A Leap in Technology - the HP Photosmart C4585

Advantages: Wireless printing and scanning saves time and money for business
Disadvantages: Sometimes needs turned on/off when scanning lots of documents

...I received the HP Photosmart C4585 as a Christmas 2008 present and so am not sure how much was paid for it- though I know it was bought from Curry's. To sum up in the first paragraph all I can say is that this in an incredible piece of technology- the freedom of not having to plug in printers and scanners into my laptop is a great asset that I did not think I could appreciate to such an extent. The product was found in excellent condition upon opening the packaging due to the strong polystyrene inserts that fitted the box like a glove. Inside all the relevent user manuals, quick start guide (for both windows and apple), warranty cards and sample ink cartridges were included. When paired with my wireless-g network this printer/scanner/copier took approximately 30 minutes too set up. I am quite computer literate so perhaps a complete...

HP Photosmart C6180 all in one

Advantages: Read my review, there are so many
Disadvantages: Only a few that i have stated at the end on my review.

.... I went onto Word and printed a simple document. I was doing all this in a different room to that the printer was in. I clicked print and went into the room the printer was in, just as i got there the printer started up and was printing the page. I must say, from when you click print on the laptop and when the printer starts printing there is a slight gap, takes longer than when it is connected via USB but that was expected. Scanning & copying: Now for the scanning and copying. This was simple to do both on the printer itself and via the computer. I first started wth a document in the flat bed. Quality was fantastic even when it was only selected at 600dpi. I selected the copy function on the printer itself and it gave me a wide choice of places to scan to including microsoft Word, Paint, HP photosmart which comes with the printer...

HP Photosmart C5280 Ink-drinking all in 1 PSC

Advantages: Price, features, ease of use print quality.
Disadvantages: Cost of ink, a bit bulky. prints on reverse side (load paper print side down)

...This is my third HP printer, bought after my Brother PSC wore out. The first thing that struck me is how much bigger (but also lighter) it is from my old printer, it was easy to set up and get going and is also simple to use the on screen menus, it can also be used without the PC thanks to its flip-up colour LCD screen, It will also print directly onto a printable DVD/CD, (not many printers on the market have this feature)! It does a good job at scanning/duplicating photos and has a very nice feature for restoring the colour and removing scratches from old (scanned) photos, text printing is also very good, there is a host of front panel buttons including one for red-eye removal (that works). Scans can also be done in black and white or colour and the supplied software has most things needed to edit and enhance your work, front panel...

HP Photosmart - A Smart Desicion!

Advantages: Fun & Simple to use without a PC, loads of features, touchscreen

...I saw this printer advertised back in July when I was trying to get to grips with all the photo's stored on my hard drive. I'm never without my digital camera, in fact I probably use it daily but the photo's always end up getting shoved onto my computer and forgotten about. HP PhotoSmart D7160 - one year of use

Advantages: Easy to use. Good colour reproduction. Easy to change inkjets.
Disadvantages: Must use 100 gsm paper or else printer constantly jams or damages output

...I bought this printer because I was fed up forking out lots of money for ink jet cartridges which would run out of one colour and mean that the rest of the ink was unused. So in December 2007 I purchased the HP PhotoSmart D7160. This printer has individual inkjet cartridges for each colour. However in January 2008 the printer just packed up and would not work. I contacted Hewlett Packard and explained that I had no idea why it would not work. They were very helpful, non-judgemental and identified the problem (technical and beyond my ken) and arranged for me to send the printer back. The carrier collected it and replaced it with a brand new printer. It worked like a dream. The aftersales service cannot be faulted. I use the printer for making leaflets and printing photgraphs. This means I tend to use a lot of blue and black...

Be smart, get a Photosmart

Advantages: All-in-one multifunctional product
Disadvantages: Cartridges quite expensive

.... At the time, i purchased one very cheap and they're one of the best value all-in-one printers out at the moment. The Photosmart series is extensive, and has be improved vastly over time. I used to use an older model which was prone to jamming as it took up multiple pages at once. This was an issue at the time, but on the newer model they seem to have fixed this. I'm not a huge fan of HP software, although I dislike most software computer peripherals come with these days. They tend to clutter up the hard drive. The HP software is OK although it seems slow to react and is not particularly useful. Cartridges are expensive but there aren't many that are cheap these days! Speed-wise, its quick as far as inkjets go but if you want speedy, get a LaserJet. Overall though, a strong contender in the battle of the inkjets....

HP Photosmart 7260 Inkjet Printer Review

Advantages: Small, Card Readers, Nice prints, Good Value
Disadvantages: Paper jams, Lack of borderless A4 printing, costly cartridges

...have seen figures for the 5150 of 3.1p (4.5c) per mono page, and 9.4p (13c) per colour page. It claims to produce 125 photos (10x15cm) from a photo cartridge, but presumably this would also use a colour cartridge up. This would put the ink costs at 34p (48c) per photo. Compatible and remanufactured cartridges are obtainable, but still quite hard to find, and nearly as expensive as original HP ones. And I've not tried refilling the cartridges yet. But you've got to try to deprive the printer manufacturers' of this income to discourage them from using this ridiculous marketing model. And then there's the paper costs... For borderless 6x4" photos, you'll need paper with a special tab. HP charge 30p/photo just for this. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the HP Photosmart 7260 and would recommend it for light-moderate users wanting to print...
