HP Pavilion DV6625em - high spec, shiny; questionable quality?
Advantages: Nice to use; wonderful screen and features
Disadvantages: Appalling customer service; cracks on lid; poor A/C adaptor reliability
...I purchased my HP Pavilion Laptop (model number dv6625em) in January 2008 after my previous laptop finally stopped working (and was beyond repair after 4 years of use and multiple failing components). I did a lot of research in order to find the best laptop at a reasonable price (I had £500), because I have heard lots of horror stories about unreliable laptops, or ones that are unpleasant to use.
I chose the HP dv6625em because it matched my requirements and was available from John Lewis. They have a good name as a retailer and provided a free 2-year guarantee, which seemed sensible. I do not have a branch of John Lewis nearby, so I ordered it online.
I?m going to write mainly in the past tense, just as a style of writing. I do still own the laptop but I?m not currently using it, as I will explain later.
The laptop specifications are...

The Very Sexy HP Pavilion
Advantages: Remote control, touch controls and an integrated 1.3 megapixels web cam
Disadvantages: The battery life and the Windows Vista operating system
...I recently accquired the HP Pavilion dv6331eu in an exchange with John Lewis for my old laptop, which had broken down. I am currently writing this review using my HP Pavilion and I must say so far so good. I have taken a personal shine to this laptop immediately and is a vast improvement from my last laptop, which was not very old at all.
This laptop has been expertly designed and finished to have an extremely pleasing cosmetic look and style even before the lid is opened. With its black exterior, polished black lid and screen mount and the silver keyboard surround it looks very classy, elegant and expensive. The presentation is complimented with the touch controls for sound and quickplay to emphasise the top of the range essence that it beams. The final cosmetic feature of this laptop is the handy slim remote control. I personally...

Hp DV9030ea media entertainment system - Excellent but overheats
Advantages: Powerfull, stylish, many featured, Large display with built in camera and full Keyboard.
Disadvantages: Overheating, noisy fan and short battery life. It's large and Heavy.
...The laptop is a powerfull laptop with a 1.8x2 ghz processor and Nvidea Go 7600 256mb graphics card and looks very stylish but has a terrible overheating problem which you can feel if you have it balanced on your legs; even with space for the fan your always jiggleing it about wondering if it has enough air (The fan is quite noisy).
It has a large 17inch display, bluetooth and built in camera and touchpad. Full sized keyboard. Touch panel buttons for media centre and quickplay. 4 USB ports, express card slot with tv aereal
I like it a lot but it burns out once a year. The graphics card is fixed to the motherboard so when it goes you have to replace the motherboard too. HP did give me a great fast service on the extended warrantly on this problem (see the website under dv9030ea) but the problem is the pain of having to keep replacing...

HP Pavilion DV2130ea made for everything!!!
Advantages: remote control, in-built camera, HP imprint finish, 120GB, Core Duo processor
Disadvantages: didn't find any jet.
...your pavilion series dv2100 it looks like it's full of presents. Besides genuine Windows XP Media Center it has all the software you will need to use all the features of this laptop. Microsoft Works (preparing documents), Sonic soft (burning and copying CD's & DVD's), Adobe reader (reading digital books), HP Photosmart Premier (organizing & editing photos), Cyberlink DVD (watching DVD movies), QuickPlay Direct (specially dedicated autoplay tool), Norton Antivirus 2006 (protection from internet threads - although license is only for 60 days), Help & Support (specially designed support for HP laptops).
Overall
I was really impressed by this laptop. I've done a lot of researching before I decided to buy it. I would say it was the best configuration and performance for the price I paid. If you're into new things and want to do...

HP DV9655EA, The Modern Life
Advantages: Everything, AMD Dual Core, Graphics, Looks, Performance, Specs
Disadvantages: None
...The HP DV9655ea.
As a small business owner (I.T) I have to have a Laptop. It's as simple as that. My old laptop was a Toshiba Equium M70 on XP. Being in I.T meant that I had to have the latest OS from Microsoft in order to help clients when they need help with Vista.
Usually when somebody asks me to find them a laptop for their needs, I can do it swiftly, effectively and find them their perfect laptop.
This was not to be the case with me, I sat there for hours and hours going through supplier products. The main 3 I whittled myself down to where Toshiba, HP and Acer.
I already had a Toshiba and to be honest, I really thought the speakers on their new version looked naff. Acer, a pretty budget make and often need repair.
After going through specs after specs, I chose this laptop, Down to the build quality, reliability...

A top-quality machine from HP
Advantages: Looks brilliant, huge screen, very powerful
Disadvantages: Size and weight (only to be expected), short battery time
...comparison. When the screen is black, it also serves as a mirror, because it is so reflective. Because of this reflectiveness, the brightness sometimes needs to be turned up in bright sunlight, but this can easily be done with a few presses of function+f8.
Keyboard and Touchpad:
The keyboard is the standard size, QWERTY thing that everyone is used to, but the difference with this laptop is the presence of the num pad. This means that when typing, your hands are shifted over to the left slightly, which is why the touchpad is off-centred, so your palms don't touch the pad while you type (clever guys at HP).
The touch pad takes quite a bit of getting used to, and will probably need a lot of adjusting so that you get it working how you want it to. The problem with being such a big screen is that it takes so long for the cursor to travel...

The HP Pavilion Slimline s3821 Media Box
Advantages: Fast, built in WI-FI, Nice HD Graphics, 15 in 1 memory card reader and portable media bay.
Disadvantages: Too much like a PC and not enougth like a media device
...The HP Paviion Slimline s3821 uk-p is a very competitively priced HTPC and very good value for money.
The HP Pavilion s3821 is powered by a Dual ? Core processer giving it the higher clock speed needed by HTPC?s. The higher clock speed allows programs like Photoshop and I-Tunes to run correctly without lag and generally giving it a media heart. It?s not the smallest in its range but that allows it to have a nice sized graphics card init. It also has a HDMI port provided by its nice sized graphics card, allowing it to plug straight into your HDTV. This does appear to be an added extra which is absent in the other PC?s of its range. It has a 15 in 1 memory card reader on the front along with the usual HP Pocket Media Drive bay (which is sold seperatly0, but is again one of those features that just aren?t seen in others of its range. It...

dc6552ea pavilion laptop
Advantages: the look, 2gb ram, dual core, media designs, dvd rw, lightscribe
Disadvantages: vista, no backwards support to XP, graphics chip, no boot disc but rather partitioned harddrive
...Ok so where do I start...The good. This laptop looks incredibly nice, it is one of the best looking laptops around I would say, the specs look really good for what you pay for it, 2gb RAM, 150gb hard drive, nVidia graphics (up to 559mb apprently), the display is amazing all in all a really nice looking laptop. The HP remote is really useful, i'm not entirely sure on the range of it but it works on IR usage so, so long as your are kinda close and pointing it at the right area it should do what you want it to. The remote also slides into the laptop next to the DVD drive so you won't lose it. The 5 in 1 card reader is also really useful, I use a variety of memory cards and they all work (i did have to get an adapter for my Memory stick duo however). The HP 'QuickPlay' software is much like Windows Media Center, but it works better...

Review of Hewlett Packard Pavilion Media Center Notebook
A Hewlett Packard notebook using microsoft vista home premium Operating System. This is a quite good notebook for beginners and entry level Notebook.
What I like about this Notebook, is that it is a quite decent specifications allowing me, to surf Online, play games, write letters and compose e mails on a multi tasking basis. The combination of amd's Dual Core processing ability and its useful one hundred Giga byte storage space allows me to carry out most basic notebook tasks fairly well.
The amd athlon sixty four times two, core processing unit, with a maximum running speed of one point nine Giga hertz which can easily be overclocked. Here what I am trying to say is that the speed of processor is not that good. By comparison this specification...
