Go photo crazy with the D5160

...To begin, this is a fantastic photo printer with many different features and I highly recommend you purchase it if you want beautiful colour quality photo prints, in a matter of seconds. So, you get it out the box and set it up by plugging in the power supply and connecting the printer to the PC via USB Cable (This is not included in the bundle, which is a little off, considering you need it to hook it up to your PC and get use out of it). So, after plugging it in and finding a place for it, you install the HP Photosmart software which comes with the printer bundle obviously. This is done by simply following the on screen instructions. This takes approximatly 20 minutes all in all. Once you have done this, you plug in the ink cartiges (A monkey could do this, it is extremly easy) and your away. I strongly recommend a purchase...

...As with all HP products you can expect great quality and crisp grey scale images. The benefit of using Original HP inkjet print cartridges is that they offer consistent print quality and reliable performance.With the HP 350 you can expect "archival-quality documents that resist fading for decades" thanks to HP Vivera Ink. Although HP print cartridges are coming down in price you can still expect to pay a lot more than other substitute brands. The real question is whether the extra money is worth it. With some of the alternative products on the market today I am inclined to believe you can the same quality for less money. Many alternative ink cartridges contain more ink than official HP cartridges, however the problem with these cartridges is not always being sure of the quality of the product you are buying, nor the reliabilty...

...The HP Photosmart D5160 is a lovely printer keenly priced. The photos it prints are sharp and clear, given the use of the right paper. On standard document printing it ranks along side other HP inkjets. Where it excels other HP inkjets is the ability to load SD cards, USB memory sticks and the like directly into the printer itself and therefore avoids the need to have a computer. It also can print directly onto CD/DVDs with a printable surface (Not standard CD/DVDs). Therefore you get a lot of printer for your money. For picture quality and speed it is up there with the best. Its price is very attractive too. However, there is one major gripe you should be aware of. There are many printers on the market that print photos and documents. Very few print directly onto CD/DVDs. One of the reasons many might choose this particular printer...

HP Photosmart - A Smart Desicion!

Advantages: Fun & Simple to use without a PC, loads of features, touchscreen

...I saw this printer advertised back in July when I was trying to get to grips with all the photo's stored on my hard drive. I'm never without my digital camera, in fact I probably use it daily but the photo's always end up getting shoved onto my computer and forgotten about. ...dont know if it was a mistake but it was very anoying. But i luckily found a cable and it was very easy to set it up with the computer. This printer also has a special Photo Pinter. It comes with about 3 peices of photo paper and a special photo ink cartridge. Again, very easy to connect together. And also! it can print onto CDs and DVDs which is very useful. Not only does this printer work well but it looks great! and it feels very sturdy! The software included is very easy to set up and works like a charm. and the set up instructions for the printer is super aswell! I would highly recommend this to amyone looking for a printer...

HP PhotoSmart D7160 - one year of use

Advantages: Easy to use. Good colour reproduction. Easy to change inkjets.
Disadvantages: Must use 100 gsm paper or else printer constantly jams or damages output

...I bought this printer because I was fed up forking out lots of money for ink jet cartridges which would run out of one colour and mean that the rest of the ink was unused. So in December 2007 I purchased the HP PhotoSmart D7160. This printer has individual inkjet cartridges for each colour. However in January 2008 the printer just packed up and would not work. I contacted Hewlett Packard and explained that I had no idea why it would not work. They were very helpful, non-judgemental and identified the problem (technical and beyond my ken) and arranged for me to send the printer back. The carrier collected it and replaced it with a brand new printer. It worked like a dream. The aftersales service cannot be faulted. I use the printer for making leaflets and printing photgraphs. This means I tend to use a lot of blue and black...

HP C4480 Printer - Great all-rounder

...; it is rather complicated, but is ok once you've figured it out and got the hang of it. Changing the cartridges is really simple - this printer takes HP 350 black ink cartridges, and HP 351 tri-colour ink cartridges. These are also available in 'XL' sizes, which provide a lot more ink for your money - really good value. Special HP 348 photo cartridges are also available, for those wanting to print high-quality images. The front flap folds in completely flush with the rest of the printer, which is great for saving space when it's out of use. Whilst the printer offers fantastic value for money and all the features you could possibly want, the software is probably the main thing that lets it down. The software is slightly fiddly to use and not overly logical, however you soon get used to it, and personally I do not often need to use it...
