...I've had this printer for over two years and I've never had a problem with it- not even a paper jam! It was easy to install and is quite compact for a laserjet (415mmx486mmx253mm). The driver is included in Windows XP and it is basically just a matter of connecting the printer. I ordered one for work first so that I could try it out before buying one for home. I have always been a fan of HP printers so I didn't look at any other brands. I chose this HP model because it was cheap enough for a home user and looked better than the other models. I don't use it for printing pictures as it's only monochrome but the resolution and speed are more than adequate for printing documents. spread sheets and web pages. Disadvantages: Expensive and cannot print in A3 size, difficult in loading paper .

...I bought this printer last summer, as I work from home and the cost of inkjet printing was getting a bit expensive, so I splashed out on this HP LaserJet 1100 model. Before buying I did a lot of research and found that, although a bit more expensive than your average printer of this specification, from past experience buying them for the office and home, I have found HP printers to be extremely reliable and they just keep on going. We have an HP in our office at the moment that is 10 years old and still going strong, never needed anything doing except a bit of cleaning - so based on it's pedigree, I went for the HP.
