Advantages: Powerful, Full of Features, Mobile, persistant storage, good communicator
Disadvantages: Standard Battery not the best around, has a technical problem (resolvable)

After some assistance from HP we discovered that I had a faulty power supply at home and after reconciling that, was able to charge the ipaq. "So why did it go flat?" I hear you think. Well, the problem is a known one and is easily resolveable with a simple download from HP. When the unit is switched on it works fine, add an SD card and that's where the problems begin. You will find the battery starting to drain, quickly. Even with life still in the battery, if it's switched off it can only be turned back on using the 'soft reset' function. You don't lose...

As i mentioned earlier, i tend to use TCPMP for my audio & video. It is freeware and supports just about anything thrown at it. HP iPAQ Pocket PC Hx4700

Advantages: Great screen, all the connectivity you could possible need
Disadvantages: Looks and size

...I have been a fan of the Ipaq since the days of the old Compaq 3600 (way back in the summer of 99!). Since then I have had the Ipaq 5500 (the finger print reader) and now onto my third the new HX4700 (the one with the track pad!). Being familiar with the Ipaq's of old, the first thing I noticed when I unpacked the box was how thin the new Ipaq was, very thin, when compared to my old 5500. The looks though may not be to everyone's tastes, but it does the job. I have noticed though that HP seem to be getting more and more stingy on the "included" accessories. No more slip on case, spare pens nothing! With the 4700 all you get is the one stylus, a docking cradle and a plastic flap/cover for the screen. Hmmmm not looking too good so far then. Pricey but priceless Ipaq4700

Advantages: Easily read screen, loads of memory, and easy to use.
Disadvantages: It is pricey, and written instructions were sparse

...receiver fits into the Compact Flash slot at the top of the Ipaq, adding about an inch and a half to its length. The software I am using at present, is Destinator, but any of the other systems will work too. It is handy to have voice direction in the car from my hx4700 - I will resist the temptation to say it is far sweeter than the usual voice directions I have in the car !! - and the beauty of this, is that it is totally portable, so you can hike over the Lake District and always know where you are - even if that's not where you intended to be. The only BUT, is that using the gps and maps on battery only is VERY draining on battery juice. 3 or 4 hours will see you in the danger zone ! But if you are fascinated by technology and gadgets, here is something near the top of every decent wish list !...

Advantages: Really smartly designed powerful PDA of latest spec.
Disadvantages: Moneywise - expensive than the other similar products avaliable in the market

...HP iPaq Pocket PC hx2750 is the most powerful pocket PC available in the market in today's date. It is quite safe (security wise) and intelligently designed PDA. One feature that attracts me (again security) is under its screen it has, a narrow rectangular bar marks the fingerprint reader that comes quite handy to keep your files and applications safe and not easily accessible. Design: It is lot attractive, easier to grip/hold and it has a screen protector that flips up while you are using it (and obviously stays there while in use). Just to add more in its cleaver design, which attracted me, was, along with the flip screen, it has nice and soft side cushions, which protects it from being damaged if dropped. Advantages: Good screen and processor for a small thing, connects to PC easily
Disadvantages: No phone, so limited connectivity

HP Ipaq - a mixed bag.

Advantages: Battery life quite good, well built
