Huddersfield Uni!
Advantages: Relaxed, willing to take almost anyone
Disadvantages: shorter holidays than most unis
...Ive lived in huddersfield all my life, but i didnt plan on coming to the uni, originally i wanted to go away, as far away from home as possible!, but certain circumstances made it so that it was in my best interests to stay at home. Because the uni is so massive and there are so many aspects to it, i cant tell you about every single thing, but i can tell you about my own experience and i hope that its helpful!
I study Behavioural Sciences BSc, Im currently in my second year, its a great course and it combines psychology with sociology. My experience of the staff is good experience. Theyre all very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The university offers a wide range of degree subjects and qualifications, prospectuses can be recieved through the post, upon request if you visit www.hud.ac.uk
I chose to live...

Huddersfield uni *UPDATED*
Advantages: Good facilities, wide range of courses
Disadvantages: Big so you can get lost, bad reputation
.../freezer, kettle and toaster. There is also be a place to do washing.
A free bus is available throughout the day and evening to take you to and from the campus. The campus has 24 hour on site security and has plenty of space to park cars.
Lectures
Although lectures can seem a bit boring at times, ive found all the staff extremely supportive and helpful. Assignments do pile on top of you but with a good time management plan you wont struggle too much.
A bit more about student life....
Huddersfield is filled with many new bars. The most popular with students seem to be Yates, Issacs, Sharkeys, Zephyr, cotton factory and Varcity. Many off these offer deals to students althought the drinks are reasonably priced anyway.Tokyo's is a new club/bar that has just opened, there is also a livingstones, Camel club, shout (formerly Chicago Rock) but...

Pizza Hut (esp Huddersfield Branch)
Advantages: Not Many
Disadvantages: Expensive, Service can be poor, some branches are a mess
...Ive been a customer of Pizza Hut for several years, when I was younger it was an extra special treat if mum took me and my sister to the hut for dinner. I went on my 13th birthday, I went when I went to see Take That in Manchester, believe it or not, its where me and my partner went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary (why am I with him again?) And more recently, I went last night. Well never again!
There are two branches in Huddersfield, one in the town centre (the road name escapes me) and one next to the McAlpine stadium, where Huddersfield Town lose all their matches.
I visited the town centre branch with three friends, and between us the bill came to just over £41, we had a large pizza with two extra toppings (meat feast with chilli and pineapple), a medium pizza (cheese feast with cajun chicken and spicy pork), 4 pepsi...

This is a guide to restaurants in huddersfield
Advantages: range of restaurants, decent prices
Disadvantages: there are only so many to visit
...There are actually a large variety of foods available in Huddersfield yet is often hard to know where to go, in this review I will be giving you my opinion on the selection of restaurants I have recently dined in and hopefully giving you a helpful insight into the social side of Huddersfield town.
Along Viaduct street, not far from the train station, is a selection of restaurant, all offering different foods from around the world. Here you will find Cibo and Gringos, both in possesion by the same owner. I have eaten at both and was most impressed with Cibos. This small restaurant offers italian food and houses a modern, hip and simplistic decor that makes you feel comfortable. The use of bare brick along with the warm red tones and blue lights give a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are bearable...

Life Is Wonderful
Advantages: Strong story, strong cast, strong message
Disadvantages: None - unless you have a heart of stone
...After the second world war, some strange things happened - things which should have been dead certs didn't always reach the winning post. Winston Churchill couldn't win the 1945 election such was the mood for change in this country. Harry Truman wasn't expected to win the US presidential election in 1948 and one newspaper even printed an edition proclaiming victory for his opponent - which the victorious Truman posed with the next day. And Frank Capra made one of the most feelgood movies of all-time only to see it flop at the box office in 1946.
Time however has been kind to this movie, and "It's a Wonderful Life" has become the classic Christmas film, particularly in the United States, where it is impossible to miss on TV over the holiday season.
I first saw "It's a Wonderful Life" on TV when I was a teenager and classic Hollywood...

Life is just a game - enjoy it
Advantages: Good family fun
Disadvantages: Rules are quite difficult to pick up at first
... THE GAM OF LIFE
Mention 'games' to children today and they automatically think of Wii, X Box, Play Station or DS games.
But what is better than a good old-fashioned board game that the whole family can play together?
I expect that many of you reading this review played it as a young person - but have you any idea how long it has been going?
It may amaze you to know that it was originally created in 1860 by Milton Bradley, and was then known as The Checkered Game of Life. The modern version was originally published one hundred years later, in 1960) by the Milton Bradley Company (now a subsidiary of Hasbro).
Game of Life is, just what it says on the box, a game about living your life and making choices along the way.
Luck does play a major part in the game, but there are also so important decisions that have to...

Huddersfield for shopping and friendly people
Advantages: Great Library, accessibile shops
Disadvantages: poor market
...Huddersfield is a small town in West Yorkshire. The locals are really friendly and make you feel very welcome.
There's plenty of the named stores as well as local ones too!!
The Rugby League team "Huddersfield Giants" play at the Mc Alpine Stadium, off Leeds Road. This is one of the most modern stadia in the north of England and is only ten minutes walk from the town centre.
I have to say though that the indoor market in the town centre is pretty poor. It is very small for a town this size and is not as good as the one at say Barnsley which is only just down the road.
The Library is very informative and impressive though . It's location in the centre across from the market and occupies three floors in a rather grand old building.
Definately one of the best libraries in the Yorkshire area I'd say.
In summary a town where...

That's Life
Advantages: A couple of big tunes
Disadvantages: Inconsistent
...The Psychedelic Funk/Rock/Soul band Sly & The Family Stone released ?Life? as their third album in 1968. It was their second album of the year, and so saw minimal musical progression from the band that to this day still get sampled in the Hip Hop world and covered by R&B musicians.
1. ?Dynamite!?
Getting the album underway you see that they get down to one which has them driving down something which was heard on their last album as you have one which appears to take on the style which was prominent in the Pop-based work coming out of Motown at this time. I wasn?t all that into it, but I can see the appeal in the uplifting song.
**Two Stars**
2. ?Chicken?
Here you have the topic of the music continue through into this ne as they perform on which concerns what kind of girls they see and how they tend to be reluctant to get into...

Huddersfield being cheap
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...Despite all the big talk of spending on the squad to make promotion during last season, what did they do? They went and sold their number 1 striker to a direct rival(Ipswich) and surprise, surprise their goals dried up.
I do not blame Steve Bruce because I believe he wanted to keep Marcus Stewart but his hands were tied by the board who saw Martin Smith as an equal to Stewart goalwise yet costing £2 million pounds less. I am not knocking Smith because I want him to do well for Huddersfield but I keep wondering if we had kept him, that he would have been leading Huddersfield in the Premiership instead of Ipswich....
