HP PSC 1215 All in one printer/scanner/photocopier

Advantages: Its 3 in 1 so you don't have loads of cables everywhere

...About 2 years ago I decided it was time to update my printer and after scanning around for some bargains I decided that the HP PSC 1215 would be the one for me. It was just what I needed a printer/scanner and copier all in one with a free 3.1 MP camera chucked in to seal the deal. Style and Design ------------------------ The printer is a silvery-grey in colour and looks a bit like a breezeblock. The scanner copier is situated at the top and the paperfeeder is located at the front. There is also a LED display on the top with a group of buttons. HP C4480 Printer - Great all-rounder

Advantages: High text and image print quality; prints, scans and copies; good value for money
Disadvantages: Not got wireless; software is a bit complicated

...; it is rather complicated, but is ok once you've figured it out and got the hang of it. Changing the cartridges is really simple - this printer takes HP 350 black ink cartridges, and HP 351 tri-colour ink cartridges. These are also available in 'XL' sizes, which provide a lot more ink for your money - really good value. Special HP 348 photo cartridges are also available, for those wanting to print high-quality images. The front flap folds in completely flush with the rest of the printer, which is great for saving space when it's out of use. Whilst the printer offers fantastic value for money and all the features you could possibly want, the software is probably the main thing that lets it down. The software is slightly fiddly to use and not overly logical, however you soon get used to it, and personally I do not often need to use it...

Advantages: Small, stylish functional

HP 3325 - a Cheap Printer?

Advantages: cheap, good print quality
Disadvantages: not durable, wasteful in inks

Review of HP Deskjet 3325

HP 5940 - Brilliant, cheap printer!

Advantages: Excellent quality, very fast printer!
Disadvantages: None really...

...and the ink consumed are all fantastic I've started to have some problems... This printer is just over a year old now and the feed mechanism is touch and go at best. The problem started around six months in and has worsened since. Basically the printer does not grip the paper and therefore does not feed properly. I contacted HP and they asked me all the usual questions (have I used te software cleaning, feeding problem shooters etc) then suggested I contact a different department and ask for a kit that has been designed for this printer to effectively remedy this problem. I am still waiting for my kit so will be back in touch after I've used it....

HP BT 300 - A great addition to your HP printer

Advantages: Small, easy to use, cheap, convenient

...I recently bought a new HP printer. It's an all in one that does photos while also having a built in scanner, copier, network print server, email system and web server. On the front of this printer was a USB port and a card reader. The USB port is excellent for getting files from USB devices, but really comes in to it's own when used with the BT 300 from HP. This is basically a small USB stick that sticks in the USB port on your printer and enables it as a bluetooth print server. This means that any bluetooth enabled device can print to the printer without wires. The second I plugged in the device my printer recognised it and displayed the bluetooth logo on the little LCD screen. A quick scan on my phone revealed my printer sitting waiting. HP D1470 Inkjet Printer.

Advantages: Very cheap, durable, and excellent for the amateur computer user.
Disadvantages: Tray a little too small, and a few issues with packing the tray with paper.

...I bought the D1470 on special offer in Argos several months ago for £19.99, the current price on promotion being £18.74 (as of the 9th February 2008), although my local store is having difficulty getting the item into stock again (the predecessor, D1460 is available on Amazon just shy of £24). Again, home delivery options are apparently limited with the item currently out of stock in their distribution centre, so be prepared to be disappointed. Ebay auctions are available, but you will be looking at between £25 - £29.99. Typical ink cartridge prices (genuine HP) are currently £12.89 in Argos for black, and £16.99 for colour (this printer taking the standard 2 cartridges, not the mixers in other printers).
