... The HTC Hero
I test and review a lot of mobile phones, but in a mobile phone market dominated by Apple, Blackberry, Samsung and Nokia, I can't help but have a soft spot for HTC; I think it is a British thing, a love for the underdog? But as much as I admire HTC, I can't help but worry that in trying to take on competitors like the iPhone their new HTC Hero is punching above its weight. So I turned it on to find out?
Appearance
When I was told that I was finally going to get my hands on HTC's latest handset, I thought I'd better do a bit of research? but when saw the publicity pictures I feared the worst? It looked a lot like its predecessor the T-Mobile G1, with that Jimmy Hill like chin. This was a bad start for me; I love the design of all of HTC's handsets, except one? the T-Mobile G1, so I wasn't expecting...

Review of HTC Hero
Advantages: Thin but big, 1GHz processor, runs Windows, loads of extra software. Disadvantages: A little too sensitive, Not as many colours on screen as other phone
...Well I got this phone and wow...Its big the screen is big, the processor inside is even bigger.
Its hard to explain the smoothness of the phone once it has started, however compared to my iPhone it is smooth and that is saying something.
With Windows Mobile 6.5 as the operating system the amount of software and customisation available is really out of this world.
The fact that the HTC HD2 is quite smart, ie when you pick up the phone to answer a call the ring volume goes down. With lots of little touchs like this it makes the user experiance quite outstanding.
The fact that the 1ghz processor inside really makes the whole phone run so smoothly. Add the fact that Windows Mobile 6.5 has a huge back catalog of programs most of which work without the need to adjust any advanced features to make it work, sort of put the other...

Review of HTC HD2
Advantages: Well made, interface is surprisingly good, Android apps are excellent Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, no bluetooth data transfer capability
...available on Orange.
The choices were limited and having sustained a poor Blackberry experience for 18 months I was keen to explore new avenues. Luckily the HTC Hero presented itself to me as a viable option and despite having seen the television advertising campaign a couple of months prior and mocking it's cringe worthy 'Hero' branding I still took the plunge as it posed the most impressive package from the choices available to me.
Out of the box:
At this time I was still adamant that I wanted and IPhone and realised that the HTC Hero was easily fetching £300 on auction sites. I thought to myself "as soon as I take it out of the box I'll know whether to keep it or sell it for an IPhone". Indeed as I removed it from the box I immediately noticed how well built the phone is. It's of reassuring weight and the teflon finish of the Graphite...

Review of HTC Hero
Advantages: well designed, good touchscreen, good QWERTY keypad, improved sofware, good widescreen display Disadvantages: Expensive, no spec bump, no flash module, heavy
... HTC Touch Pro 2
It wasn't all too long ago that I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of HTC's first Touch Pro handset, but when I did get my hands on it I was a little disappointed. I obviously wasn't the only one as I now have in my hand the new version, the HTC Touch Pro2. Even with its improved software and a very nicely designed tilt screen, I still needed to be convinced this was a serious alternative to competitive Smartphone's like the iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97 and the host of available BlackBerry's.
Design and Features
There is no denying that the new Pro2 is a very visually appealing handset, the 3.6 inch touchscreen allows for a 480x800 widescreen VGA resolution, using a customised version of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Although it is very 'business' like in appearance, its metal and black...

Review of HTC Touch Pro 2
Advantages: Pretty easy to use because of a plugin Disadvantages: Little sluggish just like a WM6 pro device
...I have been using an HTC Touch myself for about more than five months now. It comes in two variants, one which has 64mb ram and other which has 128mb. The more the ram, faster the device is. Till date, the product hasn't given me any problems. The ease of use of this phone is just too fantastic and has an especially a fantastic plugin called the 3d Touch cube. This cube helps in navigating through the vip contacts stored on one page then on to multimedia, consisting of photos, music and videos {on one page}. Then comes the system management , consisting of E-mail, sms, IE, tasks, Communication manager and then calendar on one page. Total of three faces of the 3d cube, which help in controlling almost whole of the phone. The camera being 2mp is exceptionally sharp. The HTC home plugin provided makes the phone pretty easy to use...

Review of HTC Touch
Advantages: Customizable, Great video, User-Friendly Disadvantages: Weak Battery, Faulty software
...The HTC Touch is a reliable mobile phone with many perks and downfalls, which would depend mostly on your familiarity with electronics.. The phone uses Windows Mobile 6 software which is a very customizable software which can allow you to add programs, games, software which you may want or need. the downfall to this is it requires being able to find the files and programs which you need that can then all be loaded to your phone via ActiveSync software which comes with the phone when purchased.. the phone is great for calls, texting, mobile internet browsing, video Players, pictures and video recording.
The downfall to the HTC Touch is that it can from time to time run very slowly..its pricy for the issues that it may have down the road, without frequent updates the software on the phone may become slow and problems with the phone...

Review of HTC Touch
Advantages: Thin Form factor, Software customizability, PDA features, Windows compatibilty Disadvantages: No GPS, 3G and hardware keyboard
...The HTC Touch is a decent PDA (Windows Mobile 6) powered smartphone, which is particularly great due to its thin form factor and light weight. The HTC Touch is mainly touch operated and proposes a 'revolutionary' Touch Flo interface. The strength of the touch is that interface and applciations can be completely customised through some tweaking available at xdadevelopers.com, and in fact mine Touch is mainly now finger touch operated, making the stlyus mainly reduntant.
The Touch however is slightly underpowered (you will notice this underpower when using some power hungry apps such as opening a picture hungry webpage), has no GPS and no 3G connectivity. The touch is recommended for those which are on a tight budget, require a good pda and a decent phone but not the ultimate technology. I am very satisfied with it and would...

...A review of my HTC S620 mobile phone provided by BT mobile
WHY DID YOU BUY THIS PHONE?
I was passing a BT stand in Derby Westfield shopping centre and asked the man about BT broadband as we were looking to change ours. He convinced me that by applying for the BT mobile which would be an extra £5 a month I would get this phone and would be able to access the internet wherever there was a BT mobile signal, in internet cafes, airports and other places away from home. As I had spent quite a lot on internet access in airports I thought this would be a good idea so I followed his advice.
WHAT DID YOU GET IN YOUR BOX FROM BT?
This was delivered in the mail and in my box apart from the actual phone; there was a mains charger, a headset, a USB sync cable, 2 rechargeable Li-On batteries, a protective carry case, instruction disk and user...

Review of HTC S620
Advantages: touch screen, stylish, lots on it, memory Disadvantages: hard to txt a lot,
...I got the HTC touch as an upgrade, recommended to me by the man who sorted out my upgrade, i was very impressed when i first recieved it, nice packaging and well presented. After a few problems upgrading i turned the phone on,. Took a while at first but worth waiting for, very easy to use with lots of things to do on it. The tough flo is great when on the move like on the bus or train. Just a quick movement up the screen with your thumb bringsyou to your music, videos and the internet as well as many other options. Nice and styleish, fits nice in your hand with the stylus tooked away in the top. The cam is not the best and its quite hard to txt if your in a hurry and you always need to use the stylus, but that being the only downside, i do like the phone, easy to use with wireless connection, games, 2.0mg cam, microsoft word and windows...

Review of HTC Touch
...Having bought tow HTC touch phones to run some software - how would I comment...?
They're all right, they do the job (most of the time).
If you're a fan of the craze of smaller is better - yes they're compact, near and feel brilliant in you hand, but don't lose the stylus (or the spare one...) or if you do you'll have to find someone with childlike fingers with just enough fingernail to do the job adaquately. The screen can sometimes be unresponsive and not the quickest at times; if you tap wrong then you end up opening up a whole host of other programmes you both didn't want and didn't realise you'd pressed. Although they do have a nice little feature of a whole screen drag which you can use your finger to grab the screen and scroll down rather than use the scroll menu.
Outside the screen and menus can be difficult to see making...
