...Having tried out a few of its peers I plumped for a Getz and was very impressed. Value for money is something I actively pursue, think its inherited from my father who used to having me rumaging through rubbish tips when i was young trying to find some hidden treasures. And we did find some!!!! Anyhow, I was in the mood for a new car as my 2 yr old 106 was a very poor choice, it kept breaking down!! A lot!! for no reason and it never got put right despite numerous attempt at the dealership. I was driving around after looking Ford Fiesta's, Corsa etc and wasn't overly struck by any of them for my budget., then i saw 5 year warrenty splashed across the windscreen and down the side of the Getz at the Hyundia dealer. Getz are great

Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, 5 year warrenty
Disadvantages: None

...I love my car. I brought my Getz in 04 for £5995. It has 5 years warrenty and 3 years free service. As a first car for a 17 year old, I was completely surprised with everything this little car has to offer. It is deceptively spacious. I now refer to it as a smaller big car, rather than a big small car. It has automatic windows, Central Locking (although not remote) and a CD player as standard. I have never had any problems with the cars performance. It has come out of every service fine, only repairs being made for small things like bulbs and wipers. It passed its last 2 MOT's again with no problems, Altough there was a recall item that needed to be replaced, which was done at the same time to no cost to myself and is now fine. The car is now over 4 years old and done over 36000 miles. But is still as strong and comfortable to...

Hyundai- nifty little car for anyone.

Advantages: nifty, compact but space to move, cheap

...My Hyundai Getz was my second car and it is fantastic for the money that i payed for it. I bought it brand new and from the word go i fell in love with it. Within a week she was named (Mo) and was been driven here there and everywhere. She is small enough to fit in any parking bay... within reason. She is nifty for the size of the engine and handles easily zooming up and down the M1. With the price of petrol going up a hyundai getz is a great way to keep those costs down. The Road tax is also quite cheap at £120 a year give or take you cant go wrong. Even though the boot is small it holds more than it looks. Many of times have we driven to the airport with four people. four suitcases and four backpacks with room left to shuffle about and not have your face squashed against the window. a girly guide to the getz

Advantages: nippy, economical and stylish
Disadvantages: hyundai havent yet built a good reputation

...that I was wanting a small economical car but it had to be a fun one too. When I got my return call his choices of car were a toyota yaris, a ford ka or the hyundai getz. The thing that made the getz stand out to me was the fact that they come with 5 years parts and labour warranty - brilliant no more uncomfortable trips to garages with the fear of being completly and utterly ripped of due to my own lack of knowledge. Intruiged by this I headed of in search of a hyundai dealer. When I reached my destination I was pleasently suprised these cars were lovely looking - I'd kind of been expecting a tin can on wheels as I'd never really put hyundai as a top notch car manufacturer. On my test drive I took out the 1.3 gsi version. WOW this car is lush to drive, its got excellent pick up on it so no more crawling out of junctions at 1mph...

Stan Getz all smooth on us.

Advantages: Near perfect saxophony.
Disadvantages: Too smooth.

...The Very Best of Stan Getz. Sax Moods. The cost of this double CD varies, I actually got mine from a boot sale for £3, it can be bought on Amazon for less than a fiver. Stan Getz, to me, on tenor sax is like Kenny G is to soprano, Mr smooth. There is no doubt that this has been both his accolade and his downfall. Traditional jazz fans may well find him too smooth, yet his pedigree and grounding was in some of the more bebop style bands. His 'tone' when playing has been called 'the sound' as it is pretty near perfect, now personally I like something a little more 'off' perfect. This double CD is broadly (though not completely) split into two genres. The long and the (very) short: Hyundai's newest model

Advantages: Cheap purchase price, low running costs, ideal in urban areas, comfortable, 5 year warranty
Disadvantages: Not in the slightest prestigious, looks that aren't to everyone's taste

A car with a split personality?

Advantages: Fantastic value for money.
Disadvantages: Poor interior, poorly engineered engine and bad resale value.

Buy a Toyota or Honda and you know it's going to last longer than the moon! But these cars are always about 20% more than the equivalent Ford or Renault. So now we have a problem. A super Mini!

Advantages: Very reliable and very cheap to run.
Disadvantages: Boot not massive, temp spare wheel.

...A few months ago our faithful Toyota Corolla started to over heat slightly, and we realised that having done 97,000 miles in it, it was time to start thinking of change! We headed out one afternoon to buy a second hand car and trade the old one in. During our travels, we stopped in the Hyundai dealership and to our amazement saw the Hyundai Getz with £1000 off the price, 5 year warranty and 3 years RAC. It was not much dearer than we were being offered for second hand cars. So after thinking it over we bought one! The Getz is described as a supermini. ...It all started when my sister asked me what wheels to buy. She trusts my judgment about cars and many other things, as she earns her dough at least as hard as I do, her burden being harder with a recent divorce and a 5 year old son to both mother and father at the same time. Well after a serious survey I drove her down to the Hyundai dealer... 1) Looks : Cute, compact and modern. A body style which would not be outdated for the next 3 to 5 years. A blend of a pretty "baby car" and a serious vehicle that means business. 2) Exterior : * Panel joinings are even, well placed and sound. The "knock-on-the-panels" test gives me the impression it has a tough little shell. * Especially the pillars A through C are made of very thick steel sheets and they sound like as though you knock on a solid and heavy oak table... * Same applies...

The car that should never have been....

Advantages: It's better than nothing -- just
Disadvantages: Cheap, tackey, just really bad and lucklustre

...Ok, ok. Maybe the title is a bit harsh, and it is a bit late, but I was just browsing this wonderful site (as you do) and remebered a very poor rental car I got when I was last abroad. Yes, you guessed it, it was a hyundai Getz. I saw another positive review of this car here, and couldn't believe what I read. It's probably becuase the poerson had spent their own money on the car and so had to justify it. Anyway, these are the bare facts on this car as far as I can tell. a) the standard features are really not all that great. e.g. alloys --> after one month they were showing signs of stress and wear that normal wheels show, not alloys! b) the air-conditioning barely worked and never really pushed enough air through the system, or cool enough. It was like partial air conditioning which would die out by the time air reached...
