One thing that is compromised though is the portability, entertainment laptops are made to keep at home and not really to carry about with you all the time, so whilst the specification may look good, don?t expect one of these to be very portable. The Pavilion dv9820ea combines two colours, silver and black in order to make it look very up to date and futuristic even. It appears nice and rounded, and its shell makes the laptop feel very stable and robust. My essential travelling companion -my hp pavilion 2000x laptop

Advantages: Small and powerful , tablet form and touch screen, speedy, two batteries

I feel it was quite expensive compared to what is available now; I think I paid about £600 from Staples for the laptop and three year warranty. It is not exactly a net book but it is a small laptop. I have weighed this (very important when travelling) and it weighs just under 2kg with one battery and just over that with the larger battery. ...A well designed, high quality affordable laptop, the HP pavilion dv5 doesn't fail to please in looks, performance or price. In terms of look and design, flashy is a good word for it. It has a glossy black case which shines in the light, then you open it. The keyboard-surround is split horizontally: the bottom half is very light silver with a white check pattern, and the upper half perforated silver plastic. Around the edge of the laptop, there is a chrome-effect strip which sparkles and shimmers. Even the mouse pad has a finish that is so reflective you can see your face in it. This is the 'bling-bling' of the laptop world. It also feels pretty solid, I don't think you would be able to break it easily and I have faith in it's durability and robustness. Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: The heatsink and fan

...as the user can install these devices much more faster. The Graphics Card is fairly standard, it would not be the greatest performer in the gaming entertainment category. Though as a good budget manufacturers Graphics Card it certainly does handle itself well when playing games. For people that like upgrading the motherboard can not be used to upgrade Graphics Cards. So in effect upgrading this computer is not going to happen. 80 giga byte harddrive is again factory standard, though quite low in terms of the latest computer desktops available on the market these days. Though again upgrading this aspect is not a problem as external Hard Drives with much bigger capacity can be used here. The office packages contained included Microsoft Works, which I am sure few people use. The Office suite must be purchased seperately...

...I purchased my HP Pavilion Laptop (model number dv6625em) in January 2008 after my previous laptop finally stopped working (and was beyond repair after 4 years of use and multiple failing components). I did a lot of research in order to find the best laptop at a reasonable price (I had £500), because I have heard lots of horror stories about unreliable laptops, or ones that are unpleasant to use. I chose the HP dv6625em because it matched my requirements and was available from John Lewis. They have a good name as a retailer and provided a free 2-year guarantee, which seemed sensible. Decent Entertainment Laptop

Advantages: Good battery life, features, design/style.
Disadvantages: No built in webcam, wireless switch in a daft place.

I am not a super techie so I won\'t go on about the front side bus speed and processor bit rates etc but will try and let you have an insite into the features and what its like to live with a dv2045ea HP. I think I am right in saying that this particular model was one of the first of the \"new\" fingerprint design cases that HP introduced. Its made of the same type of high quality and very shiny plastics that you might find on an ipod etc. Looks great until you touch it, then oh the finger prints!! I can see how the design got its name, although they do supply a quality cloth to polish your shiny black laptop with but then who wants to spend time cleaning their laptop? Powerhouse laptop that isn't that portable the HDX9430 EA

Disadvantages: Size, weight, small(ish) storage

...I bought one of these just over 12 months ago, in that time I have upgraded both had drives and had it back to HP for repair (more on that in a minute). First of this thing is huge, I mean massive, don't think its not a blot bigger than a 17" screened laptop, it is trust me its so big it doesn't fit on average sized peoples laps. Its heavy, it weights around 7kg (about 15lbs in old money I think) thats a lot, you won't be casually carrying this in one hand and your coffe in the other, it is so heavy it generates it own gravity field and sherpas are required to move it further than 15feet. So thats the bad bits, overall its fantastic, the capabilities of this machine mean that I am running Conan: Age of Hyborea at full detail and its brilliantly smooth, the keyboard is very good and quite central with a number pad at the LH side...
