wise pictures at a colour resolution of 600 dpi x 600 dpi (dots per inch).
Not only can the 3000n produce excellent colour pictures, but it can be connected (directly) to a network (Ethernet) and be used as an individual printer!
The 3000n also possesses a 533 MHz (mega-hertz) processor which enables the printer to convert a complicated document into its printed outline...
